    Time card fraud is in the private sector as well. At my previous employer, two employees were fired doing this

    where i work 2 people on our team cant seem to work a solid 40hrs of work per week without: calling in late, calling off, or leaving early, yet 1 was promoted from GS-9 to GS-11 and the other was promoted to shift lead. make that make sense. but me, the go to guy cant get to GS-12, unfair. Also a GS-12 person got fired, diff department and role for...... st3@ling computer and lab equipment and sealing it on Ebay, still had the serial numbers on it. he lost his GS-12 position, went to j@il, wife d1v0rc3d him, had to pay $75k in restitution

    I don’t want to play pool, catch, or any other games during work. I don’t want to have to work around people playing games during work. I hate the office because of office politics and having to tolerate my coworkers’ insipid chatter. I hate driving to the office because I have a super commute. I love wfh, it’s a godsend.

      It's nice when w-f-h works, yes. But you so often hear the lame logic from white-collar colleagues, "Sorry, I didn't see your email - I was teleworking!", that it makes you wonder if you missed some memo they quietly passed around, that telework is an excuse for holiday.

    The state timecard is basically you put a number there and if you did something that gave you more or less time, you note it. Ex: I came in late at 8:05 a.m.
    I would put 7.5 hours for the day. I came in at 8:05 a.m. And I left at 4:35 p.m.
    Technically, I am late, but I am honest about it and I made up the time. No issue there.
    There is a rumor that every time I badge in, because I have to badge into the fence and into the door to the building; there is a group of contracted people who keep track. So if you state a time very different from when you badged in, you could be in trouble for that.
    Other than that, no one really knows. There is also the case where you can tailgate someone in, meaning they badge in and they hold the door open for you. I am sure many people have abused being late IF they were able to tailgate in.

      It's been mostly honor system where I've seen: If you walked in at 8:05:10, you don't feel right walking out until 5:05:11. And yes, within your own office everyone watches each other and whispers. But as far as the expected cross-checking of time cards and badge-reader records, it turns out Security and HR are as unlikely to voluntarily talk to each other as anyone else is.
      However whenever HR and Security do put their heads together on something, given the vagueness of those rules listed in the video, there is pretty much no limit to who they could frame. Heck if every rule were enforced, they would even end up firing each other - the cost savings of which could balance the federal deficit!

    My coworker didn’t come to work for 4 months. Earlier last week they abandoned patient care twice. Please, make a video on how to report this behavior.

    Reminds me of a prior job when I used to audit company credit card purchases. Once saw a purchase for like 20 or so kids costumes. Turns out it was a legit purchase tired to a sponsorship of some sort.

    Disappearing is called Loafing. A lot of people sleep in the bathroom stalls on Monday mornings. They are probably hungover. You also forgot drug usage at work and physical fighting and stealing government property. They will all get you fired too!

    Armand, so I came across a new thing today (not sure why it has been new to me); however, appointed employees. Do appointed employees get due process or are they at will or are they just subjected to the person, who appointed them, leaving?

    • @armandcuret1
      @armandcuret1  5 місяців тому

      Senior executive service and politically appointed federal employees are "at-will". Most new federal government employees are placed on a 12-month probationary period which does not come with protections, so they are "at-will" too.
      Most people make the 12-month period and then they have full protections and most have union representation also.

      There are some motor vehicle operator jobs and some school bus driver jobs but that's about it for actual driving jobs on usajobs.gov,
