41:28 Aww your so nice :D, most tourists love and go to my country for its coastal parts and the islands.
Theres no street gangs in Croatia (we do have "gangs" in politics though),
most of the graffiti in croatia are related to sport clubs (dinamo, hajduk, bad blue boys, torcida),
gangs dont exist and the crime rate is very low.
Thank you for advertising our small country,
you 2 seem really honest so its especially nice to hear you say good things about my country!
Thank you so much! We will have videos from the east coming soon! -E
No, we do have locks on bathroom/toilet doors. You just had some bad luck! 😁
Wooww! So interesting to see my city from a strangers` point of view!? That was cool, seeing you walking around, being excited an`having fun in your typical way...And explaining every single detail to the viewers.
Glad you enjoyed! -E
Cedevita is not low ranking club . They win: 5 Croatian Championships (2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18), 6 Croatian Cups, 1 ABA League Supercup.
Tickets for ZET tram and buses you can buy in news stand (kiosk/tisak) near almost every tram/bus station.
Also you can buy them from the tram driver, you just have knock on the little glass window which is on the left side of the cabin.
Visiting a flea market, chasing down the planets of the solar system that is part of an art installation, attending a basketball game......is why I love you guys. The experience is totally atypical and it is your joy in the discoveries that makes my experience so much the better. Your travel vlogs and experiences in Japan living have pretty much been one of the few that I've come to watch over the years on a consistent basis!
Awesome! Thanks so much for the kind feedback! -E
Shpitza = the point, pointy end, pinnacle. It's the place or time when things are happening. (it's coming from german, spitz) So, shpitza can be a place (like the main street where all the notables come to be seen) or time (like the high point of a party). Of course, time and place can converge to form a really big shpitza, like regular saturday morning in Zagreb center. That's where you go to be in the middle of things, brag about party exploits from the previous evening, plan for saturday night or just show off your new bling.
Speeka (how you pronounce it) is actually Zagreb slang for talk or story (incidentally, coming from english). Basically, it means the same as "spiel" in american slang. So "that's a good speeka" for something that's good, makes sense or "he's trying to sell me a speeka" for he's trying to cheat me.
Another nice video from you two! I'm glad you've enjoyed in my country and beautiful Zagreb!
Regarding toilets, these opened ones aren't "Croatian way" of toilets, but obviously you simply stumbled upon sub-standard ones at some places.
More modern, larger, newer, or simply poshier restaurants, cafes etc. pay a lot of attention to have private, lockable, clean and modern toilets. Many of them are even designed cool.
Tram/bus tickets are easy to find in almost any newsstand esp. bigger ones. You just ask for one of the ticket options;
tram ticket for half an hour for 4 kn and one hour for 7 kn.
There's also ticket for one day ride, that costs something about 25 kn.
You can buy tickets in tram/bus also simply by asking driver for tickets, but almost only when tram isn't moving. Aslo it's important to know that there's only one ticket option inside tram/bus that is gonna cost you 15 kn each.
And hey, how did you end up in such a outdated apartment?! There are much, much, much more modern ones, with modern facilities inside, better bathrooms, ...
@Zero Cool
These certainly aren't too private, practical neither cool!
But that's just the way it is!
zero cool and acid burn, hackers best movie
The apartment was a bit old but charming! We liked our stay there. -E
Yeah... basketball isn't *the* sport in Croatia, it's up there, but not number one. That'd still be football, followed by handball and basketball
Enjoying the series.
1. Have you ever seen a solar system scale model like that before? We heard there is an even bigger one in Sweden.
2. Commenting and liking our video helps our channel grow!
3. Lots more from Croatia soon! Next up we take a roadtrip eastward. Make sure you are subscribed: goo.gl/mkAwyy

Thanks!
Špica = shpee-tsa. Rhymes with pizza.
Very cool place to visit! Glad you two had fun. Thank you!
In Poland, you have to buy your tram tickets from kiosks. Then stamp them once on the tram.
We will try to remember! -E
It's basically the same in Zagreb! Yes, you can also buy tickets in tram/bus from driver, but only those more expensive ones for 90 minutes ride that cost 15 kn.
At the newsstands you have more options with tickets for 30 min ride for 4 kn, 60 minutes for 7 kn, and also daily tickets for about 25 kn!
lol we me and my friend in croatia never buy tickets
Asterix X no one asks for tickets only tourists buy it
Asterix X shut up you dont know nothing please
That solar system thing was a great idea! Also I was cracking up when you guys were trying to figure out the bathroom situation :)
I have been to Split and Dubrovnik and loved it. I had to laugh at your observations on the bathroom and what an awesome concept with the solar system. Great video guys...made my day.
Glad you enjoyed! Videos from Split and Dubrovnik coming later! -E
Thx for that awesome vid of my country!🇭🇷
Love your vids ❤️ from Scotland
❤️
Man i love Zargeb my favocity in all world,i could be bit bayest but i love it and i also miss it so so much..
Whenever I watch you guys I just want to book my next adventure. You guys do fantastic videos and have so many incredible travel adventures. Well done guys you’re doing so well 👌🏻
Awesome to hear that our videos make people want to explore! The best compliment ever! Thanks! -E
I'm so glad you went to experience Jakuševec flea market! Not many tourists would go there and see that side of te capital too. There's some odd beauty in places like that, if you know what to look for 😊
yea we like to try and see "normal" stuff. the people there were friendly, if I recall.
Loved video, bathroom part was priceless
SHpiTZa not SpiKa. ;)
Eric is like big Papa Smurf! :D
I though this was Joe Simunic...now that he retired from football.
spike*
Thanks for the video. I really enjoyed it. In the UK we have the same markets, we call them 'Car boots
Again a very nice video about the world!
i m from ZG and your bathroom impressions made my day hahahahha....Love the bjork Tshirt btw.
Thanks! -E
"Go into the back end and see what happens..." Giggity.
I was there in 1990 and it was not THAT cool, but still nice. Thanks for showing what it is now!
not paying for the tram is definitely part of the zagreb experience so don't feel bad you guys
Haahah
Usualy you can change the direction of wather on a bide, you just rotate the tip. And in general is for cleaning your but after poopig. I belive in exYugoslavina coutries bide was popular in '70 and '80, in now days almost noone install them in new buildings.
Nice video 📹 watching from Kathmandu nepal. 🇳🇵
Thanks for your videos. I enjoy them so much!
Yay!
Thanks for the video. I really enjoyed it. In the UK we call the type of market you went to a 'Carboot'. Carbooting is very popular here, also a lot of unsold stuff is left behind.
You guys are great and also always make me hungry! Enjoy my country also!
Eric's one foot pivot demonstrating how the bidet is used had me laughing out loud! Love your videos.
Thanks! -E
7:05 so, going to see Urauns is a bit of a stretch... got it.
It's fun to re-watch this series having now gone to Croatia (Including Zagreb)...
When I saw the Sun sphere in Zagreb knew what it was thanks to THIS... :)
17:47 LoL... ;)
Another brilliant episode. Smashed it guys. Best apartment tour ever. 😂😂😂😂😂
Glad you enjoyed! -E
That toilet/bidet camera back and forth was one of the best things I've ever seen on this channel and I've been here a while, lol.
Fun times in Croatia! That solar system scavenger hunt was pretty cool. I always like it when you include the costs of stuffs, so I missed the prices on some of your meals and lodging. Any pics of those paintings? Can't wait to see the eastern part of the country! Thanks guys!
We don't mention prices all the time although we try to, sorry! -E
I might be wrong about this but as far as I know that the contraption you thought at 34:47 as one for washing your bits is actually used to wash a baby especially one that still wears diapers.
The Nine Views art installation was very cool. And best of all you didn't even have to break your iron-clad rule to avoid museums;)
Love this video! All the food you two encounter always looks so amazing! Can’t wait to see the next adventure ^_^
Thanks!!!!! -E
With your comments, I think the apartment in Zagreb might be a great place for an artist or writer to camp while they work.
Absolutely!
Loved it that you went to a car boot (in the UK they are known as the "booter" and start at about 4am on a Sunday)
Maybe in some places,,, í think generally they're called car boot sales,,, free to trade in and
" boot " being ya USA trunk. :)
From what I understand you sit on a bidet.
It's basically the alternative option to wiping/a sink for your front bits :P
Pretty sure it's for washing your back bits.
Not always the gold. Looks at Eric. :D Always wanted to visit Croatia and get a glimpse the football stars first hand. Suker, Boban, Modric...
The flame in the boiler is the pilot light. In the UK that would be covered for safety. But the bidet in the bathroom was a silly design...
I think that model is based on "modern" designs with built in plumbing but without newer electronics
Oh, from Island od Man to my hometown ❤
What is that flea market that you were at? I'm from Croatia and even I don't know what that is.
Jakusevac? Gdje prodaju aute vikendom, i sve ostalo kao sto si vidjela na videu.😁🤷🏻♂️
laughing my ass off at Eric's toilet seat swivel. Fantastic moves!
It very nice how you explore city like you are going everywhere not just in tourist area :)
When we have time we prefer to dig as deep as we can! -E
very genuine and fun videos :D
at 35:02, that "sink" is for washing your feet and not for other parts of your body hahahah :P
Be careful where you put your feet, it's used for different body parts by different people if you scan the comments here. -E
spika is actually another slang word in Zagreb rooted in the english "speak" and basically refers to the way you talk or things you say. in zagreb in particular it's very common to use english terms and call someone a "frend" and stuff like that. Špica (which is what you were trying to say but were actually saying spika) comes from the german "spitz" which means point like the point of a cone.
Tram/bus tickets can be bought at news stands/kiosks!😉
Thanks for the video! :) Glad to hear you have embraced the swedish fika tradition :) And Kady always seems to have interesting toilet experiences. Haha...
Haha, Kyde is *still* doing fika to this day! -E
Pastry food is ok to eat in which ever caffee you want, you can not however bring a whole roast and spread it over table and eat like at home. You also can not bring in food to places that sell food.
Haha, I like the idea of bringing a roast in my bag. -E
wow awesome video guys thank you
You are welcome! -E
Assuming the object representing Earth was 2.5 cm in diameter and Kyde is ~5ft (1.52m) she would be about 3 nanometers tall.
I think that's about the same size as a few sugar molecules stacked on top of one another.
She's way too sweet to be so small! -E
What a pretty city Zagreb is. It's nice seeing the residential areas of different countries. I'm also glad the apartment turned out well since the outside could have been a little dicey. The bathroom was so funny! I am so with Kyde on the drippage. YIKES. Japan has got it right with the "all in one" toilet combo. LOL. I wish that was a thing here in the States bc TP sucks imo. XD
Jen H, you can order aftermarket bidet units online that attach to most US toilet models under the seat, and are pretty easy to install. Some even have a warm water option! No air dryers yet though!
Oh, they make them with air dryers for sure. Heated seats too. -E
Gee Ell Hey thanks! I should look into that. :D
Dropping the last roll of tp into the toilet with your very first attempt to get a sheet off it sucks. Bidets ftw.
so look forward to your uploads, your such a great couple and vlogger's (is that a word?) shame i'm skint and can't be a Patreon, one day :)
Hey, Guys. So I think about the bus ticket, you guys bought the tickets from the bus driver, awesome! But I think you still need to validate your ticket, by inserting your tickets to the yellow machine on the bus.... So see on your ticket, it shows an arrow to the right side with a little bit blank space, that arrow means you insert your ticket in to the yellow machine on that direction, and the machine prints a date and time on your ticket. Then from that date and that time, your ticket is going to be valid for the next 30 mins. At least that's how those things work on the German subway system. :) So technically you guys still ride that bus without tickets. As long as you didn't punch your ticket from the ticket machine, you can always use your tickets for the next ride. Nice try though!
Haha, yea, figuring out local transport can be the biggest part of the adventure, hahaa. -E
paper tickets for tram and bus you can buy at news stands, 4 kuna ticket for 30min ride
the bathroom conundrum is GOLDEN! i'm totally with ya'll tho
Kind of disappointed that Saturn didn't have rings.
the pastry eating on this channel is always awkwardly sexual
❤️
Špica and spika is not the same in Zagreb. Špica means the period of day when the places are crowded by the people e.g. restorants. And spika means conversation and does com from English for to speak. So we say spika to have a chat.
BTW, since I ought to speak German on daily basis my English has shrink and become sort of bad. It has to be "the period of the day" and dose come from English. BTW repit myself Špica comes from German and it stays for Spitze and it means the saqme in Gedrman. So if you visit Vienna or Salzburg look not to go eat your lunch or supper at the Spitze time. Would like to see soon in Austria.
Hey, guys, are you coming to north of Croatia? I am in city of Čakovec, so feel free to pop-up. Just 60 miles from Zagreb :)
We actually filmed this all back in the spring so unfortunately we aren't in Croatia right now! But in the video for next week we headed east! -E
I saw a youtube video about a year ago about a farmer who tilled his land with cars blocked in by the now very loose soil so they can't easily get out. The people parking there didn't have permission to park on his land and he got tired of asking for them to move. I saw another video this morning about the same farmer and as it turns out his property is on the border of the open flea market in Zagreb
I never really thought about the degradation of not having a proper bathroom... I guess not having one you understand fully how to comfortably use is almost the equivalent of being stuck somewhere that you have to go on the floor or something :P
Also, you can buy a ticket with a driver, but from this summer they only sell the ones for 90 minute drive for 15kn which usually costs 10kn at the newsstands and kiosks. Also, those paper tickets you can only validate at the first and last validator in the vehicle.
Just curious do y'all still live in Japan ?
Yep, in Japan right now. -E
Oh, right. Endless Adventure are Californians. I centred my description of a scale solar system on Sacramento because ..... yeah. Sorry! In context on a 1:1000000 scale, the Sun's a fireball covering the whole Higamiyasha Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Nagoya and the Earth's orbit passes over Kaga, Osaka, the ocean and the G 8 Yonaru CC at the foot of the near slopes of Mount Fuji. Neptune's orbit takes it back into yesterday, up the Pacific, across the Aleutian islands, over the Bering, East Siberian and Laptev Seas and across Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Burma and Thailand, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Marshall Islands.
THAT was, *really,* absolutely lovely...! Am now *dying* to visit Zagreb...seriously!! THANK You Guys, for yet another marvellous video; love you both ({: D ....!!!
Your videos are fun, entertaining, and I so appreciate the respect for the places you visit. You mix together in a fun way the odd discoveries and appreciation for Croatia. Hvala ljepa
It'll always be Burma to me..nice!
re the city buses - it's a bit cheaper to buy your tix in advance from the Libertas newspaper kiosks, or you can buy them on the bus. You frank the ticket in the machine to date stamp it and then you can reuse the ticket for a 2nd journey as long as you do so within 60 minutes.
haha you guys are unique, I've never seen any UA-cam travel vlogers going to these areas of Zagreb :) And yeah, I studied in Zagreb, lived there for years and almost never paid for a tram, it's common here to not pay for the ride, we call it švercati se which literally means smuggling yourself :) But if control catches you it can be unpleasant so you are constantly looking if someone will take the inspector ID out in the middle of the ride and start asking for tickets, so you strategically position yourself next to a door, so you can jump out on the next station, if they don't reach you by then, or you are next to a machine with a ticket ready, so you stamp your ticket if you notice them :) And I'm ashamed to admit that I had no idea about the solar system installation, passed by the Sun million times and always thought it is just Sun standing there, OMG, and I'm a space geek and scientific kind of guy, wtf, cannot believe it haha And tour of that bathroom was hilarious haha but that is obviously anciently equipped apartment but I think bidets are not a thing anymore, I don't see them as often installed in more recently equipped bathrooms and yeah, before tub was the norm, but they are going into extinction, showers are the norm now
That's a really cool looking place. Ya'll look healthy too :)
UA-cam Robots, This is quality content. =D
Thank you! -E
I had kind of the same experience in Rhodos last week with the toilet, there was just no lock at all. I guess they are not that into privacy in the south 😂 just kidding !
On the same scale a light year is 8645 miles and the nearest star is 33,700 miles
Its ok to bring food to the coffee place because coffee places don't serve food :)
and we don't really usually do skimmed milk and stuff, regularly every coffee with milk has whole milk in it :D its just that whilte coffee has a loot of milk :D
Yea, we always are unsure what the rules are about bring outside food into places as it tends to change with borders and we are worried about upsetting someone. -E
Yay for whole milk! I can't stand that watery stuff!
You buy the tickets on a paper stand anywhere in the city.
In Australia that would be a 'car boot sale/market'
Its possible to buy the paper ticket from the driver, just knock on his door haha and i think its more expensive than buying on the news stands / kiosk
Bidet advice: no rotating. You do your business, use toilet paper. Move over to bidet that was previously filled with warm water and the bidet soap. Sit on it (no facing the wall) and use hand to clean front and back. For men and women.
yeah for people who travel a lot, they sure don't know bathrooms that well.
Speecka (Spika) in Croatia is when you talk bs. 😂 Špica is Shpeetza on english.
You should have walked on the river bank, that's the way to get to the market...
Gosh, you two make great videos! It's nice to not just see the usual tourist attractions, thank you for exploring in your own way, it's very refreshing.
Glad you are enjoying our take! -E
Cedevita certainly isn't an underdog in Croatian basketball, they have biggest budget in the league. Cibona , right now, is on tough times now
We actually had trouble finding English language info, sorry if we mucked it up! -E
@@kydeanderic no biggie just giving you some info
Hi, Kyde and Eric
I feel for your guys.... I've been traveling to other countries before... I know how it's like (some of the countries I visited is like being on another planet).... so just go out there and have some FUN ! (like this video at #348) Greetings from U.K. : ) : )
Not sure why you "feel for us" as in American English that usually means something bad happened, we were having a great time in Croatia! -E
Alsoo you can talk to the driver of the tram. There is a little hole. He will here you, you just have to ask for a 30 minute ticket and he will give you. But it's sadly over now... I wish I could've met you!
You've missed Uranus and continued to go forward in the completely opposite direction. You've ended up in what, as far as I know, used to be a second-hand car market, but has grown into a general flea market. (As a cautionary note, you've mentioned that you passed by a military base, please don't film military objects as it is illegal and you might get in trouble.) Uranus is kinda hard to find though, it's in a parking lot of a residential building. My friend and I went there to find it when we were in high school and it took as a while. Neptune was even harder though, took us two tries. You have to go to the last stop of a bus line, and walk around a neighbourhood and it's on one of the electricity poles. You can't even walk to the Pluto plaque, it is on a pillar in the middle of an under pass on a very busy road almost on the edge of the city. To also comment on the scale, at this scale Australia would be about 1 light year away.
As for the Jupiter and Saturn locations. The roundabout with Saturn is just one block away from the self-proclaimed best high school in Croatia, which is the proclamation that I couldn't possibly be supporting just because I went there for four years. More importantly for tourists, it is on the way to the Maksimir park/ZOO. The road that Jupiter is on can lead you to the largest graveyard in Zagreb which contains an arcade where a lot of historical figures are buried, you'd also pass by my university as well.
We ended up finding all of them, actually, but it required a car! Haha. Such a cool installation. -E
@@kydeanderic Yeah, I wrote this before I saw more of your videos. Good job on finding them all. :)
Regarding the use of the bidet...
You do your business in the toilet, you clean yourself with toilet paper, etc... and instead of leaving a "stamp" in the boxers/panties and having the burning sensation, you sit on the bidet and wash your junk with a bit of soap.
It's a way of feeling clean without using the shower.
Haha, "stamp."
food at the flea market is the best, most delicious, because they dont wash their pots and pans
Truth.
30:33 love it. Can't blame you, most of downtown looks like Rape Alley. If I were to come to a new city and land at that location, I would think the same thing. Turns out it's a sought after part of Zagreb. For some reason we like crumbling facades.
Yea, the appearance is sketchy, but it seemed like a nice place after seeing it for a few days. -E
Sorry darlong for your expiance but that is not just croatian thing thins thing on the door is calle kljucanica but it is not croatian thing it just people dont want to spend more monay on proper doors..
Great videos. They smile a lot and they seem to eat a lot... how do they stay so thin?
Smiling burns calories. -E
Goosh I just love your videos so so much, thank youu ^^/ around 38:00 it reminds me of a house I lived for a month, they hat the waterheater/boiler with this all-time-flame INSIDE the shower /°_°\ facing the flame while take a shower was soo confusing, and scary because I have a fear of gas, always think it's gonna explode. Often the flame died, so you had a second to push the showerhead away because the water turned instant to icecold. Hahaha XD
Thank you for all the videos I've watched over all the years while I do write so little. Love how you explore the details surrounding you, making a own adventure about such things. That opend my eyes too to enjoy things we normally don't recognize. Have a wonderfull time, lovely greetings ^^/
Thanks so much! Your words are so kind! -E
A lot of people don't pay tickets, it's kind of a sport. It is called 'svercati'
Hahaa, did we win?! -E
@@kydeanderic Yes, because you didn't get caught and paid a fine (which you also could pay if you don't register the ticket).
Is it just me or the intro music was discontinued? that became like a theme song for this channel now.
Yea, I love the song but kind of got bored of it a few years ago. -E
