Women in general get hated because they have body hair on the internet and in real life that’s just how misogyny works, idols get the worst of it because they reach more people
Not just Kpop. The Entertainment industry universally around the globe is a magnet for mentally ill people as a whole, whether It be singing or acting… Because entertainment is the #1 way for someone to distract themselves so they don’t have to think about their mental illness. That’s why it’s so lucrative. When you brain runs solely on dopamine, you’ll do ANYTHING to keep it going so you won’t have to feel the “down” and if that means being plugged into you iPhone headphones on 24/7 consuming whatever content gives you the most dopamine…you will do it. That’s why it also attracts greedy evil people. People who recognize that in others because they are mentally ill themselves, and know they can capitalize on it. Also, the people in the entertainment industry ; the Idols, singers, actors themselves are mentally ill for the most part, which is why they’re attracted to that field of work to begin with.
I've been a Kpop fan since about 2020. I am from the US. So I think it is easier for me, coming from the West where our celebrities frequently show themselves to be human, to accept the humanity of idols. In America, there is a saying that basically says never meet your heroes because they will disappoint you. I know what idols do is sell a fantasy and I enjoy that fantasy from time to time, but I know it's a fantasy. Some people seem to not know that or they get a little too invested in the fantasy so when it breaks, they flip out. Maybe this is because of their age or maturity level. Maybe the realization that idols are people too, comes with maturity. I really do believe the situation can change. As long as we have people speaking up about the problem you'll have some folks who will hear and listen. So, to that end, we have to keep saying it and mean it every time we do.
As a kpop fan from 2016 the most mature fanbases when comes to mistakes are monbebe and atinys (yes i know there are some very toxic atinys i apologize on the behalf of the Fandom) but when comes to monbebe i have to mention that at some point in 2020/2019(?) Shownu had a one stand (affair?) with a married woman that didn’t tell him she was married and the fans now look back at it and laugh
Dang. You read us for filth 😭 I say us because I too something look at idols as “products” and forget they are actual people who exist somewhere on planet earth, alive and going through the human experience just like me They have good days, bad days. People they like, people they don’t like, people they hate, people they’re in love with, people they’re in lust with, they have friends, ennemies, rivals, horrible bosses, horrible co-workers (can be bandmates but also stylists, makeup artists, etc) It’s hard sometimes to remember because, the context in which we see them is always hyper curated and it’s easy to forget that these aren’t Androids pretending to be humans but actual humans 😢
even if idols are indeed genuinely good ppl, id be sketched out to date one of them though due to not wanting them or myself having to face backlash from knetz or their hard core immature fans. it must be quite lonesome at times cause they cant be open about much towards their fans yet at the same time they have to act single and available for them and do all sorts only for ppl to give them much hate. even if i dont always like the songs they release i dont particularly hate them as a person. but it seems a lot of folk especially knetz cant separate an idols image from the idols personal life
the internet gives ppl too much free space to treat idols as they would please. its not even about songs lets be honest, at this point its about ppls desires to control and own idols. if u think back to the first time the internet came about and how it had more of a purpose for good but now it feels like its only got worse and worse as its so ingrained in all our needs that even idols face much backlash for basically often doing nothing wrong.
The reason why many people hate kpop idols is because they are talented and they work hard 24/7 H .... and paying lot of money to own companies and some of idols suffer mentally in military .. You still think that it is easy to be idol in South Korea ?!
I think some idol groups will be humans to us, but I will think groups like We;Na needing to have a “human” part of there concept shows that the standard idol isn’t going to be a human to most kpop fans
Oh I've even seen idols being hated on for crying
Yeri
The fact some female idols got hate for having body hair💀💀
Women in general get hated because they have body hair on the internet and in real life that’s just how misogyny works, idols get the worst of it because they reach more people
K-pop appears to be a magnet for people struggling with mental health. Add in money and it’s a terrible mix.

You’ve reached full enlightenment with this one. So many good points. ❤

We need to talk about this subject so much... T-T

i honestly love how "crass" western celebrities are, it makes them feel like real people and not manufactured bots 😅
