    Can you record a full song using just the Blue Snowball microphone? I put it to the test and record drums, electric guitars, acoustic guitars, vocals, bass, and more and make a full song. The Blue Snowball and the Blue Snowball iCE are identical in recording quality.

    Mic Description:
    Finally, a USB mic that's not only easy to use, but sounds as good on your desktop as it does in a professional recording studio. Meet the Snowball; the world's first professional USB mic. Whether you're recording a guitar at your kitchen table or a complete band in the studio, the Snowball can capture it with detail unheard of before in a USB mic.

    What really matters is the sound/songs you're making not how much you spent on gear. The Beatles recorded albums with much less technology than we have in our hands today and they did what they did. Nowadays we have this tendency to overthink everything and forget what's important. I'm on your side man! Great review!

      Well that’s the point. Time has changed. Why Beatles look at even the top UA-camrs none of them had a mic but in today’s time having a good camera, a decent microphone and nice editing is compulsory or else your chances of being liked and recognised are closer to none.

  • @SuperKnux64
    @SuperKnux64 8 років тому

    People need to understand that he's using the ICE. If he used the regular one, he could use different pattern settings that would help pick the the instruments more. He recorded everything in cardioid mode with the ICE so everything that's directly in front of the mic was picked up. This is still good to show the potential of the ICE.

    • @cThreep

      +JD Knux And to be fair, even if I recorded it with the normal Snowball I would have only used the first setting. I have the blue yeti, which has the omnidirectional setting like the snowball has, and I don't like the way it sounds.

TBH the yeti is far superior, with the clarity (Prob due to the larger size of the thing that recieves sound, i forget what it's called at the moment) and the different pickup patterns, but i only record guitar and vocals so i'll probably just end up getting a blue snowball haha.

    The first thing I noticed before the audio quality was how well arranged the instruments are. That attention to detail is what is going to help go a long way to locking in a solid mix. You've left room for the various parts to breathe so to speak; so, the instruments aren't fighting each other. This was a really great vid mate, I think you are offering up valuable PROOF that the world of home recording can deliver solid results on a very limited budget, if one is willing to do the work in learning how to utilize the gear. As usual, I'm impressed. M

    Every song I have on my channel was entirely recorded with a Blue Snowball.
    Made a whole album with it. Doesn't sound bad.

    Listening to the clean version, I was thinking that it sounds really good and I like the song, but it's missing something. Well, that something was found at the end.... Amazing stuff.

      It really is an impressive mic for the price. It ain't the best mic out there, but it'll do.

    • @rochat
      @rochat 8 років тому

      C-Threep Yeah, well it's all relative. This was an excellent demonstration of what the mic is capable of and you showed at the end that with a little polishing, you can get some great results from an inexpensive usb mic. Anyways, you sold me on it and I bought one for voice overs.

    Okay, so I have a question. If you do like really loud vocals (like in metal and stuff) Would you have that kind of buzzy sound in the background?

    Only negative was the Utah Jazz T-shirt! Love the little girl in the background. Buying the mic now. Thanks! And keep up the great work on the vids and your music.

    Thank you, this helps, as I'm picking out a microphone for VOs, and people warned me that the Blue Snowball might suffice for VO, but not vocals. You sounded fine to me tbh tho.
    Also - WOW you're talented, that's a lot of instruments you can play!

    My advice for all you musicians out there, this mic is not an instrument mic, do yourself a favor and go buy the CAD TSM 411, its a dynamic instrument mic, will get rid of the need for isolation. I use mine for live performances and studio work.

    Wow, I got here, watched the video till the end, listened to the mixed version of your song and was like "my god", then I checked you subs and said to myself, wtf, there's a guy that screams at a computer, acts gay/stupid as hell, and has almost 40 million subs, and here's a guy making quality videos and amazing music, and only has a little over 2k, that in my book, is complete bullshit, I definitely subbed.
