Too bad they've wasted time, added a lot of weight, and weakened overall vehicle structure by adding convertible mode. Even my grandmother remarked 'this is just stupid' when season 4 came out.
How any criminal prosecution happened with Hasselhoff’s tight trousers pulled up so high is astounding. EBS stops KITT in 1.5s, and Michael is sitting in his seat with no belt. Advanced technology! I also love how the vehicle the bad guys have clearly doesn’t fit in the van, so they just cut as the top is about to hit! Never change, 1980s! ❤

@@BrotherDerrick3X I know.
_2:06__ I love that KITT sounds like a plane about to take off from the airport._ 😍
I always loved this show but watching it now shows how cheesy it could be; Michael is desperate to get KITT in order to rescue Devon at the beginning of the clip but then just before SPM is as casual as if it is a Sunday drive. 80's TV!
You can't beat 80s TV.
You had to put logic on hold and just be entertained.
80s had some of the best TV and movies.
@@DocMicrowave yeah, knight rider, street hawk and airwolf. I watched them all as a young teenager. They were all cheesy but had good theme tunes.
@@DocMicrowave Lol yeah even a kid growing up I knew some of the character's behaviors were unrealistic.
@@blaze2001 But it was fun to watch. Show you looked forward to watching each week. Entertainment with out all the preachy teachy social politics. Just mind numbing fun times.
There is a reason why so many cable TV channels are pooping up that show nothing but old TV shows and movies.
Agreed .
pressure LED indicators on the foot pedals !
wow, what a great feature... i always looked at my feet while am driving and thought something was missing.
This show was way beyond its time 👌
Lol, nope. This show is as 1980s as 1980s can be.
I love the 1980s GPS
@@flybeep1661 I meant the concept of self driving smart car was futuristic in 1980. Yes show was as 1980s 😀
Love how believable was that as kid and how absurd looks now😂😂😂
High speeds in a town, air brakes, no seatbelts...
KITT saying is mercury balanced and Michael ripping the cables off, KITT magically opening the handcuffs...😂😂😂
I'm very glad i had the opportunity to watch this awesome show as a child!
Funny to see the 1983 Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone vehicle repurposed as the Juggernaut in Knight Rider.
I guess Nordstrom stole it from the studio 😂
When KITT leaves the garage, everybody piles out into a little cheering line and the one dude starts dancing.
🤣😂🤣
0:30 _"I developed two new systems. They won't make up for the loss of his molecular bonded shell. But they may help..."_ I presume after this episode KITT eventually got his molecular bonded shell back to become an invulnerable car again. Haven't watched this series in a long time.
Hi
Had the same question.
Yeah KITT gets the molecular bonded shell back.
Yes, he did. Devon and one other gentleman knew the key components and could reproduce it. It was only absent in this episode because of Devon being held hostage and unable to supply the needed information.
I remember this exact episode but only flashes of it (I was around 4 or 5 years old) the battering ran on the tank and ‘super pursuit mode’ definitely stored in my mind vault and reviewing them has released tons of endorphins and happy memories of a simpler time, I completely bought the physics of this show despite how absurd it looks now
Funny everyone else talking about the car, spm and what the c button for, Only you got an eye for the Hoff bootie. Had to rewatch, u are right 😍
How much adoration this series was as a kid! But now it’s pretty funny at 260+ mph on 7 ”-8” wide tires and it turns like a TGV.
EBS stops KITT in 1.5s, and Michael is sitting in his seat with no belt. Advanced technology! I also love how the vehicle the bad guys have clearly doesn’t fit in the van, so they just cut as the top is about to hit! Never change, 1980s! ❤
"Ah, in the knick of time as they say!" *still puts detonator on top of the C4*
Guard 1: The card key won't open the door.
Guard 2: Shoot the door.
Guard 1: Oh sure, because bullet holes in doors automatically unlock AND open them.
Merica! If it doesn’t work, then shoot it! That’ll make it start working!
The story goes that that particular elevator door insulted his momma and he was just waiting for an excuse to shoot it.
Perhaps the book mic at the bottom would help.😁
LOL, caught that also.
Lol, nice catch, that boom mic.
These shows old shows were Never intended to be viewed raw on today's TVs. Let alone online. The framing is outside of the old TV 4:3 format safe zone.
You probably wouldn't have seen that mic watching on TV in the 80s.
You are all missing the big moment at the end... he ain't no simp. He left a dime tied up that he could have rescued first.
She spent her previous screen time working against Michael, so he was justified in not really liking her.
Don't forget the fact that the true reason she hated Michael was due to looking exactly like her dead brother Garthe.
@@user-roninwolf1981 we're lead to believe that he died when Goliath went over the cliff. although, it is a bit vague that he did die, it isn't really clarified that he did die when the truck went over.
@@user-roninwolf1981 I guess that killed any romantic conquest by the Hoff! 🤣🤣🤣
1:58 the first ever SPM
“I’m knocked out”
Still love this scene
I love green light up chain light bars on the gas pedal when Kitt hit the gas
The driller was from Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone. Loved it and Knight Rider
🍻
This video makes me miss my Knight Rider Big Wheel ,I had so much fun tearing around my neighborhood in pursuit mode on that thing...
I envy you. My last big wheel was a Masters of the Universe powercycle, sometime between 83 to 85. Got it as a surprise B-day gift but I really wish I would have been able to pick out the one I wanted. It would have been the KR big wheel hands down.
1:58 - Super Pursuit Mode
4:59 - Emergency Braking System
I wonder how the viewers reacted to seeing SPM for the first time back in the days. I know I was going crazy when I saw Knight Rider for the first time in 2002.
I was 5 years old when I first saw it and my reaction was laughing my head off 🤣
5 years old, and loved it
It seems we all started watching at 5 years old lol 👍
Knight Rider aired from 1982-86 so I would have been 1-5 years old, I definitely remember watching it before the last season and the appearance of SPM. Where I lived, we kept getting reruns until I was 9 so must have been 1990.
I was about 13 years old, and loved it.
I can appreciate it more now (despite the flaws and the bulky look) as a good gimmick. I actually got a touch of the goosebumps just now when the ETA reduced by almost half. And the look of speed is pretty decent (yes, i know it isn't accurate).
The only bit that i continue to dislike is how the EBS is used. It's never used in an Emergency. It's always discussed first.
This was a huge step from season 1 omg, 3D graphics and a way more believable dash 👌
Those were the beautiful days on my old TV :-)
Thank you for making such a good series ...
Makes me wonder what all those cops that saw 300mph on their scanners were thinking 🤔 🤣.
"I haven't got a key..."
Just made me smile. Always the gentleman
Best double episode ever in american and british history!! 😉👍
KITT was making sonic booms like he broke the sound barrier in Super Pursuit Mode
the standard trans am
was taken to a famous
straightaway race track
and reached 295 mph
without modifications
@@andrewblanchard2398 wheres proof or aint true.
@@andrewblanchard2398 since when? 160 horsepower, if that, in the standard Trans Am of the early 80's ... 295mph? never ... not if you threw it out of an airplane with a downward tailwind behind it.
3:20 Wait, wait, wait... Randomly shooting an elevator door _DIDN'T_ open it?! My 80s inner-child is shattered to the core.
Notice how michael does a jump over the roof of kitt like the duke boys from dukes of hazzard. 🤣🤣
He always did that!
Dukes of Hazzard sucks
*them Duke boys
For those wondering, the "C" button turned the car into a convertible.
In an alternate universe, the "C" button would turn the car into a cat 😸
mine was 1983 firebird
Thank you. I was thinking it was for when Michael was low in vitamin C!!!
Would the convertible also go to super pursuit mode?
@@nighthawkvc25a That would be Manimal!
The way the security officer fires his gun cracks me up.

I used to RUN home from school to watch re-runs of Knight Rider on USA. Happy memories.
KITT was like a kid playing with his new toy in this scene
When I was a wee lad in the 80's, I loved super pursuit mode. Loved it. Looking at it now...I find myself beset by the cheesiness of it...
such is life I suppose.
I love how he was doing 257 on the city streets and didn't hit a single thing.
What's the worst that could happen? He could get a civilian killed and blame KITT..
That's nothing. Back then, The A Team could be in the middle of a gunfight, multiple clips emptied and not a single person will get shot.
Why not? I regularly do that all the time ...
Or picked up by a Police unit parked on the side. 🤨🙄
I like when Michael and kitt get ready for super pursuit mode.😊
My favorite episode of Knight Rider was entitled "Race for Life" where Michael and KITT had to race to find the donor of the bone marrow to save the life of Becky, April's niece and KITT'S favorite friend!
Great episode which starred a very young Robin Lively, Blake Lively’s older sister.
Now we can see this car with new driver.. Dominic Toretto 😂
I hate when they speed up episodes and everyone sounds like they're on helium lol! But, love SPM! :D
"It's mercury weighted. My microjammer could set it off." But ripping it off the wall is just fine. 😂
I miss Chicago in the 80s 😍🥰🥰🥰🤷♂️
I miss everything in the 80s
I miss the whole world in the 80s born 1980
I miss the 80s in NYC.
you have to love the TV time world... 47 second and Michael saves everyone with 1 second to spare...........real world the bomb would have exploded before he even got into the tunnel
When Michael said that he was knocked out...K.I.T.T. should have said..."Actually... you're fully conscious..."...lol!
lol
That would have been hillairious! 🤣🤣
Imagine if KITT then activated his oxygen vent lol
😆
Michael - "i am knocked out"
KITT - "I see, should i activate smelling salts Michael?"
😆
Beautiful.
There is only ONE TIME where a wide body kit on a Pontiac Trans Am of that vintage is acceptable.
This is the one time.
I miss my firebird… ‘88 sky blue, t- tops, chrome 18 inch wheels, banging sound system, and a dopey six cylinder…
I had a 90 TA WS6 with the 350TPI. it was great but I test drove a 2.8 5 speed and really appreciated the lighter handling. Even the Formulas without the 60+ pounds of cladding and other accessories were noticably lighter, Since then I've wanted to build a super light 3rd gen with just decent power.
@@DrewLSsix
Yeah, I had the 2.8… My cousin had a trans am, the raw power of that thing was intoxicating…
I had an 86' with the 2.8...it was fun to drive, but what I wouldn't give for the 89 anniversary edition with the 3.8 turbo from the GNX!😍
Watching Knight Rider made me want to have a Firebird/TransAm. Sadly I live in Argentina, and there must be just a couple of those in the whole country...
Gotta love Pontiac and their stupid decisions
KITT faces off against trucks, missals, hot lava, quick sand, you name it. And a battering ram on a make shift car destroys him. CLASSIC!
Bonnie's the greatest!!😂😂 Lol!! April couldn't have done this!!😂😂

Emergency breaking! 🤣 Brilliant!! 😉👍
Kitt’s tires must have been made out of the most stickiest substance known to man to keep him from sliding around at turns doing 300mph in a city street
Also, Michael knight is probably not a real human because his internal organs should have been liquified with the lateral g forces required during such high speed turns 😂
😂😂😂😂
80's TV reality trumps everything you just pointed out ...
It must be all that down force from those little fins.
and no seat belts! just the "Laser restraint system" 😆
His internal organs have absorbed his hair product over the years. The hair doesn't move- and neither do his organs.
Liked this series when you were young. Since it is recorded in Chicago. Recognized the Sears Tower, now it's called the Willis Tower. A lovely city to be in, yes even other parts of America.
"Michael, watch out for the guy with the stupid hand."
"Why Kitt? Does it have a screwdriver built in, or a corkscrew?"
"No, Michael."
"Or a jack hammer, or an egg whisk?"
"No, Michael, It's just really heavy"
"Thanks, pal. Any tactical advice?"
"Yes, Michael. When he lifts it up, move back."
Ha ha not
Lol the car would be 40% slower with all that extra drag 😂
I got a goosebumps all over with KIT put on a super persuit mode in city roads. Pedestrian could get kill.
I loved this show as a child but man; seeing this for the first time in YEARS.....................................wow was this cheezy!
The "C" Button Turns KITT into a Convertible
Like t top wasn't perfect enough
So the C Button on the N64 controller turns the N64 into one as well
We're halfway there. We got Alexa and goofy lEDs 😆. Gotta love the Cholo looking dudes polishing the ultimate crime fighting machine 😆 😆
#2 greatest moment next to Garthe’s 1st appearance
Around 0:49, he's in a hurry, but then puts the gearshift to 1, which would make KITT slower than D.
Pursuit mode faster than a bugatti veyron not bad for an 80's pontiac.. 😂😂👍
A few years after this show Banks would build a twin turbo 1800 horsepower trans am GTA that would set and hold the record for passenger car top speed at 287mph at Bonneville.
@@DrewLSsix For about the same kinda money that it costs to buy a Bugatti Veyron ..... You forgot that part ....
