Favourite Places - Animation by pupils from Lyngford Park Primary School.
We worked with Year 6 pupils at Lyngford Park Primary School to create a short animation called Favourite Places. Each participant produced a 2-dimensional self portrait puppet, complete with moving eyes and mouth, using card. They then got to work writing a short statement that described their favourite local place, many of the pupils chose to talk about their local park. The group then delved into the world of digital animation and sound-recording and produced this fantastic sequence.
This film is part of Somerset Art Works' Lyngford Film project, a community based youth project encouraging young people from the Priorswood area and users of Lyngford Park to have their say about where they live and share their concerns and hopes for the future.
Richard Tomlinson ran workshops at Priorswood Primary School and Lyngford Park Primary School and also set up a film and photography tent in Lyngford Park for family workshops through the August summer holidays.
