This feels like that divergent evo thing they did with Wiglett and Toedscool Maybe use the different type triangles you mentioned if your gonna do the other gen starters
Love probably the Dustoise line the most, anyway if a sequel was made for the Johto starters I say it would be based on the Fighting, Psychic and dark Totodile would become a fighting type Chikorita a Psychic type And Cyndaquil a dark type
I'd love to see this turn into a series. Imagine the triangle of Dragon - Dragon - Dragon... I like the idea of having three Dragon-type Starters, honestly!
@@galvanizedgnome Dude, he explained that aspect to that concept way less than you're exaggerating it to be. If you're that ticked off from the mention of global warming, you need to step back and think about what you're getting mad at
Thanks for the video Brandon, I'd love to see more. Personal preference, I think a better name for the Ground-type Squirtle is "Dirtle." That's just my opinion.
I love how the importance of berglasaur’s iceberg is a call back to charmanders tail. Idk if that was intentional or just something a few of us picked up on but that was great.
I don’t know how you did it; but you somehow you made the Bulbasaur line even more awesome, and I love the new Squirtle line and I did not except how the Charmander line went but I like it. Plz do a part 2 soon! I hope it’s the Gen 2 Starters! Even if it’s not this same triangle I’m eager to see what you do with the Gen 2 sweethearts!
Icebergs are much deeper on the bottom, so Bergsaur should tip over and fall into water with the iceberg pointing down to swim, and here are two other reasons why: 1. the iceberg is obviously more sturdy than the squishy body, so it would discourage water predators from trying to eat it. 2. the iceberg is where the lifeforce of Bergsaur is, which is why bergsaur should keep it in the water so it doesn't get warm as fast since Bergsaur live in cold places where the water is most likley cold.
I came up with an idea for a ability for the starter: Vergasaur: when it uses a slash/cut move, it has a 40% chance to freeze the enemy Dustoise: when in the red, the opponent’s Pokémon’s accuracy will decrease by one every turn Chromazard: it is unable to flinch and “throw” attacks do extra damage
I really love that there's a shared theme between the three variants, but that each individual line is trying to act as a foil or contrast with the original.
The design for the steel types makes a lot of sense as strongmen training (Ex: lifting random objects, running around with them, and putting them down) is usually why these powerlifters you see are so yoked. Also increases muscles around the back to reduce spine injuries from carrying all that weight. Being a Mon born doing those types of activities makes sense why the later evolutions progress so dramatically.
I love how it shows how the final forms show more toughness than being likeable and I think they all could be in a Pokemon episode were ash goes to another dimension and uses all three to battle the type swapped forms.
I can imagine verglasaur's ability being something like "frozen curse",where whoever gets hit by it's claws will have there hearts frozen in a matter of days! Kinda like anna from Frozen.
I always wanted to see an electric Bulbasaur, the power plant pokemon! Instead of a seed, it would have a piece of technology placed on it's back at birth. As it evolves, the bulb on it's back would become a full blown Tesla coil... just a thought.
As much as I like seeing new pokemon designs, seeing their stats is also really fun, so I decided to make some for the designs! Burglassaur: HP: 102 ATK: 108 DEF: 66 Sp.ATK: 76 Sp.DEF: 78 SPE: 95 It just strikes me as a fast and chunky ice pokemon with good physical attack. Chromizard: HP: 100 ATK: 109 DEF: 88 Sp.ATK: 74 SP.DEF: 85 SPE: 78 They all kinda felt like physical attackers to me.
You can do the psychic, dark and fighting triangle for the sinnoh starters when you come to that Because that’s what people were theorising for the sinnoh starters before they were revealed
My favorite individual mons from this video are Desertle, Icysaur, and Chromizard. I could totally see these being convergent evolutions of the Kanto starter trio. Please continue this series! I’ll specifically ask for Johto next because I love that trio.
You should really do a series about this concept. Honestly those three would make a Kanto/Johto playthrough quite interesting if they were real. Hey somebody do a fan game about an alternate Kanto with these three as the starters.
Verglasaur's "slash that makes you forever feel cold" sounds like the reason Maxie (from Team Magma) always wears a coat and/or sweater of some kind, and even with primordial groudon and lava aside, he still feels cold
I thought it's become common knowledge that vikings didn't wear horns. Why are we still associating horns with vikings? The verglasaur design is fine without saying vikings are an inspiration.
Ahhh, but verglasaur does not have a horned helmet. What you thought were horns on the "helmet" are actually some kind of icicle and they are not connected to the helmet part at all⛑❄
Recently been binging your content and I really loved your "Diglet for every Type" video. This was awesome! Love the take on the evolution for onion-lizard Bulbasaur- no, BERGASAUR! Verglasaur is just awesome. Plus, that Ice/Ghost typing is plain amazing. And kind of sad. 🙏💙💙
One of my favorite starter type swaps came out many years ago. I'll always remember the final stage of a water-type Bulbasaur was called "Geysaur." It blew my mind, and thematically, it was perfect. Cheers on a great video series.
New Signature Move: "Glass Cannon: fires shards of glass shrapnel at enemies, dealing damage over time to the target and slight damage to any that switch into battle."
I definitely would have picked the ground type here! Squirtle is adorable and this reimagine is cute too. Ground was already my favorite type so this is even better!
I think it would be neat if Pragmagik did a certain starter and it's line of every type series for the starters. For example one episode could be a Bulbasaur and it's evolutions of every type. And so on for the other starters.

Not a lot of people talking about the fact that you used a reverse triangle of sorts for the secondary typings. Fighting -> Dark -> Ghost. Ghost doesn't hit fighting super effective, but it is immune
for my Australia based region that will have regional gen 1 starters, I have also chose the I/G/S (ice ground and steel) triangle but not exactly the same Bulbasaur is now a Ground/Ghost type and is based on the outback (which is funny because its bulb is now a tumbleweed on the *outback* ... lets continue) Charmander is now a Ice/Poison type that is based on the colder regions of Australia and also based on frozen lizards (which aren't dead but could be) and Squirtle is a mono Steel type and is based on the populated areas of Australia and also the more Industrial side of the environment (his shell is just like a Koopa's as well and Blastoise looks similar to Bowser )
I love the eyelashes one the waisttortle because camels have long eyelashes so dust or sand doesn't get in there eyes and sense he lives in a desert it makes sense
I would love to see these 3 type triangles: triangle 1: dark, fighting and psychic triangle 2: rock, flying and ground triangle 3:rock,flying and fighting.
The way you described them I think the steel type Charizard line would evolve into a steel fighting type and while I initially was leaning toward the ice type ghost line but the way you decribed it feels like its base stats would lean towards a physical attacker when normally ice and ghost type move pools support special attackers more on that note it felt like all 3 typings feel like pyscial attackers though the Charizard line felt like it could lean towards a psychial defensive wall. But overall it was some cool looking pokemon designs.
Fun fact they start of weak to each other yet get strong against each other in their final evolutions(ghost is immune to fighting, dark is weak to fighting, ghost is weak to dark)
Nah bc I’m literally in the process of making starter Pokémon that aren’t normal types, the one I have so far starts as a normal and becomes a flying type, then a flying poison I literally love the idea of different type starters

Anyone else notice the small smile on Dustoise
I would love to see these 3 type triangles: triangle 1: dark, fighting and psychic triangle 2: rock, flying and ground triangle 3:rock,flying and fighting.
I like how the new Squirtle has a bandanna pattern on its belly
I personally think verglasaur's snowflake kinda looks like a skeleton pattern, even more fitting for a ghost type👻💀☠
This video is so cool! I hope u do more of this
The way you described them I think the steel type Charizard line would evolve into a steel fighting type and while I initially was leaning toward the ice type ghost line but the way you decribed it feels like its base stats would lean towards a physical attacker when normally ice and ghost type move pools support special attackers more on that note it felt like all 3 typings feel like pyscial attackers though the Charizard line felt like it could lean towards a psychial defensive wall. But overall it was some cool looking pokemon designs.
My favorite type swapped pokemon line has to be the Ground Type Squirtle Evolution line because of the whole cowboy inspiration.
Fun fact they start of weak to each other yet get strong against each other in their final evolutions(ghost is immune to fighting, dark is weak to fighting, ghost is weak to dark)
Nah bc I’m literally in the process of making starter Pokémon that aren’t normal types, the one I have so far starts as a normal and becomes a flying type, then a flying poison
I literally love the idea of different type starters
Great video and designs with this one!
You know these starters feel like really interesting takes on convergent starters!
I love that concept !! It's very very cool ! You should do the other starters !
