- I spent a ton of time writing the rhythms out to this one and getting them perfect. In my opinion this is the most accurate cover of Fault Line up yet. Leave me some feedback.
Equipment used to record includes:
Shure PG56 on the two rack toms
Shure PG52 on the floor tom
Ddrum Red Shot trigger on the kick
Sennheiser e609 on the snare
2 Shure PG81s as overheads
All run into a Tascam m164uf mixer.
Here is an album containing the rhythms as accurately as I could hear them since people have asked for them: imgur.com/a/LZrnf
one of the best covers from a name iv never heard before. im used to listening to luke holland and matt grieners acutal covers of songs and i have to say this was very well done. drumming was on point and it sounded good. i also really like the feet camera. keep it up and like to see more videos
Finally a cover of this song worth watching till the end, respect!
I appreciate your comment so much. I'm going to school this fall for audio production, so the mix is much more important to me than to other youtube drummers, haha. So that really makes me feel good :)
Dude is straight beast on the tubs! This song is already hard as hell to play in the first place but I think you nailed it man, just my opinion! Great vid 👌🏽
Im speechless. I havent been amazed by a drum cover in a long time. very well done!!
3:05 break and next rhythm BRUTAL!
One of the best covers I have seen on UA-cam, hands down.
Sir, I really have to rais my hat to you.
It's not only how accurately you learned the song but how you played it amazingly clean, like the actual record! You struggeld in the blasts here and there, but this is still one of the best drum covers I have ever seen. Last but not least the track sounds really naturally, I love your mix.
Thanks for sharing, this was extraordinary.
i'm speechless man... this is amazing! probably the best cover of this song i've seen of this song! + i fucking love the sound of bass drum lol
The sound of your drums and editing is awesome. Good job dude! Especially learning this whole song! Matt Greiner would be proud :)
1:45 is greatness, and my favorite part of this song.
I've been trying to pinpoint some of parts to this song and how to play them. I can honestly say that this is the best cover of this song that I've seen. It really has helped me out a shitload and thank you for that. On top of all that, your production quality is unreal, not overdone, nor underdone. Great job overall, keep it up man. you've got really good amount of talent in both fields. Much luck in school too!
God DAMN the fast double bass triplets were nice. Well done, and good sound quality between your set to the song in the background 👌
One of my favorite songs and you covered it very nicely!
I second the mixing; too often do I hear over-produced, toneless drums and cymbals that don't even sound real any more on recordings, especially in heavier music like this. The whole mix is levelled perfectly and is so well altered that you bring out the best of every sound, while still letting it's natural tone come through. Honestly, I think you're on your way to become a top class producer, I'd love to have my drums done by you.
Dude, this was fantastic.
Hey man! That's cool as hell that you're playing this song for a contest, hahaha. I added a link in the description for the rhythms that I have since I already had them online for someone else. Good luck!
MIND BLOWN
Amazing cover!
The greatest and most accurate cover on youtube , good one! :D
you and alex pepper have the best covers by far
Dude that was as clean as it gets. Good cover!!
Perfect cover man could try and cover some more August burns red because i'd love to hear you cover more of their songs
most accurate Fault Line cover indeed. Great Job...
bass sounds amazing and awesome cover man!
Like that snare! And the breakdown was sick!
Extremely impressive!!
I've always felt so stiff when doing fast technique, no matter how much I work on finger and wrist technique. I work on it daily with heavy Ralph Hardinson marching sticks so maybe I can improve soon enough. Thanks for the tips.
Sick cover man! I'm in the process of learning this song right now.
Holy crap bro! That was amazing!
Sounded great bro! Amazing cover!
PER-FECT.
Awesome shit bro. Simply awesome.
You are amazing bro!!!! this cover is very good, great job.
I have no complaints other than your rack tom angles lol. But that doesnt take away from the performance. Great job man
insane cover dude! good work
Wow very good cover!
You deserve infinite likes man!
legend!!!!
Awesome stuff bro keep it up
Awesome cover bro!
Mate this was well played. Very nice :)
Great job man!
great job on this cover definitely received my like button click...
Sick man!
This is painfully accurate.
thanks so much, man
Thanks so much man!
Kit looks weiirrddd. Everything looks randomly place. But I guess your use to it. You killed it! great coverrr
Thank you, it means a lot :)
Loved the video, you have great technique and you're an awesome drummer! Loved how you nailed most, if not all of the fills, which other people tend to mess up a lot when covering this song. Keep it up! Might be the most accurate cover that I have watched so far, yeah
Work on that China, though, man. Imo, it sounds horrible xD
just exploding head!
Just WOW
So fucking amazing. I really like yout cover. You're very fast
Amazing job man do good.
de la csmre, tocas de la ptmre xD .. perfectoooo
Here I am just trolling UA-cam. Trying to entertain myself. And now I need to change my pants.
2 things. 1. Amazingly accurate. 2. You need to loosen the nut on your china. It has no resonance at all because its ratcheted down too much. If you don't like the way it moves, loosen it a tad bit. If you keep it ratcheted down, your china WILL break. And I emphasize will. To keep it in good condition for longer periods of time, I recommend the medium cymbal spring by Aquarian. Really saves me lots more money on chinas. Don't take this as me harping on you, it's just a little friendly advise:)
Thanks a lot! :) You saved my day! ;D
No problem man, let me know how it goes!
We have to jam sometime man
Sorry for the late reply, but definitely look up the flying fingers technique. You can achieve the fastest speed with flying fingers, whilst conserving a hell of a lot more energy and reducing the risk of injury.
good cover bro)
Bro are u using tama iron cobra power glide junior
my pastor likes to tell us anything worth doing isn't always gonna b easy.. so u sed you spent a lot of time concentration effort.... dude I watched only one fault line cover the dude in the storage container or suttin on youtube, anyway this is pretty sick, I play bass, but I love watchin abr drums and cover as well the bass to snare ratio to me is pretty awesome... keep drummin man. peace dan.
Thank
welcome
Hey man, great cover! :)
I just have a question. I live in Germany and there's an upcoming drumming contest in my town, and right now I'm planning on playing this song at the auditions. I'm just having problems with writing out the fill etc. of this song. So I'd like to ask you if you've got some kind of tab for this song..? I'd appreciate it very much :)
Greetings from Germany :)
We put the high tom on a snare stand and where the high tom should be I don't know why but it's messed up to where it's loose even though I've tightened it a billion times. :b
What are the exact sizes of your A-Custom Cymbals? thanks.
Niiiiice
I have one of those kits also
Glad someone realizes how difficult that is :)
Great cover! but whats wrong with your rack toms? haha
Definitely right about being the most accurate, but you could definitely work on your footwork, it's accurate but sloppy in places.
Some general feedback though, I think it might be worth investing time into using your wrists and fingers more for the blast beats + fast rolls (flying fingers technique - do it). You look incredibly stiff at certain points and are probably prone to injury playing like that haha.
All that being said you for sure know how to play the song verbatim, great job man.
Drumming like a Jesus!!!
the only thingi can sat is work on how you produce your cymbal sound because they sound sound relly ast and cut which gives them a cheap cymbal sound even though those are nice cymbal (minus the solar, but you make due) cheers mate!
Chris Worthington
everything about this is awesome man.
but I have to ask, what happened to that oriental china? it sounds really choked and dead
Whats that little china right beside your 2nd tom?
Thank you sir! I agree with you on the china situation, and unfortunately shortly after taping this video, the china died. I've had the Aquarian springs before, and they are really awesome. Need to quit being so stingy on drum equipment :P
UNREAL BRO... Only thing i can say that you need to improve on is your equipment !!! Get rid of those Solar cymbals and get yourself some Sabians AAX or HHX
Well done sir!
Good sound and playing, not perfect but this is really hard. But your middle tom is in really strange position, why not tilt it etc?
This was a great cover. The only thing I would say is your China was a little tight
I hate the position of the middle tom. It is mounted to the bass drum via a shitty mount at the moment, so that's as good as it gets unfortunately.
2:23-2:55 PERFECT FEET!!!!!!!!!
Great cover! I just think mostly all ABR songs sound somewhat the same.
Dude are u in a band?
which drum heads are these?
Nope, hahaha. No time for that anymore with school, unfortunately.
I see mics but it sounds like there aren't any
I have the same shoes haha check out my channel
hate how quick his china is, not resonant at all!
You may think this is the most accurate cover of this song, but I will note that i definitely hear you falling off and speed up on the beat; I can do better.
Your comment is not needed, not constructive in any way. In fact more or less just annoying. Checked out your videos, your a great drummer, but watch the ego man cause that's whats going to get you when it comes down to bands and group settings. People don't want to listen to that. My 2 cents.
I understand my comment is not needed, or constructive, but realize most traffic go to videos with more views and ratings, and not to channels with less ratings. It may not be the best way to get traffic by commenting like that, but im trying my best to find people of interest towards my page.
hey man, I've been doing this UA-cam thing since like December of 2010. If you look at my videos, you can see my progression towards becoming a better drummer. That's my whole reason for UA-cam videos now. It's fun to do, and I get to see that sort of thing with my videos, get to see all my kits etc. In all honesty, this whole UA-cam thing should never be about getting famous or more views, it should be about having fun with it and learning. I envy your 690 subscribers, in just over half a year of videos though! That's amazing! In over three years I've gotten only 288, so be happy man!
Thanks man, I definitely check out your channel, and ill subscribe. I also had an earlier page I made with videos from 2012, lots of progression from now and then. I look forward to seeing you on UA-cam too.
Then do better. I encourage you to do so.
lol that sucks dude
It's just a Wuhan 12" china. Nothing special.
Matt Greiner should watch this. You are amazing. By the way, Can you do a drum cover of Beauty in Tragedy?.
Perfect cover man could try and cover some more August burns red because i'd love to hear you cover more of their songs
