Your parallels and music made me feel more teary than the episode itself did. I think with as much attention as the relationship betw. Dean and Cas gets from some, it's really nice to see the Sam and Cas relationship shown here. Loved the mix-ins with Red Meat, still one of my favorite episodes. I think part of my problem with this episode is that I understand Dean not getting Cas's first messages due to his phone getting held at the bar, but how did Dean not even check his phone before he went to the junkyard? Then he makes the whole trip back and says to Cas that he'd gotten his msg and asked if Sam was okay. Did he spend the whole drive back freaked out but waiting for no reason to find out Sam's status until he got back? I mean if he had gotten the msg I'm sure he would have dropped everything to rush back to Sam and the rest of his side of the storyline would've been over before completion (or he wouldn't have rushed home which is worse) but a line here or there tweaked to show Dean checked in on Sam's status as soon as he got the msg would've been more in character. Your edits just made that under-reaction of Dean to news of Sam in trouble stand out for me (Jensen did a good job with his concern and taking that deep breath of gratitude that Sam was okay but still, it was weird).
