Quick cash will always be my true favorite. It’s a mix of strategy and casual that is just perfect. There is never an objective without a fight and you can switch your loadout throughout the whole game

The point system is such a joke, exactly because of what you’re saying. It loves to punish you for losing, even if you were the only one on your team doing work, and gives you a pitiful amount of points for winning most of the time. I’ve done 20 bombs in TA with very good stats and still lose 1000+ when I lose, and then only get about half the amount of points with a win and similar stats. It’s also funny how the majority of ruby ranks don’t even have enough points to be considered diamond. It just shows how much of a joke ranked is this season.
Thing is, cheaters have been a problem since the other seasons but its getting worse and worse. Cashout it wasn't as bad because there was ways to win and even beat the cheaters with heal beam. There was ways to combat them and victory was possible, just very slim. In Terminal Attack, its the worst. No regen, snipers, LH1 across the map and you generally just have no clue where they could be. Its a determent to the game and the gamemode being so bad is also whats ruining it. I'm already not enjoying the gamemode, now I gotta deal with a cheater? BRING BACK RANKED CASHOUT!!!
Powershift is hella fun with friends and it's my preferred mode because it's so accessible to my friends, but cashout will always have my heart and be the mode I play the most, but i'm preferably trying to put people on to the game and terminal attack definitely not the way and cashout is simply too hard.
Totally agree with all this. TA right now does not feel good. Cheaters, bad meta, balance issues, ranking system, etc... TA has way more cheaters than I've ever encountered at any other time playing The Finals and I've been playing since open beta. I really appreciate this dev team and all they have done, but the fact that this rank mode feels so bad, means they really need to step it up and fix it since it was their decision to make it the ranked mode this season.
another thing to add is the simply insane amount of ppl who just... leave. mid match. and also don't reconnect, thus making our side lose and "punishing" us for poor performance even tho we've lost a chunk of our firepower, especially in a game mode where you cant re spawn its just a instant loss, if a teammate disconnects then it needs to be much more forgiving bc its literally every few rounds anymore
Yea the leavers are crazy. I will say though, as a PC player the game does occasionally crash/freeze on the loading screen. I do think this is why a lot of people leave mid game, so I don't hold that against anyone. It's happened to me a few times but thankfully I have a decent PC and can connect back pretty quick. Can't speak for console players and if they experience the same issues. Still though, you are right in that as soon as someone leaves it's like a 80% chance you will lose that round. I feel the fair thing would be to significantly reduce the loss penalty for the team that has the leaver if they lose. If they win, they should get some bonus points for winning at a disadvantage. The person who left should be punished more harshly. A loss of points and a longer timeout to discourage leaving on purpose. Hopefully there is a way for them to distinguish between people who leave on purpose and didn't reconnect vs people who crash and did reconnect.
Im still surprised voice chat is still default off in ranked modes; I get avoiding toxicity in casual but it makes strategizing in ranked near impossible
For me personally, powershift for when I wanna chill and possibly get clips, bank it for practicing weapons im not comfortable with, and world tour for when I feel like being competitive

Overwatch has felt so terrible lately, been enjoying power shift way more. It's specifically because there's TWO teams going at it. I hate 3rd partying, it has me never touch a battle royale. I just want respawn game modes with one team vs another. That's it.
Terminal Attack got me back into the Finals after trying it on launch. Cash Out has a big learning curve imo that combined with learning the gunplay and equipment made me bounce off the game. But having played other search and destroy modes before, terminal attack was comfortable to start with and learn the mechanics. Maybe once I’m more comfortable with the gameplay I will enjoy cash out more. I have experienced some cheaters and lots of very uneven team matchups which definitely puts a damper on things. I hardly ever have close matches, it’s either my team bulldozing the other team, or getting hopelessly destroyed ourselves. I hope they find solutions and improve the mode so the community gets more behind it! Or I hope I find my love for cash out since that’s what most people enjoy hahaha.
Rank system suck with all the inconsistent earnings of rank points ~30mins of game and their "improvement" they mention on season 3 launched - truely wasting my time. i would rather rank cashout (World Tour) and get 3rd party all day and embrace the chaos. I hope they fix this before season 4 before i quit.
I hit diamond in the finals last season... and then they removed ranked. On top of the random toxicity + insta quitting in quick cash when something goes wrong + racist / homophobic steam names + lack of communication + removing ranked entirely was the icing on the cake. I'd have to agree with a lot of the comments here and say powershift is my preferred game mode, and that goes for a few of my friends, and even my girlfriend. It's just a fun mode you can play after a day of work, or after you get done playing other games and want a less competitive, yet still social and collaborative FPS game mode. edit: personally if I wanted to play a 5v5 shooter like TA I'd go play anything EXCEPT the finals (valorant, cs2, etc.) ideas are cheap but execution is priceless... and damn did they mess up with TA. Dropped the ball on the anti-cheat; but, every game is having problems with cheaters right now... Even then we can look at their failure to please their target audience.
Sorry to hear that you played with/against user with racist username I had the same experience last season in Quick Cash too. That player had a racist name towards Chinese/Asian ppl that caused my Chinese teammate to left the match (I didn't won that match, but at least I get to RPG'd his ass in the last 5 seconds of the match)

Honestly feels like setting up an inhouse league for TA might be something that would be a great thing to set up. I think thats something I'll look into, getting the known cheaters and boosters out of the pool would really let the meta flourish, its neat to see that theres more depth to it than people assumed at first
Terminal Attack is slow, static, and the encourages turtling and ambushing tactics in a game which is designed to fundamentally be fast, dynamic, and aggressive. The fact that revises and healing are disabled (two core features of the game) is testament to the fact that it doesn't fit with the existing toolkits. I'm honestly staggered that Embark made this decision and I'm even more disappointed that they're committed to pursuing it for the entire season despite almost universal pushback and low player uptake.
Our 5 man has been playing The Finals for the past couple of weeks & it’s been super fun! We normally do Cod, apex, or Val. I think we all prefer terminal attack because it’s a lot less strategy. For my newer friends, it’s easier to adapt vs dealing with heals and revives.

Idk, I quit during season 1 due to cheaters. Came back at the end of s2, a few days before s3, and I only played 10-12 terminal attacks. Enough to get ranked (got high gold) and a few more to get to plat. Haven't played ta since then tho. I've ran into quite a bit of cheaters in world tour tho. Cross mapping me with the m11, lh1, etc... not even hiding it. Idk if they're carrying someone for leaderboards bc ... you don't get a skin for it, just some in game currency. The cheating in world tour isn't as bad as s1 was, but it's there still. Just more rare instead of every single game like it was back then.
Honestly the cheaters ruined it for me, I wish I knew when I was still top 200 how many cheaters there was, I would have never played again rather than lose my Ruby AKM spot. I didn’t want to believe it but some of these people are being so obviously. I’ll run to the back of spawn at the beginning and sit in a building, the cheater will go on the other side of the wall, throw an explosive barrel to distract me, and then enter a different way assuming I turned around-- something similar to this has happened over 10 times since last week. There has to be some kind of new cheat going around and it’s honestly a shame. I loved the game mode ( although snipers control too much space in a game where people can be anywhere
I've been avoiding BI and TA due to how toxic the modes can be. In TA players often leave losing round 1 leaving usually 2-3 players left, then the game not feeling like it wants to support it's mechanics when things like sonar grenade stamp out most defense plays, or healing beam she defib being disabled, it's not fun to sit there and constantly get hard countered for the mistake of running a different build. In bank it it's racking a few good kills to be chased, usually by a light, for a full minute to a cash out to get blasted and have my hard earned stuff stolen out right. It feels like a game of tag where the losers are the ones winning
Probably would help immensely if TA wasn't a bo7 format taking literal ages to go through even if your team is getting bodied by the other and vice versa
I loved this game for the first two weeks i played. I mean utterly dominating people. Then i tried ranked and realized i was getting smacked and tracked by lights everywhere i go. Even if i crouched walked. Only to realize the game is cross platform and was getting matched up with hackers.
I thought that 5v5 (TA) and "an overwatch style mode" comp (Powershift) would be sweet as the competitive modes.. But the more time goes on and the more matches I play it's either the fact that the MMR/Ladder systems aren't aligning properly or that the game modes don't suit competitive Finals as well as I'd imagined- I really would prefer World Tour/Cashout Tourneys over these alternatives now. Also- I thought for the longest time this season that in TA, planting the obj vs. simply wiping the enemy was why I would earn more- so I MADE SURE to plant EVERY match that I could. And it'd sometimes still go down even though I won? Making me believe it's just a roll of the dice that my enemies Elo is lower or higher and THAT defines whether I gain or lose points...
i solo qued into a team of solos (mainly golds) against the same five stack (3 plat 1 ruby 1 really good unranked player) TWICE in a row today in Asia server, didn't lose much points but wasted a whole hour on it, had to change server to NA to avoid it. Disgusting.
Hey Appoh I’m current top 500 on Xbox. I know a console bot but hear me out. The console scene ain’t too good either. First off your right the player base is so small rn with TA especially once you get to high elo u find yourself playing the same teams honestly. So you’d think let’s hop on cross play and play pc. WRONG you literally run into cheaters so often all the console players avoid pc lobby’s b/c of the rampant cheaters. So why I am complaining about console lobbies you may ask. Well the number 1 player resides on Xbox so him and his ziming/cronus buddies pup stomp and even if you don’t play them you play low elo teams. And if you do that then they don’t wanna play so your back in lobby waiting for 30 mins Just to not play. Shits not fun rn tbh. I’m tryna hit diamond then just hold it for the ruby ak.
Want to share my rank experience here too: I lost a game at about 4-7 / 5-7, and although my team's overall RS is lower than the enemy, I lost about 900RS Meanwhile, I choke a 6-1 lead yesterday, but one of my teammate left half game, and I only loss about 350RS, despite also having the team overall RS lower than enemies (possibly because my teammate left) But I should mention my overall performance too: that 4-7 loss game I didn't do quite well, while the 6-1 choke I believe I did about 2nd-3rd best on my team, so that might affect the RS movement I am in Silver 3 (demoted to Silver 4 yesterday) btw
yeah personal performance seems to matter a bit when testing with people of similar rank to me and talking about gain/loss after matches it seems to be within a few hundred maybe 2 hundred ish variance but it doesnt match with kills, objective score seems to matter a bit though, the difference also was very inconsistent sometimes the person with the most combat score, objective score and kills didnt get the most rs so it's very confusing
@@Appoh Today I learned that RS variance isn’t correlated to kills But I think it’s very difficult to correlate RS to mostly objective scores, since most of the round would usually end with a team wipe before objective being played
Ngl, I just don't like TA in The Finals. The game at its core is not designed around it. When we look at successful popular titles like CS, R6, and Valorant we can easily see that the maps, agents, weapons, movement, and TTK are ALL intricately thought out and designed with the intention of creating a competitive tactical shooter experience. The Finals doesn't have that intentional intricate design like the aforementioned titles and as a result, it feels... eh. It feels like Call of Duty, SnD, which was never the premiere game mode. And for good reason.
If they really want a 5v5 ranked game mode, why don’t they just do power shift? They could add a few changes like nerfing the sniper's range and damage, having offensive and defensive rounds, and adding checkpoints. It could be pretty cool.
@@kaydenchavez4607 I agree. There is shared blame though. Embark has been “too happy” about the change, they should’ve brought community feedback to Nexon and gotten it changed months ago. Arrowhead showed Sony the problem with their change, they resisted and were vocally displeased with needing a PS account to play Helldivers. All we get is Oscar lying to our faces repeatedly while they deliver no content every week.
@@arcanum3882 it’s also very possible that embark may be scared to really say anything to nexon. Nexon doesn’t exactly have a great past. You can look at their wiki, and see how many games they’ve shut down. Without nexon, embark doesn’t have money
I play powershift and cashout tournament, def love powershift id hate to see them leave, I never play bank or but it's definitely next to powershift for solo play
I absolutely love bank-it, but there is no progression what so ever. world tour has a leader board and a progression system, Ranked is ranked, powershift for challenges or short games, but for bank-it, there not really any reason to play it. My most played game mode, changes every season it seems S1: Bank-it S2: power shift S3: World tour
I've not grinded this season, but I think They need to bring more value to medium within this game mode, There is close to no reason to play medium in it's state. They have stripped medium of the ability to heal and res (Heal beam & Defibulator) Which was the (meta) core point of medium being able to support your team. I don't see how bringing back the ability to revive and heal a teammate would be so detrimental to the "tactical" Point of TA. Obviously have some limitations to defib and heal beam. What I was thinking was have it so You can only defib ONCE like other abelites in game. For heal beam you could have it so the Cool Down on the heal beam does NOT reset so you could only heal around 250 - 300 total HP (I don't know the exact number of HP you can heal with one charge but it is around that range) But they need to do something, this game does not seem paced correctly and I feel like this could bring some good into TA.
In Paladins, when you’re getting shot you get reduced healing from all sources, 30% at the start of match all the way to 90% during last round. Embark could add that to Finals too, so that healing beam cannot be used to disrupt fights but rather to heal up after the fight's over. On that note, they should definitely add more healing items for other classes like stims and healing grenades, so that not every team is forced to have a healer for a consistent source of heal.
When it comes to RS, parties are weighted toward the maximum RS of the party. The UI is apparently only showing the sum of RS. So, if you play on a team with a party with a large RS gap, RS changes will be different than you expect.
The ranked system in THE FINALS is by far the worst I have ever seen - your personal input makes no noticeable difference & I have taken many pictures of being 18000-25000 rank and playing with people who are 40000-60000 AND RIGHT AFTER you play with people who are un ranked/5000-13000 The more you play the more ranked points you lose
Something to mention is since I’m top 5 for TA somewhere around 69k rs…usually my team has an overall 100,000rs more than the other team. If I do lose I am only losing around 700-800rs meanwhile my teammates who are lower can lose up to 1.3k rs which to me makes no sense. I’ll have the highest rs and still lose the least, meanwhile the amount I gain will always be a certain number that just keep slowly getting lowered. It was 285rs for awhile and that didn’t matter of I had gotten 14kills in the match or only 1kill. The performance side of things definitely don’t add up and never seem to actually matter and is all really confusing especially since that’s what is described as the way you’ll be judged by how much rs you’ll receive
I feel like terminal attack would be better if healing and rezzing wasn't banned. Like, no passive respawns somewhat makes sense, but needing to solo multiple people because of the incompetency of your team is just dumb. At least make it so it’s a decision to either rez some team mates or control the objective. It also feels bad with the limited supply of the gadgets. Only having 1 RPG shot or dome shield just makes it feel like it's not even worth using those gadgets.
@Appoh heal and defib stacking is a problem throughout the game. So I definitely see that problem arising. If anything heal and defib stacking itself needs to be addressed, though, I'm not sure how without some arbitrary limitation.
@Appoh I agree. I heard someone on the discord suggest a rework that makes the heal beam into a stationary deployable on a cooldown. Possibly a drone that you toss on teammates that's on a cooldown would work too. As for defibs, possibly making it so that rezzing with defibs takes longer for the rez target to respawn each time they are rezzed within a certain time frame would work. Another fix could be being able to glitch the defib silhouette to stop the rez.
Ive been stuck at gold 1 and plat 4 threshold for weeks now its basically impossible to get past as there is no one playing oce servers and i have to play on asia or NA but asia is full of cheaters so its quite annoying. but i did play this one round where i won against 4 ruby players and received 1.9k rs
Cashout has also become really weird. I'm a leaderboard grinder so I go for max cash, double stacking vaults, opening and depositing vaults, no wipes, getting team wipes etc but despite the leaderboard being the only real 'grind' available the player base seems split between casuals who just want to play cashout tournaments, leaderboard grinders and people who fit between those two types who just want to get to the finals no matter how little cash they get. They need to fix their premier mode, I think it's really hurting the game, this is going to be a long 3 months for Finals players.
Nice to not have cheaters in tournament Cashout. :) Imo there is no way TA Ranked is not a result of pressure from Nexon. Embark can’t be that naive. Just pray the game isn’t shut down in the next few months.
I've actually been on my grind this season trying to get content out to both attempt to draw in new players and educate people so they stay along with addressing issues that need fixed because I truly want this game to thrive.
I played world tour for the first time today because queue times are up to 45 minutes for me on oce so I switched. Regions to na to play and it was the most fun I’ve ever had on the finals (I also didnt play ranked last season cuz I just started and by the time I unlocked it the season changed)
Cheaters are so abundant even in WT, like I feel like I have to question people with diamond FCAR skins if they're legit or if they're cheaters. It's detering from grinding to gold 1 in WT really, so in other modes that must be crippling to any motivation to move forward in games.
Yep,they nailed it with Quick Cash. In S2 I played Casual Terminal Attack & and enjoyed it a little bit. I've played ranked once; because light weapons feel busted to fight.
i lost 1500 against an all Ruby team, i did better than my ruby teammate, i was 9-6, he was 6-8, more DMG and all,. he lost 1200 , enemy team had 21k overall than us lmfaooo
One of the cheaters I faced stopped playing after reaching Ruby, sadly I doubt they will ever be banned and the account will probably just be sold or something.
I play most days throughout the week after work. The finals is my favorite game to play atm, I’ve been playing since the beta. I played ranked and played the other modes time to time. I was diamond first two seasons. So, anyway the game was so good in the past but now the ranked mode is TA which for me isn’t all that fun because the 5 v5 seems to be a trashy mode, 80% of the time I’m carrying bots that don’t know how to use a controller. The matches are having trouble connecting due to people leaving the game. I hate playing and having a person leave in the first round. So now I and 3 others are down a man the whole series. I’m don’t plan on sticking around if it continues to be the ranked.
The game is obviously factoring in your performance on the team compared to everyone else on your team it literally says that at the bottom " changes your rank score depending on the outcome of the match and probabilities affected by your opponent's rank score and contributions to your team's success" The game obviously puts a big chunk in your performance on the team. if you do really well on a team that loses you will gain points and if you do really poorly on a team that wins you will win you'll lose points
I love wourld tour but I’m kinda scared to play it cause the last time I left a game (cause I had to eat dinner) I got suspended for 2 hours and I don’t wanna risk having to leave again
Powershift is perfect for practice/warming up and leveling up the weapons/gadgets you dont normally use. Its still a really good game mode just not as good as yhe rest.
"let em cook with TA" cash out is just way way more fun despite the third parties. Rather a 3rd party kill me after non stop action than being killed after one or two 1v1s and having to sit out the rest of the round(or just waiting the whole round til last second) . CS2 is the much better game for this
I grinded top 100 when season launched, but after that it was basicly cheaters every, single, game. It became extremeley unfun to keep playing. Dont get me wrong most cheaters are bad at the game so it wasnt realy a problem to at least go positive over a session of playing , but it just became a matter of "can i snipe headshot the cheater 1st try b4 he beams me cross map" and ultimatley it felt more luck based than anything else weather we would win or loose a game.
Me and my friend are curently aroun 50-150 in leaderboards , biggest problem 4 us is finding games. Avrage q time is aroun 1h30m to find 20 minute games.
Solo q is nearly impossible i have played rank ta all season and i can loose days profress in one sitting as the loss is so much. Today i was 39k rs and went to 32k rs 3 games cheaters…. And they had boosted rubies some games were unfair matchmaking…. And some games were close 6-7 bit you loose 1.3k so its so fucking hard to climb unless you have all the time in the world
I'm too old and too busy to spend my gaming time playing less fun game modes, Ruby skin or not. TA is ok, but cashout is just better. I actually feel kinda bad for not supporting the ranked mode this season, but I just don't care about it. Especially with support medium being neutered which is kinda my go to.

TA ranked is one of the worst game modes I’ve ever played. It’s Embarks worst decision to date. It’s unplayable for all the reasons you listed. The ranked skins are not worth the headache.
Whoever is doing the balancing at embark is obviously a low elo player since a lot of balance changes make no sense. Nerfing c4 to where it's useless in general for example, c4 was never the issue. Making c4 mobile was the issue. Recent medigun nerf is another good example. They decreased how much it can heal before it overheats but that was also never the issue. Active mid-fight healing was the issue. Instead of nerfing medigun healing with someone is hit to 20% for 1 second they just decrease how much it can heal before overheating. never actually touching the original issue. LH1 being buffed to 52 damage so it takes 1 less breakpoint for everything and saying it should match the old dps is also another great example. Nerfing heavies mesh shield every update by 100 instead of just making it 300 heath with a quick recharge time so it's a proactive tool and not just a fight staller... Making all gimick weapons better than actual aim orientated weapons. Daggers, Sword, Flamethrower, etc... Nerfing already underpowered weapons like m60 & burst pistol for light. Dash is unbelivabely unfun to play against and invis is just cheap damage. Light never needed any of these busted ass buffs, the playerbase just wasn't good enough to run it in ranked and asked for buffs not realizing how unfun the game was gonna become. Also not to mention how horrid their manual ban team is, I've been false banned 3 times on the same account and unbanned twice. They're sticking with the latest ban and refuse to accept any evidence and claim they're 100% certain I've cheated. They have an active history of dishing out manual bans to decent players. This one is personal but despite this I still fight cheaters in ranked TA on my alt account daily. This games future is looking grim if this continues, half my friends don't even wanna boot the game up due to how unfun it is to fight light snipers and there is one in 90% of all powershift matches.
The mmr is very consistent. You just need to look at all of the pieces of the puzzle . Your personal rank Your team's rank ROUNDS WON your personal performance. If you SHOULD have 7-0d (based on your team having way more mmr) you could lose mmr for winning if it's 7-6 If you SHOULD have been top performer, (based on your personal mmr vs the lobby) and you're bottom, you could lose mmr. The game makes decisions about what SHOULD happen before the game starts. If you don't meet that, you'll lose mmr/gain less than you "should" look at all the pieces of the puzzle and you'll understand, and you'll see it's consistent.

another thing to add is the simply insane amount of ppl who just... leave. mid match. and also don't reconnect, thus making our side lose and "punishing" us for poor performance even tho we've lost a chunk of our firepower, especially in a game mode where you cant re spawn its just a instant loss, if a teammate disconnects then it needs to be much more forgiving bc its literally every few rounds anymore
yeah that part is really annoying in all game modes but in ranked its really annoying
Yea the leavers are crazy. I will say though, as a PC player the game does occasionally crash/freeze on the loading screen. I do think this is why a lot of people leave mid game, so I don't hold that against anyone. It's happened to me a few times but thankfully I have a decent PC and can connect back pretty quick. Can't speak for console players and if they experience the same issues.
Still though, you are right in that as soon as someone leaves it's like a 80% chance you will lose that round.
I feel the fair thing would be to significantly reduce the loss penalty for the team that has the leaver if they lose. If they win, they should get some bonus points for winning at a disadvantage.
The person who left should be punished more harshly. A loss of points and a longer timeout to discourage leaving on purpose. Hopefully there is a way for them to distinguish between people who leave on purpose and didn't reconnect vs people who crash and did reconnect.

Terminal attack in general is not popular. nobody wants to play it because the game isn't made for it. It's balanced around and made for cashout.
Based on the elo system its rewarding you for not playing once you are at the top to avoid risking the loss

For me personally, powershift for when I wanna chill and possibly get clips, bank it for practicing weapons im not comfortable with, and world tour for when I feel like being competitive

Overwatch has felt so terrible lately, been enjoying power shift way more. It's specifically because there's TWO teams going at it. I hate 3rd partying, it has me never touch a battle royale. I just want respawn game modes with one team vs another. That's it.
Terminal Attack got me back into the Finals after trying it on launch. Cash Out has a big learning curve imo that combined with learning the gunplay and equipment made me bounce off the game. But having played other search and destroy modes before, terminal attack was comfortable to start with and learn the mechanics. Maybe once I’m more comfortable with the gameplay I will enjoy cash out more.
I have experienced some cheaters and lots of very uneven team matchups which definitely puts a damper on things. I hardly ever have close matches, it’s either my team bulldozing the other team, or getting hopelessly destroyed ourselves.
I hope they find solutions and improve the mode so the community gets more behind it! Or I hope I find my love for cash out since that’s what most people enjoy hahaha.

Rank system suck with all the inconsistent earnings of rank points ~30mins of game and their "improvement" they mention on season 3 launched - truely wasting my time. i would rather rank cashout (World Tour) and get 3rd party all day and embrace the chaos. I hope they fix this before season 4 before i quit.
I hit diamond in the finals last season... and then they removed ranked. On top of the random toxicity + insta quitting in quick cash when something goes wrong + racist / homophobic steam names + lack of communication + removing ranked entirely was the icing on the cake.
I'd have to agree with a lot of the comments here and say powershift is my preferred game mode, and that goes for a few of my friends, and even my girlfriend.
It's just a fun mode you can play after a day of work, or after you get done playing other games and want a less competitive, yet still social and collaborative FPS game mode.
edit: personally if I wanted to play a 5v5 shooter like TA I'd go play anything EXCEPT the finals (valorant, cs2, etc.) ideas are cheap but execution is priceless... and damn did they mess up with TA. Dropped the ball on the anti-cheat; but, every game is having problems with cheaters right now... Even then we can look at their failure to please their target audience.

its a SLOW paced Game mode, in a FAST paced game, theres ALOT of issues in that already, so it needed alot of tweaking
Honestly feels like setting up an inhouse league for TA might be something that would be a great thing to set up. I think thats something I'll look into, getting the known cheaters and boosters out of the pool would really let the meta flourish, its neat to see that theres more depth to it than people assumed at first
Terminal Attack is slow, static, and the encourages turtling and ambushing tactics in a game which is designed to fundamentally be fast, dynamic, and aggressive. The fact that revises and healing are disabled (two core features of the game) is testament to the fact that it doesn't fit with the existing toolkits.
I'm honestly staggered that Embark made this decision and I'm even more disappointed that they're committed to pursuing it for the entire season despite almost universal pushback and low player uptake.
Our 5 man has been playing The Finals for the past couple of weeks & it’s been super fun! We normally do Cod, apex, or Val. I think we all prefer terminal attack because it’s a lot less strategy. For my newer friends, it’s easier to adapt vs dealing with heals and revives.

Idk, I quit during season 1 due to cheaters. Came back at the end of s2, a few days before s3, and I only played 10-12 terminal attacks. Enough to get ranked (got high gold) and a few more to get to plat. Haven't played ta since then tho. I've ran into quite a bit of cheaters in world tour tho. Cross mapping me with the m11, lh1, etc... not even hiding it. Idk if they're carrying someone for leaderboards bc ... you don't get a skin for it, just some in game currency. The cheating in world tour isn't as bad as s1 was, but it's there still. Just more rare instead of every single game like it was back then.
Honestly the cheaters ruined it for me, I wish I knew when I was still top 200 how many cheaters there was, I would have never played again rather than lose my Ruby AKM spot.
I didn’t want to believe it but some of these people are being so obviously. I’ll run to the back of spawn at the beginning and sit in a building, the cheater will go on the other side of the wall, throw an explosive barrel to distract me, and then enter a different way assuming I turned around-- something similar to this has happened over 10 times since last week. There has to be some kind of new cheat going around and it’s honestly a shame. I loved the game mode ( although snipers control too much space in a game where people can be anywhere
I played two game and in both game people just kept leaving because they were losing
I've been avoiding BI and TA due to how toxic the modes can be. In TA players often leave losing round 1 leaving usually 2-3 players left, then the game not feeling like it wants to support it's mechanics when things like sonar grenade stamp out most defense plays, or healing beam she defib being disabled, it's not fun to sit there and constantly get hard countered for the mistake of running a different build.
In bank it it's racking a few good kills to be chased, usually by a light, for a full minute to a cash out to get blasted and have my hard earned stuff stolen out right. It feels like a game of tag where the losers are the ones winning
TA was hated by alot of people and to bring it to the MAIN mode is wild
Probably would help immensely if TA wasn't a bo7 format taking literal ages to go through even if your team is getting bodied by the other and vice versa
I loved this game for the first two weeks i played. I mean utterly dominating people. Then i tried ranked and realized i was getting smacked and tracked by lights everywhere i go. Even if i crouched walked. Only to realize the game is cross platform and was getting matched up with hackers.

I thought that 5v5 (TA) and "an overwatch style mode" comp (Powershift) would be sweet as the competitive modes..
But the more time goes on and the more matches I play it's either the fact that the MMR/Ladder systems aren't aligning properly or that the game modes don't suit competitive Finals as well as I'd imagined- I really would prefer World Tour/Cashout Tourneys over these alternatives now.
Also- I thought for the longest time this season that in TA, planting the obj vs. simply wiping the enemy was why I would earn more- so I MADE SURE to plant EVERY match that I could. And it'd sometimes still go down even though I won?
Making me believe it's just a roll of the dice that my enemies Elo is lower or higher and THAT defines whether I gain or lose points...

Hey Appoh I’m current top 500 on Xbox. I know a console bot but hear me out. The console scene ain’t too good either. First off your right the player base is so small rn with TA especially once you get to high elo u find yourself playing the same teams honestly. So you’d think let’s hop on cross play and play pc. WRONG you literally run into cheaters so often all the console players avoid pc lobby’s b/c of the rampant cheaters. So why I am complaining about console lobbies you may ask. Well the number 1 player resides on Xbox so him and his ziming/cronus buddies pup stomp and even if you don’t play them you play low elo teams. And if you do that then they don’t wanna play so your back in lobby waiting for 30 mins Just to not play. Shits not fun rn tbh. I’m tryna hit diamond then just hold it for the ruby ak.

I lost a game at about 4-7 / 5-7, and although my team's overall RS is lower than the enemy, I lost about 900RS
Meanwhile, I choke a 6-1 lead yesterday, but one of my teammate left half game, and I only loss about 350RS, despite also having the team overall RS lower than enemies (possibly because my teammate left)
But I should mention my overall performance too: that 4-7 loss game I didn't do quite well, while the 6-1 choke I believe I did about 2nd-3rd best on my team, so that might affect the RS movement
I am in Silver 3 (demoted to Silver 4 yesterday) btw
yeah personal performance seems to matter a bit when testing with people of similar rank to me and talking about gain/loss after matches it seems to be within a few hundred maybe 2 hundred ish variance but it doesnt match with kills, objective score seems to matter a bit though, the difference also was very inconsistent sometimes the person with the most combat score, objective score and kills didnt get the most rs so it's very confusing

But I think it’s very difficult to correlate RS to mostly objective scores, since most of the round would usually end with a team wipe before objective being played

Ngl, I just don't like TA in The Finals. The game at its core is not designed around it. When we look at successful popular titles like CS, R6, and Valorant we can easily see that the maps, agents, weapons, movement, and TTK are ALL intricately thought out and designed with the intention of creating a competitive tactical shooter experience.
The Finals doesn't have that intentional intricate design like the aforementioned titles and as a result, it feels... eh. It feels like Call of Duty, SnD, which was never the premiere game mode. And for good reason.

Arrowhead showed Sony the problem with their change, they resisted and were vocally displeased with needing a PS account to play Helldivers. All we get is Oscar lying to our faces repeatedly while they deliver no content every week.

I absolutely love bank-it, but there is no progression what so ever. world tour has a leader board and a progression system, Ranked is ranked, powershift for challenges or short games, but for bank-it, there not really any reason to play it.

I've not grinded this season, but I think They need to bring more value to medium within this game mode, There is close to no reason to play medium in it's state. They have stripped medium of the ability to heal and res (Heal beam & Defibulator) Which was the (meta) core point of medium being able to support your team. I don't see how bringing back the ability to revive and heal a teammate would be so detrimental to the "tactical" Point of TA. Obviously have some limitations to defib and heal beam.
What I was thinking was have it so You can only defib ONCE like other abelites in game. For heal beam you could have it so the Cool Down on the heal beam does NOT reset so you could only heal around 250 - 300 total HP (I don't know the exact number of HP you can heal with one charge but it is around that range)
But they need to do something, this game does not seem paced correctly and I feel like this could bring some good into TA.

In Paladins, when you’re getting shot you get reduced healing from all sources, 30% at the start of match all the way to 90% during last round. Embark could add that to Finals too, so that healing beam cannot be used to disrupt fights but rather to heal up after the fight's over. On that note, they should definitely add more healing items for other classes like stims and healing grenades, so that not every team is forced to have a healer for a consistent source of heal.

When it comes to RS, parties are weighted toward the maximum RS of the party. The UI is apparently only showing the sum of RS. So, if you play on a team with a party with a large RS gap, RS changes will be different than you expect.

The ranked system in THE FINALS is by far the worst I have ever seen - your personal input makes no noticeable difference & I have taken many pictures of being 18000-25000 rank and playing with people who are 40000-60000 AND RIGHT AFTER you play with people who are un ranked/5000-13000

Something to mention is since I’m top 5 for TA somewhere around 69k rs…usually my team has an overall 100,000rs more than the other team. If I do lose I am only losing around 700-800rs meanwhile my teammates who are lower can lose up to 1.3k rs which to me makes no sense. I’ll have the highest rs and still lose the least, meanwhile the amount I gain will always be a certain number that just keep slowly getting lowered. It was 285rs for awhile and that didn’t matter of I had gotten 14kills in the match or only 1kill. The performance side of things definitely don’t add up and never seem to actually matter and is all really confusing especially since that’s what is described as the way you’ll be judged by how much rs you’ll receive
I’m hoping others boycott the mode like me. Need them to see the data so they can realize this was a very dumb design decision.

I feel like terminal attack would be better if healing and rezzing wasn't banned. Like, no passive respawns somewhat makes sense, but needing to solo multiple people because of the incompetency of your team is just dumb. At least make it so it’s a decision to either rez some team mates or control the objective. It also feels bad with the limited supply of the gadgets. Only having 1 RPG shot or dome shield just makes it feel like it's not even worth using those gadgets.
@@minimanc might change your mind with time but if heal and rez was allowed 4 medium minimum would be meta. Also heavy is very strong because of rpg
@Appoh heal and defib stacking is a problem throughout the game. So I definitely see that problem arising. If anything heal and defib stacking itself needs to be addressed, though, I'm not sure how without some arbitrary limitation.

@Appoh I agree. I heard someone on the discord suggest a rework that makes the heal beam into a stationary deployable on a cooldown. Possibly a drone that you toss on teammates that's on a cooldown would work too. As for defibs, possibly making it so that rezzing with defibs takes longer for the rez target to respawn each time they are rezzed within a certain time frame would work.
Another fix could be being able to glitch the defib silhouette to stop the rez.
Ive been stuck at gold 1 and plat 4 threshold for weeks now its basically impossible to get past as there is no one playing oce servers and i have to play on asia or NA but asia is full of cheaters so its quite annoying. but i did play this one round where i won against 4 ruby players and received 1.9k rs
Cashout has also become really weird. I'm a leaderboard grinder so I go for max cash, double stacking vaults, opening and depositing vaults, no wipes, getting team wipes etc but despite the leaderboard being the only real 'grind' available the player base seems split between casuals who just want to play cashout tournaments, leaderboard grinders and people who fit between those two types who just want to get to the finals no matter how little cash they get.
They need to fix their premier mode, I think it's really hurting the game, this is going to be a long 3 months for Finals players.

I've actually been on my grind this season trying to get content out to both attempt to draw in new players and educate people so they stay along with addressing issues that need fixed because I truly want this game to thrive.
I played world tour for the first time today because queue times are up to 45 minutes for me on oce so I switched. Regions to na to play and it was the most fun I’ve ever had on the finals (I also didnt play ranked last season cuz I just started and by the time I unlocked it the season changed)

Cheaters are so abundant even in WT, like I feel like I have to question people with diamond FCAR skins if they're legit or if they're cheaters. It's detering from grinding to gold 1 in WT really, so in other modes that must be crippling to any motivation to move forward in games.

One of the cheaters I faced stopped playing after reaching Ruby, sadly I doubt they will ever be banned and the account will probably just be sold or something.
I play most days throughout the week after work. The finals is my favorite game to play atm, I’ve been playing since the beta. I played ranked and played the other modes time to time. I was diamond first two seasons. So, anyway the game was so good in the past but now the ranked mode is TA which for me isn’t all that fun because the 5 v5 seems to be a trashy mode, 80% of the time I’m carrying bots that don’t know how to use a controller. The matches are having trouble connecting due to people leaving the game. I hate playing and having a person leave in the first round. So now I and 3 others are down a man the whole series. I’m don’t plan on sticking around if it continues to be the ranked.

The game is obviously factoring in your performance on the team compared to everyone else on your team it literally says that at the bottom " changes your rank score depending on the outcome of the match and probabilities affected by your opponent's rank score and contributions to your team's success" The game obviously puts a big chunk in your performance on the team. if you do really well on a team that loses you will gain points and if you do really poorly on a team that wins you will win you'll lose points
I love wourld tour but I’m kinda scared to play it cause the last time I left a game (cause I had to eat dinner) I got suspended for 2 hours and I don’t wanna risk having to leave again

Powershift is perfect for practice/warming up and leveling up the weapons/gadgets you dont normally use. Its still a really good game mode just not as good as yhe rest.

I grinded top 100 when season launched, but after that it was basicly cheaters every, single, game. It became extremeley unfun to keep playing. Dont get me wrong most cheaters are bad at the game so it wasnt realy a problem to at least go positive over a session of playing , but it just became a matter of "can i snipe headshot the cheater 1st try b4 he beams me cross map" and ultimatley it felt more luck based than anything else weather we would win or loose a game.
Me and my friend are curently aroun 50-150 in leaderboards , biggest problem 4 us is finding games. Avrage q time is aroun 1h30m to find 20 minute games.

Solo q is nearly impossible i have played rank ta all season and i can loose days profress in one sitting as the loss is so much. Today i was 39k rs and went to 32k rs 3 games cheaters…. And they had boosted rubies some games were unfair matchmaking…. And some games were close 6-7 bit you loose 1.3k so its so fucking hard to climb unless you have all the time in the world

TA ranked is one of the worst game modes I’ve ever played. It’s Embarks worst decision to date. It’s unplayable for all the reasons you listed. The ranked skins are not worth the headache.

Whoever is doing the balancing at embark is obviously a low elo player since a lot of balance changes make no sense.
Nerfing c4 to where it's useless in general for example, c4 was never the issue.
Making c4 mobile was the issue.
Recent medigun nerf is another good example.
They decreased how much it can heal before it overheats but that was also never the issue.
Active mid-fight healing was the issue.
Instead of nerfing medigun healing with someone is hit to 20% for 1 second they just decrease how much it can heal before overheating.
never actually touching the original issue.
LH1 being buffed to 52 damage so it takes 1 less breakpoint for everything and saying it should match the old dps is also another great example.
Nerfing heavies mesh shield every update by 100 instead of just making it 300 heath with a quick recharge time so it's a proactive tool and not just a fight staller...
Making all gimick weapons better than actual aim orientated weapons.
Daggers, Sword, Flamethrower, etc...
Nerfing already underpowered weapons like m60 & burst pistol for light.
Dash is unbelivabely unfun to play against and invis is just cheap damage.
Light never needed any of these busted ass buffs, the playerbase just wasn't good enough to run it in ranked and asked for buffs not realizing how unfun the game was gonna become.
Also not to mention how horrid their manual ban team is, I've been false banned 3 times on the same account and unbanned twice.
They're sticking with the latest ban and refuse to accept any evidence and claim they're 100% certain I've cheated.
They have an active history of dishing out manual bans to decent players.
This one is personal but despite this I still fight cheaters in ranked TA on my alt account daily.
This games future is looking grim if this continues, half my friends don't even wanna boot the game up due to how unfun it is to fight light snipers and there is one in 90% of all powershift matches.

The mmr is very consistent. You just need to look at all of the pieces of the puzzle .

If you SHOULD have 7-0d (based on your team having way more mmr) you could lose mmr for winning if it's 7-6
If you SHOULD have been top performer, (based on your personal mmr vs the lobby) and you're bottom, you could lose mmr.
The game makes decisions about what SHOULD happen before the game starts. If you don't meet that, you'll lose mmr/gain less than you "should"
look at all the pieces of the puzzle and you'll understand, and you'll see it's consistent.
the problem is it isn't consistent that's the problem we are seeing, we even had someone lose 1500 rs from a 7-0 win recently, that makes no sense
