  • One of my favorite morphs of Honduran milksnakes is the Anery. The Anery gene is one that leaves the snake showing pretty much only black, white, and grey pigment in the skin. It is the opposite of Amelanistic which completely removes the black pigment from the skin.
Our very first one we named OREO because it reminded us of an Oreo cookie. When you combine this gene with hypomelanism (a reduction of black pigment, but not a removal) you get what is commonly called a "ghost". "GHOST" is a name applied to snakes that are a double recessive genetic morph displaying both anerythristic, and hypomelanistic genes.
