  • Here I am demonstrating a barbell back squat!
    There are bar placement variations known as “high bar” and “low bar” and I personally use a low bar positioning meaning the bar usually does not sit on your mid and upper traps and above your shoulders, it sits somewhere on your posterior shoulders.
    The back squat is a great lower body compound movement. It is a good movement that can be used to develop your legs for both strength and aesthetics.
    Start by finding a comfortable bar position either high bar or low bar, set your stance for your feet which for most people is hip width or farther, breathe in and brace your midsection, extend your hips by pushing you butt back and down descending as close as you can to a parallel position as shown, drive into your heels using your quads, hamstrings, & glutes to ascend back to the starting position at the top.
