@@RaqrexArt 😂😂 I thought maybe I just missed him like I have in the past.. glad it was ur fault and not mine 😜😂 give him a big pat from us, he’ll need a leading role in the next video I think 😉🥰
I've been painting and selling DnD / Warhammer type minis to the public for over 15 years. Since they're made to be played with and handled, I do serious sealing. I use 3 coats of spray gloss in Krylon or Rustoleum brand. If you don't want your pieces to be shiny, go over them with Vallejo Matt Varnish. There are a few other true matte and various satin or near matte varnishes you can use to kill the glassy shine, but that's been the easiest for me to get and leaves a finish which looks like the figure wasn't sealed at all.
Thanks again! And ya know what…we did end up selling one complete chess set. I’d love to sell more they are just kind of time consuming to create and resin is pricey so we do have to sell them at a bit of a premium to make it make sense for the amount of work 🙃
Winsor & Newton general purpose matt varnish is what I bought to seal my army with. It is removable so if your looking for something permanent this might not be it.
Custom Chess Pieces! That's such a good idea (makes note in future projects book). Have you thought about using monster clay (or similar) to sculpt things that are going to have moulds made of them? you can reuse whatever you sculpt with, and if they wont come out of the silicon cleanly, just melt the clay a bit.
Oh hello @@RaqrexArt 😂. I have never tried it either! But I’ve seen enough from other people to be 95% confident it would work lol. I will be making an order for myself at some point I’m sure.
Very cool! That fast-drying resin is no joke. The first time I poured some it hardened during pouring. And though that looked cool, it wasn't what I was going for.
My 4 year old daughter discovered your channel while watching cartoons :) I left her without supervision for like 5 minutes, came back and i asked what is she watching. She told me "Look daddy, this nice lady is making crafting videos just like you". So you just gained little big fan :)
I really love that you're branching out with materials more and more. For the molding process, it's practically impossible to make a one piece mold for the type of detail you had. You have to cut it into two pieces. But the end result was still amazing! I finally started posting my stuff on my Instagram. I follow you as Far World Games so that's how I see some of your stories. I'm making an Altiplano warrior for my Altiplano28 game, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on how it looks so far. Looking forward to your next vid!
Just checked out your art and it is very cool! I'm working on a character design right now as well and it can be super tough so well done and keep up the good work! And sighhh you're probably right...I need to try making a few two part molds on a future project - could prove to be useful.
@@RaqrexArt yeah, it's just a matter of practice. I recommend you follow The Miniature Hobbyist. He's got great videos on a variety of pouring and casting techniques. He also makes minis out of acetone melted sprues. Highly recommended! Also, thanks so much for commenting on my insta! Yeah character design can be hard but I just let myself go with this one since it's a test piece. But it will be the overall aesthetic I'm going for. I'll finish this one, and I'll start on the actual vampire masters/mistresses once I finish my Altiplano mini.

I love the pieces (especially the owl-queen), you guys both had awesome videos as always.
