It’s quite unique. In the music video you can see that he hits the snare with the shaker on certain fills. I did it only once or twice because I simply could not get the snare volume out of hitting it with a shaker vs a stick. That entire group thinks outside the box I love it!

Practicing with shakers isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when practicing on a kit but it’s necessary for stuff like this. On the parts where ya hit the snare with the shaker you gotta hit it really hard to match the volume of a stick. I don’t think he did this during the recording because the shake is nonstop but in the music video and live performances I think he does it for flair. Thanks for the comment 🙂

They just need to include shakers in more music period. Such an underused percussion device imo
