May who was already 18 years old at the time of taking military trainings at the BPLA will turn 19 soon.
“I just consider men and women equal. So the trainees don’t pose any difficulty to me”, she said.
Despite a strong desire to go to the front line after becoming a BPLA comrade, she’s giving trainings as appointed so that new strong and systematic revolutionary comrades are produced.
“As I’ve chosen this path, I don’t consider it’s wrong. However long the revolution takes, we’ll do it till the end. I’m not sure yet if I’d stay on or become a photo model which I am passionate about, after the revolution”, it was said.
The army which is based in Karen State bound to eradicate dictatorship and chauvinism is systematically training with the help of allied EAOs in a liberated ethnic area.
The BPLA basic military training lasts from 3 to 4 months and one has to have a strong mind and be physically healthy in order to pass the rough and tough lessons, May said.
“In our time, it was so tiring and I only thought about one hour of training. About each single day. We had to collect strength to pass each training session”, May explained about her experiences during training periods.
The combat abilities of members of the Bamar People’s Liberation Army (BPLA) which is currently cooperating with the Ethnic Armed Organizations have even been praised by allied forces.
About 20 percent of women make up every military training and after training is done, each works as appointed and some are re-appointed as trainers as well.
“I want people to make decisions after a careful thought. Do you want to resist with arms? Or do you just want to hold arms? Only after a firm decision would I want them to choose this path’, said trainer May.
