It certainly is a lovely train. Thank you so much for showing this. The scenery is exquisite and the engine looks so nice and shiney. They are so incredibly well kept up.I remember when I was very young, my father spoke a lot about the pride of keeping these beautiful trains in absolutely top condition.
Thank you so much for sending this incredibly beautiful video. My video " going down Tokyo Tower" was actually done completely by my daughter who was 12 at the time. Now she is 13. To get back to your train videos, they are of an incredibly high standard.I really love looking at them. So many thanks for showing them!
Seen the Duke twice now, and just passing the time till tomorrow afternoon when she visits us in Plymouth. Ok its one in the morning but we must find some steamy time.
In 1926 a company named Sir W.G.Armstrong-Whitworth of Newcastle-On-Tyne built 30 broad gauge (5ft3in) locomotives for South Australian Railways.Ten were heavy Pacifics (4-6-2) of around 45000lbs tractive effort. They were classified as 600 class and the last one built (609) was named Duke of Gloucestor.Although larger and heavier than 71000 they were not too disimilar.609 could handle a 750tonne passenger express at a permissable 70mph on good tracks.
Hey, Fantastic footage :] 5*'s I'm looking to go up to Shap in June for 5043 and would rather like to visit the shot you did at Shap Fell, if you could point me out with any directions at all then they would be highly appreciated. Many Thanks, Simon
Dont blink or you'll miss something on my little Vlog. Thanks Ralph for your ever kind comments. Look out for my footplate ride on the DUKE in appalling conditions yesterday 4-3-07. I will be posting the resulting video later today when I've edited it for UA-cam.

Is this the run where it was failed with leaking tubes, or was that a later run.
