@@boughtnotbuiltoffroad7784 lol.😎 You know how it is...sometimes you just use what's handy You guys definitely Living Life Large! 👊 Hey! L3 + E3= Great times!
But isn't the job of the rock rail to prevent that kind of damage? Did it just flex into the body then bounce back out? Also, you guys really need to put some plates behind those shocks...thats two you've busted coming down off a rock!
Fearless Trailhawk the rock slider works great and does its job. It’s not meant for a full weight impact at full throttle. I hit so hard my foot came off the gas pedal and I hit my head on the cage. No rock slider is designed for that
@@boughtnotbuiltoffroad7784 Yeah but it seems like (not there, haven't seen it in person) it simply flexed in to allow that much body damage, then went back to normal shape still having the mostly standard gap between body and the rail, other than the one dent in the outer tube? And honestly, if the slider isn't designed to sustain a full weight impact...then its not a good slider. (imho) The sliders i have (Rocky Road) are made out of 3/16 inner-hitch steel and are lifetime guaranteed to never ever bend. (look it up, most sliders are made out of thinner tubes, even MetalCloak) I would imagine if mine did bend enough to allow that much body damage, they would stay bent in against the body, not bounce back out. But i feel 100% confident that my sliders would have taken that same hit and not transferred all that into the door frame. They would have one heck of a nice dent, but would not have flexed into the body. I've seen your sliders work great doing normal 'sliding', but apparently they still aren't quite as strong as they could be. And for what you guys put your rig through, i'd be getting the thickest and strongest rails available...
Fearless Trailhawk I can guarantee you that there are no sliders on the market that would have taken this hit 4 times in a row. It’s not just the weight of the jeep but the jeep slamming down after launching up the obstacle and falling back and sideways. I’ve had plenty of hard hits. This was way harder then anything I’ve felt. It literally hurt me. I would prove that on the same obstacle with anyone else’s sliders if you want to put them on a JL. A JK is different, the JL has a lot more movement in everything. Does that company even make anything for a JL?
Fearless Trailhawk I just looked and rocky road doesn’t have JL sliders and probably for the reason that most companies have had issues with body damage from sliders. Just need to understand that the JK is different from the jl and our jeep is very heavy with one tons and a hemi with 40s. I can 100% guarantee you that there is nothing on the market that would withstand that hit

Have you seen everything these sliders have been through over the past year with no damage to the body at all? The slider isn’t the problem. Everything has a failure point and what I did was well beyond anything on the market. I hit so hard my foot slipped off the pedal and I smashed my head on the cage. The problem wasn’t the slider at all. These sliders have been put through hell with no issue until now which wasn’t a problem with the slider at all
So I literally was like, "ooooh yeah, showing some skin.....nice low hanging pants......oooo belly button.....OH MAN, that's a dude!!!". Totally got me.
Scratches on top of the rear bumper and bottom of tail light? Chit yourself at that angle and it will roll down your back. Scratches and dents are free tattoos for jeeps. Body mounted rockers may have prevented said damage. Is that a jeep grill on the broken tail light piece?
He flips the scorpion all the time. He needs to put a winch on the center of the roof so he can right himself without help. Its a cool rig but I think it is a little top heavy.
