"Smart like tractor. Strong like bull."
How are tractors smart?
@@DeSmith-o4b fix a broken one😂
@@DeSmith-o4b It's a joke to signify that one may not be smart, but he is super tough. Listen to it in context. They skipped the training and just beat the guys.
@@DeSmith-o4b theyre not. Theyre just strong. The saying goes... "theres two types of rangers. Smart rangers and strong rangers." Apparently zero-mam was the strong one. Jk..
It’s supposed to be strong like tractor, smart like a rock.
This guy OOOZES standard issue American badass.
No man uses the word OOOZES
@RP-ue9wy Studs use any word we want lol
That’s hot
RIP = Ranger indoctrination program
It's the program you go to, to become an Army Ranger, meaning you are transferred to the 75th Ranger Regiment upon graduation. It is the Army Ranger selection process. It didn't really teach much about how to be a Ranger, and soldiers had to learn on the job once they get in.
In 2009, it was replaced by RASP (Ranger Assessment and Selection Program), with RASP I for E4 and below, and RASP II for E5+, O1+, WO1+. It provided more informative training. Upon joining the Rangers, you earn the Ranger scroll (which is a unit insignia), and the tan beret.
As for Ranger School, which is open to the entire military (all branches), it earns you the gold and black Ranger tab, and makes you "Ranger Qualified", but doesn't actually make you a Ranger, and does not transfer you to the regiment, and does not yield the tan beret.
Rangers are expected to at some point attend and graduate Ranger School. Ranger School teaches you a lot about leadership and small unit tactics.
Rangers lead the way! All the way!
Lead the way to invade innocent countries and Rob their citizens..? 😂
81? BLOOD & HONOUR
Not a school
E5 and below
what a great answer. You forgot to add, “Back when it was hard, now drop cherrie!”
Fucking love this dude
RIP Oct 92
Month long smoke session.....RLTW
Did rip in 87 it was just a kick in the balls everyday. With rasp at least they teach you something so u don't go to batt clueless. RLTW
We had 2 dudes hospitalized with renal failure. 1 with liver failure. RIP was deadly
Wow. Like... I have to ask, how did that happen? How did these dude's organs shut down?
@@seanhastings4432 I don't remember the class number but we started in July. And the 2 guys who had kidney failure were best buds. Which was crazy but they were both recycles from the class before, which was hot as fuck too. The one guy went down the pt session after night land nav. Which sucked and went on I feel like all night. We did eat and drank water though. His friend began to throw up on the road march, which was fast af. The medics took him right then, they called the ambulance for him. One of the RIP medics told us they had renal failure but would recover. Never saw them again. The liver failure guy went down right at the end doing cardiac hill repeats, he went from looking normal to being yellow as the sun. He started throwing up. I thought he was dead. Ambulance came and swiped him up. I saw him on post a few months later after he recovered some and he had a genetic liver disease. Got out the Army.
@@seanhastings4432not enough water
Rhabdomyolysis
So yt musta taken tge response down. But long story short the 2 renal failure guys, who were buddies had to be rhabdomyolosis. Medics and cadre said the actual cause was they are pussies. The liver failure happened doing cardiac hill repeats. He told me after he recovered some the doctors said he has a genetic thing that only shows if the body has some great assault on it self or periods of prolonged extreme stress.
That fucking shirt 🤌💜💯
In 1973 when I went through the Benning School for Boys there was no RIP or RASP. You had to have completed Infantry basic at Fort Polk, then passed Infantry AIT and preferably earned an EIB at Benning, then completed Basic Airborne training before being allowed to attend Ranger school. I passed and was assigned as a 2LT to 1st Bn 75th Infantry RANGER (A) at Hunter Airfield, Fort Stewart GA where I got my Black Beret.
RLTW!
It was the same when I was in the Army 20 years later
Your an American soldier all the way I salute you for the challenges they put you through 👍👍👍👍👍
Lol in 87 we graduated jump school and they ran us to R.I.P. When we got there an instructor came out and said we have to many people. We gathered with the hold overs. In starch and spits from graduation. Right face run we did the downing mile then back to the camp up the cargo nets down then up the other side back down up the ropes and then to the bleachers. The instructor invited people to quit. About 20% did. They all went to Italy 🤨😢 as punishment for failing RIP. The rest of us were allowed to sign in for the class to start the next day. 😂
Downing mile 💀 doing that 3 times in a row then up and down hills all day 😵💫
@@Mr_P_Rockzz IDK cadre led airfield runs them back up cardiac Hill was no fun. Or the same as buddy runs being no more than arms length with unknown time to complete. I sware they stole that from SFAS. 😜
He ain’t lying bro. Attrition rate of my class was 127 in, and 13 on the podium. #14 quit with 3 days left?!
“Smart like tractor” 😂😂
I love his assessment of RIP. The new RASP gets new rangers ready for war by being more technically and tactically sound. But RIP taught me how to ignore my mind and just drive on to the Ranger Objective.
Cadre: “Are there any questions”?
Trainees: *Silent*
Cadre: “No questions? Everybody outside, we’re gonna smoke you until there’s a heat casualty”
Trainee: “smoking dudes is gay”
Cadre: *emits the power of the sun from his eyes while staring into his soul*
John McPhee grade A American badass.
Today in the woke army he would fail sensitivity training
Are you in the woke army?
@@jolanderphilip yes. Just the other day our "Respect Officer" chewed me out for misgendering a female soldier. Its her mustache that keeps throwing me.
@@Truth_Hurts528For real?! I'm so glad I'm out.
I can tell you infantry training wasn't woke. They would smoke us in the Georgia summer until someone passed out from a heat cat
@@Truth_Hurts528 😂😂😂😂💀💀
When I got my heat stroke they told me that I was running and ran right into the DI. I didn't remember any of it lol. They said they didn't realize there was a problem until I ran right into him.
There are smart Rangers and there are strong Rangers. Be both, but if you had to pick one, be strong.
Enjoyed the podcast 👌
This guy’s by far the best interview I’ve seen, maybe ever tbh. His attitude’s f’ing perfect.
He's what you hope the top-notch SOF guys are like. Intense, funny, a little crazy, and total warrior.
@@RustyHeels06 couldn’t agree more, and someone who honestly doesn’t give a fuck. I have a mission, I’m going to complete said mission regardless of what many think.
Weird....i heard on an interview that the difference between seals and delta are: seals are just super effective killers, delta are the same caliber of killer but also are highly intelligent at trade craft as well
The epitome of some ppl are built different.
RIP 1989, so true what he said. Month long kick in the balls!
This guy is def a bit psycho and unhinged
Smart like tractor 😂😂😂😂😂
This is the guy that tells you I'll kick your ass I was a former Delta Force operator!! While wearing that shirt😂😂😂😂😂😂
The final boss of dads.
That's funny how he said he didn't want to tell anyone. I had a rough day in Marine corps bootcamp. Think I only had like 4 canteens of water that day. I didn't want the silver bullet, so just dealt with the heat exhaustion till we were done with the day. The next day was a black flag day. Good times
A privates life is the same no matter what army or what century. Pretty much.
I was there in rasp dudes would quit before we even got to the footprint from airborne school.
Touch the wood
Line
You just described Marine corps boot camp in one short sentence 😂
Marines go to Ranger school. Often it’s recon guys- they do very well. The cadre call all of them “gunny” - regardless of rank.
@@ReaganRepublicanRanger school isn’t RIP/RASP
Back then Rangers were known for looking almost frail lol... maybe like a marathon runner is a better description, I'm not sure. They ran the life out of them lol. Personally I wasn't there and I see the merit in making soldiers who don't quit but I think they over did the running. I would also assume that's why today they look like.... the special forces soldiers you'd expect. Big, strong, lean, et cetra and I know for a fact they don't run quite like they used to. Still beat the hell out of them but in a different way.
It’s crazy when you hear this dude talk. Sounds like an everyday cool father that minds his business. You would never know the Sheriff of Bagdad is one of the most dangerous people on the planet. It’s unreal
I don’t know what his name is but it needs to be Chad Powers.
He’s just gonna throw go and fade route from the start.
Went through RIP Summer 7-97. We started with around 100 and graduated 30. All heat casualties. Lost 15 on the run from Airborne School so they drove them back to Airborne School, so we started with 115 really.
Now. Days. Oh my. Baby. Chitttt. We. Rolled. Ha4d and. Never. Let. Up. Bob13
RiP Physical Training #1 you take 2 ammo cans (they are 25/30lbs) and you do walking lunges for 100 meters.
RiP Physical Training #2 you take 2 ammo cans you so step ups on a 14 inch box until you cannot do stepups.
I keep getting stoner/hippie vibes from this guy. I mean that in a good way he just seems like a funny SOB .I wouldn’t mess with him, but I would never ever think that he was SF. Not that I know what a typical SF guy acts like either.
This is a dude who claims he enjoyed Delta Force selection. For him to look back on RIP and say "that was the hardest thing I've ever done," that truly speaks volumes about RIP.
RIP in 1992 was insane. We had E5 Nam vets, Grenada, Panama, teaching and trying to kill us. wow. The instructors were beyond PTS. I was a jrotc turd at the time, i was in the company of Titans.
B co 2/75 RIP 1979… that man speaks the truth.. the quitters fell by the way side and the strong Survived. Ranger 9-80!
Now they say, “Great question Private Tentpole, remember guys, the only stupid question is the one not asked; who wants a Latte?”
When he spoke about airbourne school. He wasn't joking about that. That school was cake all the way up to the first jump.
1970's band camp was as as bad as football preseason. The flute players could pass Ranger school.
SRS, keep these guys coming on and opening up, please please please. We the people need what their experience has to offer!
Best video on the net on how to make MEN
AND HILARIOUS
We moved wall lockers up and down from the first and second floors for 2 weeks before our class even started
Class 08-15, worst suck fest ever in cole range. RLTW🤙🏽
RIP / Cole Range, Aug ‘95
“WOOD LINE AND BACK, GO!!” “YOU BETTER NOT BE LAST!”
Best 11 years of my Army career!
Bro learned nothing till i got to my unit. I was doing pushups my first year in the army.
That's why he's called legend! Pay attention 🇺🇲🤘
Rangers to get an average on their PT running portion have to run 5min on the 7min
That shrek dude is one in a million. He functions differently.
Hahahaha
he ain't lying. RIP March 1993.
I think he was 75th Ranger Regiment
ya and delta
1/75
He wasn't talking about Ranger School. He was talking about the Ranger Indoctrination Program(RIP). They are two completely different things.
Was searching for somebody to say that
This is the truth-I went through Ranger School when we had to do RIP first and they changed it because soldiers were getting injured and becoming heat casualties.Honestly,I feel it was better then because if you graduated during those times-there was zero quit in any of us.The standards were changed after I graduated and I believe it’s easier now than it was. When I got to 2nd Batt-everyone was a badass.
That was training, he just didn’t know it 🫡
I always get hate when I tell people u don’t need to be smart to be a ranger and this man confirms that. Ranger school is all 98% physical and 2% mental. I got turned down 4 times for Ranger school due to deployments and only way to get it was reenlisting. Everything I wanted was tied to that so I just did my time and left
BS you have to have a high GT score on the asvab.
@@shanehardin5589 nope. When I served u don’t need a high GT score. I know army SF requires a GT score of 110 and up. Don’t know if that’s still the standard for green beret selection. Listen to dude, he even said after RIP he didn’t learn chit. “Smart like tractor, strong like bull.”
Fr . When I was in a couple years ago , the DS would be like “ we will stop when there’s a heat cat” apart of me was like who will take one for the team 😂
Haven't heard that in a while...😊
This guy is definitely Genius level
I want to take this guys carbine class just on his personality alone 😁
If you pass out do you fail?
Night land nav and staying awake
You are only qualified and passed the course with the tab. You are a ranger when you have the scroll and get into a ranger bat. Dont get me wrong getting the tab is nothing easy, but not everyone that passes ranger school goes to a ranger bat. I was army infantry and I strongly believe ranger bats are the most bad ass guys alive in combat.
Very nice thats fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
👍🏻💯🇱🇷💪
I am glad he was on our team
This is the guy that rolled up that tailor right? 😂😂
My favorite clip!
You need to get Paul howe on
Sounds like basic Marine Corps Boot camp.
STFU. Everyone passes Marine boot camp.
Dude on here said he started with 120 and they graduated 30.
Not even close.
Here’s a rule of thumb for you marine corpse. If you have to keep telling everyone that you’re the king, you’re no king.
GoodOle Days!! 😂😂😂
Not ranger school, RIP/RASP is selection
He cracks me up
RIP 5/92
Pinch of sea salt in your water...
Ft Knox, '88. They smoked our ass like this for weeks.
Sleep deprivation, dehydration, 2 on 1 H2H combat. The hardest thing in my entire service was catching up on sleep. 😂
Dude yes! I was at Knox in 93. I always tell people that after my military service I slept for 4 years straight.
Hell yeah brother Knox 04 tradoc 5/15 Charlie Co
Ain't nothing like spending all day at the beach hahahaha NOTT!!! but I did get pretty decent at sleeping while standing up lol
What is his name?
It's cool to see a gay delta.
"Yooo someone passed out"
I couldn't take too much more myself🫠

Won't get to many men like him anymore...just certain generations are legends like the men of WW1 and 2 . I have no doubt they might be mythical to ppl 100s or even thousands of years from now.

😅😅😅
Ranger school is equal to Marine Corps bootcamp.
My generation was the best.
All this hardcore training talk and they still lost tails tucked.
Not really. They didn't lose a single guy for 18 months. They just had to leave eventually.
