I bought a house in Lancaster too. My mom has a house in Manila. I come & go from the U.S.’, also retired. I just travel all over now. Lancaster is like a summer home. Never going to live in Manila. No parking, congestion, & traffic is scary. LA traffic is minor compared to Manila.
Funny how people here in LA complain about 'terrible' traffic in Artesia, Sepulveda pass, or the 60 freeway, they dont know its actually very pleasant compared to Manila.

There is notorious vulcanizing shop in Kamias. That always has parked vehicles on the sidewalk, bikelane and even on the road itself. It's seems that the LGU doesn't seem to care as this shop has been reprimanded several time. Tigas ng ulo!
That's probably the one that has been ticketed and cleared by the MMDA numerous times. I'm surprised they don't adjust their private property, to accommodate their customers inside. Most of the taxis arrive there on working tires and wheels, so it's really not an emergency. But they stay for so long while their old tires get vulcanized, then rotation of wheels, balancing etc etc.

That's the big problem with the one-side parking ordinances. People take their unused and broken vehicles to those streets that have a one-side parking ordinance. They don't even live in that street or sometimes even that barangay, but they're occupying road space for years 🤦🤦

Remember before, when the MMDA would demolish things like that? Then nearly every City said they want to be the ones to take control of those kinds of property extensions over the sidewalk. That's why you pretty much don't see demolition work from the MMDA anymore. So it's left to the barangay and city to act upon.

The DUI violations in the Philippines is so so poor. DUIs are not misdemeanor, it’s a felony arrest and jail time. License confiscated for 1-2 yrs. Plus, the government has really to be stricter with enforcement & property extensions.
What we really like to see with these safety violations is for the bike to be automstically impounded. Why? Because the driver will just continue riding the same, without helmet, on slippers with children and all after they get the ticket. How many times have we seen that? If this is really about safety, then impound the bike.

Unfortunately a lot of riders are just overly confident that they'll never have an accident. But no matter how good of a rider you may be, you cannot predict what someone else might do. Another rider or driver can cause you to crash, or they can just crash straight into you.
can you please tell mmda that those no parking signs are not very visible when you are inside a vehicle, that must be eye level. just like in abroad, unless it was intended not to be visible for possible violation. violation equals money, right? i saw most of them around 10 to 12 feet high, i was not able to see those sign unless i step down and look up. i hope you et my point, as a driver you have to see the no parking sign while you are inside. see for ur self, check all your videos. that is the problem, the visibility of the signs not the drivers. you are in manila, it is already congested. implement the rules properly.

The one side parking should not permanent in one side, it should be alternate left and right side daily.
Drunk drivers must be arrested.

can you please tell mmda that those no parking signs are not very visible when you are inside a vehicle, that must be eye level. just like in abroad, unless it was intended not to be visible for possible violation. violation equals money, right? i saw most of them around 10 to 12 feet high, i was not able to see those sign unless i step down and look up. i hope you et my point, as a driver you have to see the no parking sign while you are inside. see for ur self, check all your videos. that is the problem, the visibility of the signs not the drivers. you are in manila, it is already congested. implement the rules properly.
