"As you are disciplined enough to give your dream a chance, be disciplined enough to practice self care as well." Lisa, during your video, I was just thinking this and you said it as well! Definitely an #AHA moment for me at that point. :) I had been giving so much of myself to my work that I soon realised that I had nothing more to give. I was drained. It was only recently I have been taking steps to recharge. Going for walks and smelling the fresh air, meditating, spending more time with friends, talking to family, watching movies and having a laugh. All of these self-care time have been giving energy to my soul. In fact, I found that I am more focused and more productive now that I had been previously. I will continue investing in my own self care as that is also an investment in helping me be at my best to attain my goals and dreams. #BOL

These are all such great points to remember. I think the majority of is tend to feel guilty for taking time for us. I think for entrepreneurs this is even more the case because we tend not to have clear boundaries between work and life. Thank you for this Lisa!

Lisa, I am a single mother living in South Africa. I don't know HOW I never came across you and your message, books and your work before! But I am grateful I found you now and I am being BLOWN away. I would love to find a group of people who make me stand on MY tippy toes, and I am now going to work on finding them. I am "okay" with money, but I want to be "great" with it. I want to feel at EASE with it. I love you and your words and your light. Thank you.

I just started self-care after a break up and this is just what I needed to see. I am inspired and driven to work on myself and the quality of my life. I've tended to put everybody else ahead of myself and not believe in my own abilities. That's changing! Thank you!

Lisa, first off...thank you! I am an African-American woman and was raised with a philosophy that made me believe that self-care was selfish. This is changing my view on the topic and creating a new culture. I have deprived myself in so many ways just trying to be quote on quote successful. Spending much of my time taking care of others and myself last. God bless you... your amazing strength, your ability to Empower others and your courage to have conversations such as these.

Self care is not optional, we should fill our cup first in order to be in a position to fill anyone else's. Practice of being makes a perfect attitude and I know for a fact that I NEED to make a distinction between self care and indulgence as well better care for my vehicle (body) is a must. Thank you Lisa! Truly appreciate you wish I could meet you in person someday.🤗

@Lisa I woke up in the middle of the night as I couldn’t sleep. That’s because I lost who I am in the process and everything seemed very chaotic. I wrote in my journal as there is a lot I’d like to accomplish but I need to put myself first. After listening to this it actually got me back to my toes and I’m definitely using these steps to be better at self care and discipline 😊

I let go the toxic relationship so I can breath better. I enjoyed walking and spending time with myself. Now I have Bloom into a lovely Gardner of flowers and feels the sun shine on my face with out feeling any negative thoughts. I am first now.

Self care is not just about doing but also being. So true. Many a time we think we need to do something constantly but that's not always true. Sometimes we just need to be. That's what our bodies, our souls require.

I was so excited about this topic and Lisa did not disappoint. I've been really driven most of my life, at one point working four jobs and a master's. Self-care was not in my vocabulary. All that changed just over a year ago when my mother died. I've experienced a lot of loss in my life, including the loss of my father when I was 11 years old, but nothing prepared me for the impact my mom's death had on me. This grief journey has been bittersweet; discovering who I am and determining my own values and value without her. Now that the year of firsts is over, I'm feeling torn between my desire to 'get back into the game' and my passion to preserve the peaceful, contemplative lifestyle of the past year. According to Lisa, it's not either-or, it is both in harmony. Looking forward to Powerhouse Speakers in Nov.

Thank you Lisa! I needed this. I'm currently in the research and development phase of building my dreams. I had convinced myself - that my days needed to consist of grind all the the time because I have so much to leave and to master in order to reach my goals, because my dreams are soooooooo big. I needed to give myself permission to take a break and take care of myself. Fully understanding that my intentions are to build an empire and change the world, (focusing on Africa) It's going to take years. I can take a break. I can watch that movie. Spend time with my son. It's okay...thank you Lisa. Until next time.

Lisa, thankyou, I get so overcome by guilt from not being able to properly define between indulgence and self care! I literally feel guilty if I sleep for longer than four hours because I feel like that makes me "lazy" and also if I don't get up really early in the morning.. it sounds ridiculous (because it is!) but if I sleep until say 9am I feel like I've done something horribly wrong and that makes me a lazy and spoilt person because other people in the world have to get up at 5am to be at work etc. and I have chronic sleep issues so sometimes I may have been awake til 6am so when I get up at 9am I've still only had three hours of sleep and yet I still feel overcome with this guilt and that is not self care at all. I am very lacking in the self care department so thankyou for reminding me that self care is not selfish.
    Peace and blessings 🙏

Wow indulgence vs. self care- "indulgence throws you into chaos/problem management!" that was so powerful! I definitely needed to hear that. When I'm stressed I certainly give myself permission to overspend when usually I'm more disciplined when I am feeling a greater sense of harmony. Thank you for sharing!

Definitely an area I need to practice! I often feel I overwork myself because I’m always grinding. Recently, I felt I needed to “self-care” and it ended up resulting of going back to some old habits for almost a month that weren’t so healthy. Meanwhile I was still trying to grind but felt I was not giving it my all. I really like how you said even laying out outside and having a conversation with a loved one should be seen as self care! I’ve caught myself doing this and feeling great.
