Thanks for posting this video. 10cc has been one of my favorite bands of all time. They are SEVERELY underrated. Most people know songs like "Things we do for love", "I'm not in Love", and other Top 40 hits. But, it's songs like this and "Feel the Benefit" that are absolutely outstanding. The guitar work on this song stands up to anything, including Freebird, Hotel California, Stairway to Heaven, etc. These guys made great music for years including wonderfully, creative lyrics. Great to see them perform live like this.
I was there at the Hammersmith Odeon on the 19th June 1977. One of the best concerts I've ever attended in my life, and there were many. I am from Portugal but I was living in London at that time, I was 20 (!!!). Marvelous musicians (featuring E.Stewart & R.Fenn on lead guitars & T.O'Malley on piano). Awesome!
Wow never seen this before … now that’s how you play guitars 🥰🥰 Eric sublime as always and Rick too amazeballs 👌👌🤗🤗💙💙,you can see they are all enjoying themselves …👍🏼💙
My greatest thanks and appreciation to not only the dedication and intensity of the 10cc greats but for all those people who have displayed their professionalism and heart in capturing and producing this video which opened up this 70 year old dudes (me) eyes to exactly who I was through 3 past relationships and divorces not realizing it for till now. I no longer feel guilty for being me."Sophisticated Man/ Shes Gone" says it all... Thanks friends..
Love this and the version on Live and Let Live. I think it's Tony O'Mally's piano playing that makes the difference. Great song and a real show stopper.
Here', 40+ years later, I'm just discovering what 10cc was. Other than the two big singles here in the U.S., the breadth of its success was in UK and Europe, and I was too young to really hear them before they broke up. Some people compare them to Steely Dan, and I'm not sure that's an apt comparison. I'm not sure there was anything quite like them, in terms of a fully contained ensemble in which all members played everything and all wrote and sang.
Eric Stewart plays the S**T out of that guitar! I really think that's where he always shined most. I was too into hard rock to appreciate all the soulful 10cc stuff when I was young so this was where it was at for me. Still is! He was even hot when he was playing with the Mindbenders but everyone just wanted the ballads. Too bad cuz he he rocked the shit out of that too. Look up his old live videos. So good.
I saw them at the Tower Theater Thanksgiving night '78 I believe. 4 rows from stage. One of my favorite bands all time. Thanks for the video, brought back great memories.
Not heard this tune for decades. I saw 10cc live twice once in Manchester at the Apollo and once in Zurich Switzerland when I was lucky to get 2 free tickets when I worked with Graham Gouldman’s then girlfriend. I took my brother to the gig. Awesome stuff thanks for the upload.
Thank you for posting this Gem of a video. never stopped listening to this travk back in the day ..now i can put the vision to the sound. Merci pour tout.
Many great memories of 10cc. Particulary when Godley and Creme were still in the band. Just think the band lost a bit of its originality when they departed. Still play Sheet Music LP to this day . Still an awesome band none the less.
10cc deserve to be on the list of top ten classic rock bands! no doubt!
The encore on piano ..... GREAT Such a little gem

I hate when the record companies take over. Many times I stop following a band when they go commercial.
Saw them a few weeks ago, amazing

This band, with or without Kevin & Lol, is just awesome...and, regretfully under appreciated in the U.S.--imo.
That boys and girls is how to end a show!
E. L. O.
Would've given every single red cent that I owned at that time to have been able to be at this gig.
Blimey... exhausting just watching 😎
many thanks RetroSteve62! this gig is legendary mate...never seen footage all these years...until now, thanks to you :) Cheers
Eric is sooo sweet.
I'm over head and ears in love with Eric!

Fantastic, thanks for posting this video, rolls back the years and makes me feel a teen again, well almost.
Those were the days........
Two solos guitar incredible
Without doubt their best post - Godley and Creme song.
Both Eric's Fender guitar and Graham's Rickenbecker bass had been stolen after this gig. In his e-book Eric writes he still miss this specific Fender.
It's a Gibson
So Beatles influence .love this band
Gouldman sounds like a soul singer at the start , great stuff.
I always saw him as the weakest of the four vocally, but he sounds surprisingly robust here, like an old bluesman.....
Great band......years.......live vhs
Классно играют, насыщенно...
"Your dinners in the cat". Love that line.
What does that mean ??
yes!
Wow!
For friends of Mr Fenns, here he is at the Hammersmith in 1977 sporting a fine haircut and his usual early days signature moustache.
was there that night brilliant gig also saw original line up year earlie who were better 10cc were as good live as in. studio really great band
still have the Video and have it now on DVD
Please after covid return 10cc

Самая любимая группа мною...
Eric's so cute!
I wouldn't mind being Eric Stewart's honey.. ;)
LOL
I would love to be yours
And they have never been considered for the RR HoF. Outrage. They could play anything.
Shame they don't play this live anymore because it's one of their best post-Godley and Creme tracks
Bunch of bloody showoffs ..............
