Another awesome video, Frank. The best abandon mine exploration channel on UA-cam. If discovery ever picked up your show, it would be the only reason I’d ever watch that channel.
Great editing in this video Frank. Liked the back and forth between your camera and Sharon’s. It was nice seeing some older footage of Max, he seemed like he was one happy puppy out on adventures with you!
@@exploringabandonedmines interesting. Thanks. What’s their diet? Also I’ll be coming to see your museum soon. I have a friend that just moved to Grand forks.
Interesting to see both entrances from different perspectives. My heart was racing as I had visions of Frank coming in from the top which would disturb any rats and chase Sharon out the other end. Nice edit with your old footage, and a lovely memory of Max. Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm not sure if it was luck or just good planning, but the fog slowly rolling in behind you during the intro is badass. Thanks for another great explore Frank and Sharron!
RiP Max. Never knew a dog so brave and intelligent. You done good Frank, you raised a good boy. Max was the real reason I subscribed! Screw Frank... lol jk. I would love to see you guys with YOUR OWN show on The History Channel someday. You deserve it. Best wishes on your new ventures, the museum, and everything between.
I guess you will have to make a rat repellant for Sharon !! The little critters are really cute until they chew up your food or pee on your pack !! Great adventure and great video !! Take Care you two and keep on going !!
I really don't mind wild rats but when I was training as a telecoms engineer, we had to carry a credit card sized card with us at all times detailing the symptoms of Weil's Disease, which can be contracted from coming into contact with rat pee - especially in water. We used to come across so massive rats when working in the subterranean man hole chambers. They weren't scared of us at all. Some, like in this video, were downright bold.
nice little mine that , it was max that 1st got me watching your channel ,used to have a border collie that i used to take exploring ,even made him a collar rig with a maglite on it ,tbh i dont think he was impressed with some of the places i took him
You desperately need a rope bag no more spaghetti, or stepping on the rope which is really bad for the rope. You stuff it in the top deploy it out the bottom hole . You can where it like a pack or hook it on your harness and deploy the rope from top of bag. Great videos thank you all.
Hell no! Why ? so the big tv executives can tell Frank and Sharon where to go and when and how to do it ? Screw you ! They already have a show you’re watching it! 🙄
Frank my friend your You tube show is so much better than an over produced show on discovery ch . I can’t stand that stuff with everyone acting like wanna be movie stars ! Keepin it real bro it’s so refreshing !
Sharon and packrats don't mix, she is very vocal about them. If she saw these little critters, she would run out of the mine, over you. Max sure was tight buddies with you Frank.
I watched this guy on UA-cam that explored the. Oh crap... forgot the name. The Anox copper mine. Just hit me.... It was interesting to see the town.... Love your mine tour more tho.... P.S. took me 15 minutes to rember the name.....
first time on the channel, 10 sec into the video and damn, you have a great beard! Loved the vid. I come from a german mining region and have been down in public museum mines. It's just so much more interesting to see abandoned mines
Not like the gross rats we have here in New York, that looks like a bushy tailed wood rat we rarely see in the Blue Mountains. Cute little silver thieves with the head of a horse and ears of a rabbit and tail like a squirrel. When camping in the Blue 2 years back i heard a jangling noise, caught one dragging my necklace i left outside when washing up for bed. I'd definitely put a metal detector over all their nests and make a video, or try trapping one at the lower level and put a gps mapping beacon on it to find new areas... especially since they are fascinated with things that are shiny. You'll need to leave an offline (cause no reception) down there to auto-sync when it's nearby through the days, would be tricky timing in-person
Hi Frank & Sharon, absolutely love your channels, new subscriber, hope this isn't a dumb question but what is the meaning of " go or stay to your right" I hear time and again in your vids, thanks👍💯💪

Yeah it would be nice if they give you a TV program or History Channel you would end up telling them where to go because they would not let you do what you want and they wouldn't get insurance for you

Not for taking inside mines though. I remember worrying about Max falling into a pit or false floor. Another problem is they will drink the nasty mine water which can be pretty dang poisonous with cadmium, etc. Kidney failure would follow shortly after.

You need to get yourself a rope bag! No more tangled ropes then. Clip it to your harness and unspool as you go. Mine holds my 100m rope too.
Any good ones you'd recommend?
Frank you made your own show. Even better because you get to make the rules.
I tuned out when i saw Max. Too painful Frank.
I enjoyed that and am very glad you and Sharon are keeping it real. Gly is now featuring ghosts on his channel so it is time to tune that shit out...
lol
Who needs the discovery channel when you’ve got a great UA-cam channel
Hi Frank/Sharon.
Few weeks behind, watching now.
Thanks 👍
Welcome back!
I’ve never seen rats with tails like that. Crazy!
Right?! It looked like a squirrel!
@@KelseyDunlevy yeah sort of, the tail was a cross between the 2. I guess mountain rats get fluffy tails.

I prefer the Roman name for rats. Big mice. Makes me feel slightly less freaked out by them !
Is that for real? 😄
Gotta love auto-generated closed captioning... "rat's nest" translated to Rod Smith, and "rat piss" translated to "bread piston." 🤣
Frank put the wrong date on the premiere again🍺 Rats are the only thing Frank is afraid of, oh boy.
Sept 3 rd is the right date. The videos are edited and posted on UA-cam in advance. Sometimes weeks before they are released.
Ugh. Lots of rat poop dust there. :D

The nesting material is mostly from outside so i'm sure they know their way in and out of the mines...
