    Hi Jason. Love your videos. A trick for the military whips if you want to run 15m or 10m is you just pull the top section out of the one below it and let it hang on the paracord. This breaks the electrical connection and shortens the radiator. You then add length for tuning with the coil. Presto, 10m out of the military whip. Give it a try. Cheers from Trevor VK3DCQ

    From my limited knowledge, this appears to be a copy of WRC antennas. Whats the unique proposition?

      Rez Antennas have had this coil in engineering for quite some time. It's almost indestructible and manufactured out of quality CNC machined material. It is also rated for 200 watts SSB, 100 watts digital (50% duty cycle). It's a cadillac of a coil!

    I have one they work great. Just a let hint I used different color paint markers for different bands to make it fast to set up. I used my rig expert to do this. Thank you Jason 73.

    Great video but as far as radials go the magic carpet, aluminum screen or faraday cloth seems to be a hit!

    This would be a nice park to activate when im in the area. This is only about an houd away from the families ranch.

    That looks like a great antenna. with ground mount the wetness and type of soil has a lot to wo with SWR and tunning impendence. some times more shorter ground radials is better. this varies do to soil . and coax from Italy does not take so long to get it. was different because of COVID . only POTAFLEX from Italy but shipping ,even custom 'made jumpers with POTAFLEX 7 . and they sell the the POTA reel and soon a custom carrying case for the POTAFLEX kit. your discount code worked on my total POTAFLEX order. got adapters and jumpers as well . 73's

    How would you compare it to the Wolf River Coils? It's quite a bit more expensive.

      I've never used the WRC

      I have a WRC, this looks very similar and the WRC was cheaper. Also switched to 4 16’ radials and the SWR dropped quite a bit from the 3 33’ radials.

    Hey Jason . Great video and Thanks for the 15m contact @14:09. You really was sounding great to my QTH! Another suggestion is try folding the radials back on itself to see if it would tune better on the upper bands. Take care de KG2MM

    Enjoyed the video. I think marking the coils to get people in the ballpark would be a good idea. I really need to get me a HF rig. I was hoping one of the big 3 was going to announce something this year. Guess I'll bite the bullet next spring, in the mean time i'll keep playing with the NanoNVA and dipoles

    I bought a Ranger 80 a few months ago. I'm newly licensed (General)... a rank amateur at this hobby. I have limit experience with this antenna, but I really like it. I went with the telescopic whip option and I agree, it's the way to go. I'm curios whether or not using the window screen "Magic Carpet" instead of radial wires would have improved matters with that dry ground? 73 KN6VMK

    Hi Jason. A PS to my last comment. You may have to pull out more than one section at the top of the whip depending on its length. Forget to add this on my last comment. Cheers Trevor VK3DCQ

    If the Harmonics of 40 and 20 are in the 10 meter range . Could you just tune to 40 or 20 and still get 10 without a tuner with the shock corded antenna. I have a QRP Guys end fed antenna tuned fro 20 meters and can operate in part of the 10 meter band without a tuner.

    • @HamRadio2
      @HamRadio2  10 місяців тому +1

      Depends on the matching balun or unun. On an EFHW, cut for 40M, you can get 40, 20, 15, and 10 with a 49:1 wrapped torroid
