As a soccer/football referee, just a query really in regards to Aussie Football. How come when a played is sin-binned, or in this case sent off, a card is not shown? Could someone please clarify this? Kind regards.
They do in English Super League. The NRL is two outstretched hands in the direction of the sheds to signify 10 min Sin Bin, and just a simple finger pointing to the sidelines for a send off (the player doesn't come back)

I think you need to watch more of Thurstons replays....he is a gentlemen of the game. The only time I saw him grind his elbow into someone was in the state of origin, when Reynolds cheap shotted a few people a couple of times then that punch to the face of Brent Tate....(I think it was him)........was the final straw. Go watch some older games and see if you can find anything reckless he has done. If you watch him play he gets hit more than you think....especially after he kicks or pass's the ball.

before wayne bennett came to dragons we saw alot of cheapshots like this. when wayne joined as coach we didnt see any of it and they ended up winning the NRL premiershipe and showing australia that they were a top team. now that wayne is gone they have gone back to their cheapshot tactics and losing games. the standard and level they are now is nowhere near as good as when wayne was coaching.
For all the negative comments about matt prior, thats the first time ever hes done a high shot on anyone and been sent off. I bet theres players with more than that in your team
