Yes, me too. I have one version on bossanovaguitar.com, but I have to doublecheck it as it's been a long time since I last played it. Will add it to the list. Thanks for your input.
Thanks! This seems to be a simple I-ii-V progression, if played from D (which I think Caymmi does) it would be Dmaj7, Em7 A7 or A7/6. Caymmi adds scales in bass so for example the progression from D to Em is Dmaj7, Dmaj7/C#, Dmaj7/B, Dmaj7/A, Em7 and similar. Chords seem to be played partly by picking, partly by strumming so it would be hard to transcribe that. Hop that helps.
@@bossanovaguitar Thanks for the reply, that is definitely helpful, and a great deal more detail than I've been able to find elsewhere. I've tried listening to him play, but as you say, the right hand is very difficult to pin down.
I love your tone! I have been practicing with a cheap nylon guitar, and I want to upgrade my gear. Which guitar brands do you recommend? I've heard that Tekamine is a nice brand, but I want to know about more options. Saludos de Chile!
It is funny how every Joao Gilberto song has almost the same guitar chords and melodies. Its easy to learn to play one or two, but then everything starts blurring up.
It gets trickier when you watch the live version, where he uses certain chord substitutions, and let's not even remember how he used to change the key of certain songs
I could agree on the chords, but melodies? While they're mostly collected from the deep well of Brazilian melodic imagination, they're very diverse in my estimation. Think of Retrato em Branco e Preto and Falsa Baiana, they're worlds apart. I concede that Jobim has his sinuous melodic signature, though

Thank you for your work!
I'd love to see a breakdown of Dois de Fevereiro by Caymmi- I can't seem to find a decent tablature anywhere

I'm glad you like it. There are many good brands, it's important that you try before you buy to see if you like it. The one I play is Yairi CY140.
Un poquito mas lenta para pillar bien el rasgueo estaria muito bien
what guitar do you use?
Yairi CY140. Thanks!
tuning?
This is standard tuning (EADGBE). Thanks for your input.
É sincopado, meu amigo...
Muito obrigado!

Agreed - probably best when playing for people not to play them all in a row, haha.

Maick95 Yes! His live versions are incredible and actually sounds very different.
Thanks to all of you!
