Honestly Gammas kind of feel like the polar opposite of Broly to me Gammas you are focusing civs early to escape early weakness, hunting boxes for keys to try and stall, dealing chip/ranged shots to someone who is just unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the cell max phase either ends up a damp squib if you get there with poor charge/death and just pray you don't get nuked or its free if you full charged and then you have a giant that feels incredibly clunky but is admittedly pretty strong. Honestly most of their abilities are plenty fine or even arguably above average but most of them don't look, sound, or feel very "powerful" compared to their function. It is a fine gameplay loop, maybe a bit weak, but it just isn't... very satisfying? Then you have Broly. Everything about Broly is a dopamine FACTORY. His early game? Beatdown city, straight to level 2 go teach the survivors to FEAR. Dragon balls? Nah skip to the point just yeet the transpheres out - get to the part where you throw hands cinematically. Civilians? I mean yea if they are just sitting around but you also get a ton of energy from just continuing to fight and getting knock downs anyways. Map Traversal? Excellent. Aesthetic and Sound Effects to skills? PEAK, everything he does looks and sounds devastating and I revel in it. Broly really just walks up and turns the entire match into his personal fighting ring - its fun to play, its honestly fun to play against with the guaranteed transpheres, and its even fun to watch because the aggression/action is constant. The average Broly losing match feels like it still contains a lot more actual gameplay than the average winning gamma match.
It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth knowing that the Gammas are good guys, like they werent supposed to be raiders fr fr Extra bad when survs win and the win cutscene plays with them being killed
The main way to fix key hogging is to just make the gamma's auto turn in keys like the survivors do(and if needed make them unable to see/interact with replacement keys). It really doesn't make sense for them to ever be allowed to hold the keys.
I really don't like playing against the Gammas at all anymore, they're rewarded more for stalling out matches instead of engaging in the game, they get a shield that just prevents damage for a good few seconds (at least I don't think it can be popped by contact like Baby or Broly's) while they're free to attack anyone or get away, Cell Max can just destroy STM startup in the time it takes for someone to grab the Orange Piccolo Super Transphere and get to Cell Max depending on the map. I also just really hate playing against giant raiders in general, it's nigh impossible to get away from them if they find you unless you use IT because of how fast they move and their massive splash on their normal ki shot, and it's suuuuper irritating that Gamma 1 just has two long range supers with AoE on them, not a fan of how they keep giving raiders more AoE supers than they ought to have
