For someone who is just now learning Salsa, I have to say this is the best video I've seen so far. It gives you a large variety of moves that aren't super complicated and if you get through all of this and retain just half of it you will have no problems getting on the dance floor and doing Salsa confidently. Thanks to you for making this!

Still the best in 2019! I took a salsa class at the local Junior College. I learned more watching this for 2 hours than I did a whole semester in the class!

because teachers control the pace, i now this from other dances, if they would teach you , why would you go to the classes anymore? you go to a semester and you only find 2 3 things that are interesting anymore , unless you are a total beginner and then everything is new for you.

Best salsa tutorial I've found online!
My summary of the best parts to practise:
    9.20 Basic w. heel kick
    10.00 Basic side-to-side
    15.50 Outside turn w. man's side step
16.58 Outside turn w. right hand
18.15 Outside turn w. back break
21.03 Triple lady outside turn: outside turn left hand, outside turn right hand, cross-hand turn
23.30 Man's head wrap - cross-hand turn the lady, head wrap man
    23.59 Lady head wrap
29.30 Dile que no with 2 hand hold
31.30 Dile que no with loop lady: Cross hands, loop lady on 3 then loop man on 4
34.00 Sombrero: cross-hand turn, loop both simultaneously, dile que no
    36.10 Cradle (half a kentucky)
39.48 Man's right turn: man lets go of right hand and goes under own left arm

    -----------------------------
48.20 Hammer lock w. man ducking under his own left hand then lady free spin

53.30 Cross handed turn, rock back and lady spin - similar to Titanic but easier
57.00 Wrap lady with right hand then left hand

Your instructions, attention to detail and clarity made this really easy to follow. Before I knew it an hour had easily passed and I learned some great new moves! Thank you again for making this, definitely one of the better tutorials on the interweb!

Thanks. i needed this. I am taking beginner classes and they don't call the 3 and 7 steps "together" steps and that was throwing me off the entire time - was doing cha-cha trying to keep time, lol. 2 minutes into your video and now I have the pattern down cold now. Thanks! Now I can go back to class feeling like a boss, lol.

This comment is towards Yadisha. First as a Ballroom dance instructor this is definitely a salsa not a tango, so you must be blind. And second the women is beautiful. So just because you don't like your own image don't take it out on others. Great job both of you and keep up the good work.

This is the best video I've seen, it's easy to follow, you guys do a great job. Thanks so much for taking the time. What i like the most is that you repeat the steps over and over again and you do it slow so one can follow along then you do it from different angles. Hey, I just want to say that you both do a really nice job of covering basic movements and transitions. I have been dancing salsa for many years, but I am not a shamed to say that I come back to basics every once and a while to see if I can pick up something new - even within the basics. It's also very cool that you place movements and the time where those movements show up on the video. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video! Anyway, just wanted to say that this is very cool!

I already submitted an ownership affidavit with UA-cam :) because Geno tried to not pay for the completed video among making many racist, extremely rude remarks after violation our contract terms as far as length of production. I own the full video because I was never completely paid for my work. So I made the video available for everyone online for free. Thanks.

Lucrative Pictures Why are you submitting an affidavit now, because the video has reached almost a 1,000,000 viewers and I WAS TOLD you guys get some money when any video reaches the million viewers. If this is truth, it is a very tricky and smart move rosswoodshire. WHY YOU DIDN'T SUBMIITED ANY THING WHEN THE VIDEO HAD 200,000 VIEWERS. VERY SMART I HOPE GENO SUE YOU.

    • @nowlivefrom
      @nowlivefrom  10 років тому +8

roberto santos No, actually. I submitted it when the video was first uploaded to UA-cam last year. I appreciate all donations received & we're working to create more future content like this. And as for Geno suing me... haha. He broke our contractual agreement & in turn, doesn't own the rights to any of the media that I created. If he was interested in suing me after trying to steal my work, then I would love to see him in court. Truth is Geno is a rude, racist scumbag that tried to screw over a young producer out of just a couple hundred dollars. So instead of me pursuing legal action against him, I made the video available for everyone online for free.

    • @MXSchakal
      @MXSchakal 9 років тому

+Lucrative Pictures As you don't own the copyright of the persons included. Unless your contract states that in case of a violations it grants you special rights (like the right to redistribute), you don't have the rights to do so. In case its a regular contract with no such statements it renders your actions illegal. Why? Because any picture/video of a person that does not render you as not important (like in any holiday video) the persons own the rights on the pictures, i.e., you are not allowed to do anything without their permission. So better really check what your contract says.

wonderful. I cant wait for my boyfriend and I to practice this together. Thank you so much. I am mixed with Puerto Rican and so his my boyfriend.
I have taken paid Salsa lessons before in the past. I know the basic, where my boyfriend does not know his right from his left (I always joked that I have two left feet, he in the other hand must have 3) for he is horrible at dancing... anyway thank you so much for posting this..... God Bless....

Great video and instruction. It's one of those videos that a beginner or intermediate salsa student can view regularly to refresh his memory. Would enjoy seeing a follow-up video that builds on these basics and shows some more advanced moves.

Even though I prefer Salsa Cubana and I ain't a big fan of LA style, I actually found myself enjoying this video. You explain the pasos so well. Good work!

Fantastic explanation! The steps build up on each other very nicely and the tips on what to avoid are exactly the kind of things a beginner tends to get wrong. I also love the different angles every move is shown in and how each of their names in shown on screen. A+!! :D

Fabulous tutorial! Incredibly clean, CLEAR and smooth. I really appreciated the varied angles of the demonstrations, made a lot of sense than simply facing the camera! Bravo!

This is such a good video! I learned so much. I feel like I could just learn these moves and then I would have enough moves that I would not be boring to dance with more than a few times.
