Actually Koja composed the text when her first grand child was born and her husband added the tune. So, Koja created the song and Rimi made it popular throughout Japan and the rest of the world.

I am an American music teacher in Tokyo studying the music and lyrics of Warabi Gami.
I notice singer Rimi sings different lyrics on different you tube clips; Some contain more Okinawan 'hogen' than others. Can anyone please help me learn the different versions and explain the origins of the different 'hogen' words?
