    A very helpful video! It warms my heart to see equipment like bags used for a longer time, it's far more sustainable and combats the idea that you "have" to change your look and clothing etc. all the time (which is the idea pushed by ads).
    The wear and tear at the bottom of the bag is surprisingly quite minimal, considering how actively you have used the bag. The ripped seam, I think, could be quite easily mended, especially if one has access to e.g. strips of leather or some sturdy natural fiber fabric. I just bought a Räven bag after completely wearing out a normal Kånken backpack (only used it at university, but for 6 years, sharp-edged heavy books did a number on it). It is good to know that the bottom is the most susceptible to damage, so I'll maybe sew some strenghtening material to the bottom before any damage appears in the first place. Thank you for the video!

    Had mine for about 6-7 years. This exact backpack. Rips at the bottom in the exact same spots. I use it most everyday for work and I’ve washed it a few times. Holding up well so far.

    Like many have said. This video is gold for people wanting to buy it. I just bought the version two in the same color and im in love with it. I said to myself in the store after purchasing it that i will have this one for a long time. And its great seeing this video afterwards about how well it will hold up. You seem to be very active with it. Thanks bro

    Had a Haglöfs Tight for +15 years now. Zippers recently failed after much abuse and the waterproof interior lining has started to deteriorate. The bottom, exterior, straps are all fine. It's not a beauty but while I look for a replacement now - here with the bottom worn through is an absolute deal breaker! I actually had this wear happen on one of their winter jackets as well... so while Fjällraven looks great, for that price I want the stuff to last for 10 years minimum.

    Thanks for the tip off about the wear and tear on the bottom. I think I'll avoid placing it on hard / rough surfaces on that hard edge. Maybe just place it on its back instead.

    Nice review. I have the 20L version and have used it for 3+ years daily. It's still in perfect condition minus a bit of fading. I wish they'd implement the shoulder straps on their other bags along with the slanted side pockets. They are so practical and easy to reach on the go.

    I do IT work and just bought this bag hoping it would be a good replacement for my old OGIO that lasted 11 years. This makes me worry about the longevity of the bottom part. I normally throw my bags on the floor when I'm working in various situations. Guess time will tell.

    I have newly brought a g1000 Raven 20 and a drop of SPF to the bag. I tried to wash it with dish soap, make up remover for a couple of times and it stills stay here… while I may wash out the wax a bit and need to top up… very frustrating🥲 any tips? Thanks!

  • @lvchubby
    @lvchubby 8 місяців тому +2

    i have the raven 20 which is only one year old and only used for office commute, but the bottom edge has been discolored possibly by abrasion with clothes and seems it will be worn out like yours anytime. Reinforcement should be made at that position which is rather common in other backpack brands. While i like their aesthetics i’m rather disappointed with their quality and will not buy their products again.

    The bottom part is not acceptable ! I have got a Skogsö jaket. The inside of the sleeves have a few holes and wear appear after only 1,5 years of moderate wear. I have a cheap M65 parker with a simular fabric 65/35 poly/cotton. I did wear this for 10 years in winter with insulation autum and spring without and even on colder summer days. It didnt wear of even after 10 years. I think the quality here from FJ is planned obsolescence.

    • @sanjindumisic
      @sanjindumisic  4 роки тому +1

      Of course it is, 99% of the big brands out there live off their achieved and self promoted legacy (if they make it). All designed in Europe and made elsewhere, hyped up and most customers are not used to real good quality, they might never even seen barely used a fine quality made product. So what have we, companies selling more, people buying more etc. People don't use anything more than about 2 years these days =) I still use the backpack as it still serves my needs, the wear has gotten more at that bottom part, but elsewhere it's in super shape. Will patch it later.

    I also have this bag . I think it's a decent bag . However i heavily modified my one , i have no need for a laptop compartment, so i ripped out the rubber/ nylon and back support , to make one big compartment from the g1000 on the back to the front compartment. This makes a great bucket style bag for shopping. Yes that's right i mainly use it for shopping. I find it not the best for hiking, i have much better bags for that , but as a general use bag it's fine .

    I have a Fjällräven Singi 20L since 2019 and its as good as new with no splitting of the fabric at the bottom. You are supposed to wax them every 6 months. Not put them in a washing machine!!!!

    • @sanjindumisic
      @sanjindumisic  3 роки тому

      It tore apart long before being washed for the first time. You can wash them, big surprise for you? Why do you think they (or other companies) don't recommend washing? It's because people will do it wrong and complain on the product. By not recommending the company guard itself from failure complaints. Cotton can be washed... Waxing is needed for water repelling functions, not necessary otherwise, which depends on ones usage. There are backpacks that are stronger than this one. Although this one is really practical and all around well built.

    • @markjohnson2166

      @@sanjindumisic - G1000 is not designed to be washed. Mine has been on at least 40 trips in northern Norway. I always check the bottom of the bag for signs of wearing. There are none. It’s been left in the snow in -20+ climates and is perfect still. That material does not degrade like you have shown unless the material has been compromised in some way. I look after my kit, you obviously do not.

    • @sanjindumisic
      @sanjindumisic  3 роки тому

      @@markjohnson2166 I've seen many customers and all who had this backpack had the same problem (mass quality problem). Even more than mine, which was in better shape than most after 3 years. Every material can be washed, rain is water... 30 degrees every cotton material can stand. As you missed reading above, the washing did not tear the bottom, it degenerated long before. Didn't mean to trigger you, keep looking after your sweet little backpack.
