  • Be Thou My Vision. A lyric video for the popular hymn Be Thou My Vision, with piano instrumental accompaniment. Be Thou My Vision is thought to have been written by St. Dallán Forgaill (an Irish Saint, 530 - 598). It was translated from the Old Irish into English in 1905 by Mary Elizabeth Byrne, and later versified in 1912 by Eleanor Hull. The music is called Slane, after a village in Ireland, and is a close adaptation of an old Irish melody. It was first assigned to the song in 1919 by Leopold L. Dix. (Source: Wikipedia.)
The hymn is in the Public Domain.

On the video frame with the hymn information (0:46), the translator's name was accidentally stated as Elizabeth Hull. The translator was actually Mary Elizabeth Byrne. The versifier was Eleanor Hull.
