Jasmine D'Souza There's always going to be haters, but, I love Laurel, I've been ride-or-die with her since season 1, episode 3, when Oliver & Tommy were getting beat up, she jumped in & fought those dudes... That showed who Laurel really is, even though she was mad at Oliver, she still had their backs.

I love Laurel. She's seriously the most three dimensional character on the show and if it weren't for her, I wouldn't watch this show. The girl has been through trial after damn trial (i.e. losing both her sister and her boyfriend because of his cheating, divorced parents and little support from her mother, alcoholic father, losing her boyfriend at the end of Season 1, nearly getting killed by a psychopath, losing her sister, etc.) Yes, Laurel has her flaws there's no denying that (i.e. her drug addiction and alcoholism). However, the girl has shown she has an incredible resilience and strength to rise above everything life throws at her, all while helping others and protecting innocents. I don't care what anyone says. Laurel is the Black Canary! Love her.

I agree. I think Laurel is a great character! I hated when she was addicted to drugs and alcohol, and blaming everyone else for her problems. But her haters seem to forget a couple things: she forgave Oliver for cheating on her, and eventually stood by him-even when her own father hated his guts!-, AND, the next time a tragic loss hit her hard, she didn't go around blaming everybody else, and sinking again. She fought back! I have so much admiration and respect for her!

This was great!!! I am a huge fan of Laurel/Katie and I hate how people always cut her down! Like personally if I have gone through half of what she has I would be in a mental institution but yet she stands tall and keeps moving. So its confusing on why she gets so much hate and particularly irritating that she is not getting the screen time she deserves. If anything ever happens to her this show will be dead to me. Another thing if anyone has anything bad to say about her cuz they are olicity lovers save your ridiculous comments because we all know Dinah Laurel Lance is life!!!

I never watched Arrow I normally watch it from time to time but when I heard they killed the black canary I was a bit annoyed because the Black Canary is very important..like very important she's Green Arrow love interest(they get married to) and when I heard that Oliver married (hacker girl I forgot her name) I was a bit disapointed that they didn't follow like the proper story of green Arrow but whatever
Laurel and Thea are so amazing! They are the only reason to keep watching this show. Tommy and Moira should never have died. Walter, Ted and Joanna should not have been written out. Felicity, Diggle and Sara should all have died or been written out just like Roy. They are all useless as far as the plot goes. They are just plot devices. I'm glad Sara is leaving to another show and might actually become a real character instead of a plot device. Laurel has a journey and a story that needs to be told. I love everything about her and it sucks that characters that are linked to her story keep leaving the show. Even Nyssa has been missing too long when they were just becoming good friends.
What do this Black Canary and Batman have in common? They both lost someone very close to them and want to help people with a deep passion. All though I am sometimes at Laruel's whineiness. She is passionate about helping others and doing what is right. That is why she became a lawyer and is trying to honor her sister.

If you watched season 1 you'd remember how good of a fighter Laurel was. When Oliver & Tommy got their ass kicked by Max & his men, Laurel came in & beat the shit out of him. When Det. Lance set Laurel up to find out who the Hood was & those guys came to kidnap her to get to him, she beat up four dudes before she was attacked with a taser. When she was watching the kid & the assassin came to break into her house? Laurel handled that. When they came to kill the mayor in season 2 episode 1, Laurel knocked out the gunmen, while drunk & on drugs. Laurel was always a good fighter, until the writers regressed her fighting skills for a stupid plot point.
Sara didn't have ANY years of training. If we didn't SEE it it didn't happen, right? This is the logic you're using for Laurel, we didn't SEE it so it must not have been that much, when that has to be applied to EVERYONE; it's only fair. BTW in Season 1 she already had the skills.

Dinah and Oliver had been together a very long time before they got married. For awhile they were the only members of Team Arrow before Connor took over after Ollie died. When he came back and was reunited with Dinah they were still together even after that. When they got married she was a still a part of Team Arrow. They had a 30+ issue comic run called GREEN ARROW & BLACK CANARY. "Black Canary was never a member of Team Arrow" my ass.

Dinah and Oliver had been together a very long time before they got married. For awhile they were the only members of Team Arrow before Connor took over after Ollie died. When he came back and was reunited with Dinah they were still together even after that. When they got married she was a still a part of Team Arrow.
