Thank you Gareth and the military wives. You restore faith in humanity for me. As an American sailor (at least formerly) I can tell you that my wife didn't wait. God bless the rest of you.

This portrays women inside and their honesty together with a real conductor that has their developments at heart. It moves me every time i watch more.

What an absolute joy to watch these women become part of a choir, a team and create friendships for life. All down to Gareth who should go down in history as a motivator , an inspiration and a giant in the music world. Have followed your musical career from the beginning and am now in a choir in Australia.

Gareth is a British National Treasure. I have watched his choirs when they were first shown in Canada but this is the first time I have seen the Military Wives Choir and watched this wonderful production and yes, I cried all the way through. He has brought so much joy to the women who have such a hard time when their husbands are deployed. God bless him, he has worked so well and so hard for all these women but for all the children too he has worked with. The fact that there are so many other branches of the Military Wives Choir now is fantastic. And such a brilliant song composed and arranged by Paul Mealor - what an amazing talent he is too. Kudos to all involved.

Thank you for your UA-cam Channel. I am an in U.S. and grew up in a military family with a father who was U.S. Air Force an a pilot / career military man. I always loved being in choirs myself and have seen some of Gareth Malone's The Choir specials.
I have not watched any of the Military Wives Choir specials. I appreciate you doing just that with your channel. Have a positive and joyful 2016!! (I know it is June 1st, but I still wanted to wish you a great new year.)

Amazing video. I sang in a choir when I was a boy and served in the military (Canadian) as an adult. This brought both strands of memory back together. What Gareth and these women did was nothing less than amazing. Congratulations.

It all began in Catterick, where a choir for military wives and girlfriends had been set up in 2010 by Nicky Clarke and Caroline Jopp. Nicky had written to Gareth Malone about the benefits that a choir could bring to military wives during a deployment to Afghanistan.

I clapped at the video when it finished. Crazy I know, but I loved it so.

Yet another Group of Military Wives just brought the House down 24 Dec 2014 at the Albert Hall with a stunning performance of three songs. Do take the time to track it down on IPlayer (until end Jan) or later on UA-cam.
5.000 people at the Albert Hall leaped to their feet after a stunning performance of three songs, all sung whilst many of their Husbands were out in Afghanistan literally at the time of their rendition for the 100th Anniversary of WW1.
Take a Bow Ladies, mo matter which Military Wives Choir you belong to - you do your Husbands proud :)

    Ahhhhhh
Wherever you are my love will keep you safe,
My heart will build a bridge of light across both time and space.
Wherever you are, our hearts still beat as one
I hold you in my dreams each night until your task is done
Light up the darkness, my wondrous star
Our hopes and dreams, my heart and yours, forever shining far
Light up the darkness, my prince of peace.
May the stars shine all around you may your courage never cease.
    Ooooooh
Wherever I am, I will love you day by day
I will keep you safe, cling on to faith, along the dark dark way
Wherever I am, I will hold on through the night
I will pray each day a safe return, will look now to the light
Light up the darkness, my wondrous star
Our hopes and dreams, my heart and yours, forever shining far
Light up the darkness, my prince of peace.
May the stars shine all around you may your courage never cease.
    Ahhhhhhh
    May your courage never cease...

See that Gary Barlow has muscled in & claiming credit that"s not due to him as if this is his idea

Unfortunately Gareth, the screen-writers of "Military Wives" decided you were irrelevant.....and their movie "based on real events" isn't.

What more can you expect from American producers they cant think for themselves so steal other peoples idea & convey the image that its theirs & American actresses to add insult The movie hasn"t got me interested even as a freebie on UA-cam

I collected a car from a military wife a couple of months back. I was struck by how confident, outgoing, proactive, fore-thinking and generally incredibly positive person she was.
