I Don't often use a wire leader, but when needed, I can always make one quite fast with this one.
I have been using this since I was around 12 and it has worked well for me, keeps fishing less expensive by keeping you from getting your lures cut off by the razor gang. This gives you a better chance at catching them too.
I don't really use this a lot these days as I prefer using lures straight to my leaders, but there are just those days when you don't want to worry about anything and losing lures is just something you don't want to do, especially when you are fishing some of your favorite lures.
I make my wire as short as possible to keep it a bit stealthy and has worked a treat for a long time for me. If you have questions, just comment down below and I will answer them.

Hi Kit very timely video for me. I just ordered a couple nomad DTX 220s for wahoo trolling. Im wondering if this can be scaled up for larger stuff. I saw single strand (size 12 -(174lb test)) used with a haywire twist & about 18" long specifically for wahoo. Rigging with wire is new to me so I defer to those who know. Input? Also - 2nd question - Nomad did a vid on crimped 49 strand but it seems most boat captains prefer single strand. Can you suggest good resource material on comparisons or give your input? Thx. Your videos are always regarding things Im trying to figure out.

Use the crimped one for that Jim, wahoo also require some speed on the boat. And man when those things go, they break a lot of things.
49 strand will make things less complicated. Single strand is good but needs to be replaced when it kinks. 49 strand will be a bit more visible as it makes a thicker bubble trail than single strand wire. Most captains can rig them fast and single strand is cheaper, making them the default preference. To tell you honestly, I would use single strand as well, as I do with most of my dead bait rigs - but 49 strand is less complicated and Wahoo aren't really line shy. :)
I think I would max out on a CD 18 or a similar sized lure on this leader.
