2 years ago I discovered my anchestor coming from Breaux Bridge, LA. Died 1888 and served with the LA Militia. One day I need to visit Breaux Bridge to see his grave. Greetings from Germany.
I was looking for the version by Atchafalaya but this one is pretty damned good. I lived in Lafayette in the 80's. I still tell people if you can't have fun there, you just can't have fun.
Reminds me when I was a kid in Sulphur( by Lake Charles) Louisiana. Playing on rock piles at Parish Barn. And the food! Mom and Pop Richard. A J and Bertha
I’m going to guess that about 500 of the current 125k views of this is me learning to play this tune (the second one I tried to learn!) the way Wilson Savoy is playing it here. It is a funky rhythm and the transition back and forth from the A to B parts is a challenge … but I’m getting closer! ;)
Tu parles francais? A lot of people are relearning nowadays, if people don't keep French alive then the culture will be gone in no time, sadly. Hope it can have a resurgence.
Amazing to think that all of this is the product of British hatred and murder. Read your history and then salute the Cajun people with a much greater respect ... and greater joy in Cajun music.
@@pauladair3765 I do agree with you, especially when I am video’ing lol but it was a backyard gathering.. lots of local musicians and fab Cajun jam. Go check out more of my vids.. all local and mainly taken in Breaux Bridge and Lafayette, La. I need to get back into it again 😃
Absolutely fantastic how people from Louisiana enjoy music never seen anything like it

I remember watching it on Sesame Street. The caption reads: (Singing in Cajun French)
@@BuddyBoy600alt I wondered if anyone would make the that connection.
I just posted French and English lyrics on this video.
Great band , too bad about the people in the background with loud voices trying to outdo the band .
