- Jalen Brunson had 41 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in the 113-109 win over the Washington Wizards. Julius Randle added 21 points in the win as well. The Knicks host the Raptors next for the first time since the trade that saw RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley go to Toronto.

Playing the starters this many minutes is not gonna work in the long run.
Thibs fatal flaw. There usually half dead by the playoffs.

It shouldn't be happening against the wizards. They should just let the bench go in and try to assert themselves. Even if they lose at least the bench get some valuable experience out of it.

We need these starters to have some 20 min nights. 2nd half the season we need to be smart
The starters should be blowing out the wizards then if they want some rest. Investing in role players in the trade deadline gonna be a bandaid fix for the regular season, but come playoff time it's inevitable that the starters are gonna play this many minutes.

@@michaelsherron5750 If u talking about this year. I would say Mitchell, Halliburton, Maxey y Brunson are a toss up. Then Lilliard y Trae. Trae stats do not result in wins and his continuous jacking up half court 3's because he may hit won but miss 5 hurts him

Why does OG play 45 and 43 minutes on back to backs? The guy plays hard and needs a little rest. Brunson returns from injury and ok I'll work that sore calf until u tear your knee. I'll play you 39 and 40 minutes on back to backs. It makes no sense.

This game was a grind. They need more scoring consistency from the bench. The 3ball shooting was poor. Come playoffs, they will need more than 7 points from the bench.
Brunson gets beat up a lot. I really worry about him lasting the season and being there postseason. He's not a big guy.
Dejounte Murray will fix our bench!!! We miss IQ still our starting lineup is better.
We get Murray and Divencio will get 12-15min a game.. Quickly barely got an opportunity to play over 22minutes consistently and he's a very good player.

Thibs does not play his bench no matter the quality of players. Hartenstein was barely getting 15 mins when Robinson was healthy. this is not creative. no need to make excuses for him. He did not know how to maneuver the guards when Quickly was their and he does not know how to ride the hotheads. He's robotic with his substitutions and limited

Seven points from the bench? Seems like none of those guys really want to step up and be the type of player Quickley was. If we can’t get Murray, we need a player who cares enough to put in the work.

Not Thibs fault ! Many teams only 8 man rotation in playoffs !!
100 Thibs fault. He does not know how to make rotation or in game adjustments. His answer is to just play the starters more. U have 4 guys playing an average of 38-44mins. even on back to backs. Its not sustainable. Brunson just returned from injury and he plays 39 and 40 mins on back to backs. what if one of the guys get injured, which will happen with this overuse. You will be forced to play someone else. I mean Mcbride can play 15 min. He has showed that. U look at all the game boxscores every day and no team is playing 4 guys 40 minutes a game

IF thibs puts the bench in and rides with them for like 5 min each qtr, to give the starters rest, the Knicks lose this game and the fans be like "why didn't thibs put JB, Randle and OG back in at the 6min mark" or whatever. I wouldn't trust the bench either.
the knicks bench is stinking right now, QG hit a wall and doesn't wanna do anything except shoot 3s (even when the lane is open) and Deuce likes to dance with the ball but go nowhere, Hart was hurt tonight and Precious is a really really really poor man's version of Nerlens Noel.
but sure put the bench in for tonight's game and the story is knicks embarrassing loss to the Wizards by 8 pts. (then at that point, fans blame Thibs and Randle anyway).

That makes no sense because Quickly is better then anyone on the Knicks outside of maybe Randle and Jalen and Thibs could not find no minutes for him and as a coach you don’t sub out all the starters at once. So why have a bench? Just play the starters for 48 minutes. He has done this his whole coaching career. Never confident in his bench. So Quickley, Mcbride Sims and Hartenstein before Robinson got injured are all terrible. Robinson had to get hurt for fans to see his worth. Just trade the whole bench. I’m sure other coaches will be glad to have guys contribute. Nice we have to watch Quickley shine for another team
This is not the playoffs. All bench players are terrible when Thibs is the coach. quickly was terrible too, when he was here because he barely could break 20minutes. excuses, excuses for Thib lovers.

also, there's nuances to contracts and players wanting roles. it's not 2K.
you must expect all NBA players to be perfect, take that trade override off of your perception. the league is a business not a fantasy league.
...and at that point, go root for the raptors and while you're at it, go root for Indiana too... you're still probably waiting for Cam Reddish to shine too, so go root for the Lakers as well. it seems like you'll never be ok with any decisions about the Knicks.
I believe Tom Tibidodo is not allowing DUECE and Grimes to be themselves. I guarantee put them in another teem they will take off.

That's probably true, so the Knicks need to trade for players that work in Thibs system like OG and Donte... Brogdon or Kuzma would be perfect.
@@masonslcs I hear you but in order to get those tipe of players we have to give up a lot players and picks and I don't agree with that we need our assets for the future. Unless they think we can win it all this year. And I don't think so as long as webhave Randle we will never win a championship. As good as a player he is he still don't have the will and drive like a Brunson to win a championship
@Desman228 Randle and Brunson need help, Randle has one of the highest usage of any player in the NBA and performs at a high level 99% of the time. I think Kuzma is perfect because if Randle is having an off night then Kuzma can play the 4 or 3 if need be. Kuzma is on a good contract too so it would only take Fournier, Grimes, and 2 protected picks to get him. It doesn't make sense to hold on to 8 picks. There is no savior available that will magically make the Knicks legit contenders, but Kuzma is a great piece.

Kyle Kuzma, lol the kid is good, BUT CAN'T PLAY DEFENSE lol and don't have a killer instinct like GRIMES AND DUECE lol he is a better offensive player, yes but when the layoffs start its a different game and we need MEN WITH TOUGHNESS IN THEIR HEART AND KYLE KUZMA AIN'T IT!!!!

Lol, comparing them to a proven player like Kuzma is a joke... stop it. Kuzma would average 20ppg and 3 assists and 5 boards in 30 minutes off the bench on the Knicks and that's what we need.

He won't last much longer playing 43 and 45 minutes on back to backs. It makes no sense. He has probably played more minutes in two weeks then in his whole career. smh
@@Gilbert-hf7pl OG played for Nick Nurse in Toronto who is burning through his starters as much as Thibs is. OG is used to playing heavy mins, he averaged 36 mins last season

Brunson is the real MVP of the NBA, removing him from the Knicks will 100% lead to their demise. It is already be shown to be true. The Knicks have zero leadership and cohesiveness without him and would not make the playoffs. Watching Randle is annoying as well, he is a poor man's Melo. He can only score, sloppy with his passes and NEVER plays defense.

The bench is weak not much scoring coming off the bench And players like Grimes knows he is on the trading block its going to play with his head.so the fans not going to get what they expect from grimes.the knicks need to fix that problem as soon as possible.or your starters will be burn out.
