Thank God, I finally know what happened on Saturday and Sunday night. I've been wonderin for the life of me what happened, now I wish I had seen it in color
Sadly most people doing this song never covers Saturday and Sunday
They made the last 2 verses up I think as I've been looking for well over 15 years lol x
@@fizzypop1232 no that's the actual lyrics.
A thing, a lovely tin whistle were before
I sing so:
As I went home on Sunday night as drunk as drunk could be
I saw a body in my bed where my old body should be
Well, I called me wife and I said to her: Will you kindly tell to me
Who owns that body in my bed where my old body should be
Ah, you're drunk, you're drunk you silly old fool, still you can not see
Open your eyes. Can't you see. That's mom who came to me
Well, it's many a day I've travelled a hundred miles or more
But our granny with standing dick sure I never saw before.
Herzig Harte yes, i searched a Long time too
Another version of the last verse is:
As I went home on Sunday night, as drunk as drunk could be
I saw a lad sneaking out the back at a quarter after three
I called my wife and I said to her:
"Will you kindly tell to me, who was that lad sneaking out the back at a quarter after three?"
"Ah, you're drunk, you're drunk you silly old fool. Still you cannot see, that was the tax official that the Queen sent to me."
"Well, it's many a day I've travelled, a hundred miles or more. But an Englishman who can last till three sure I never saw before!"
Rude lol . Does it count if you was born in England but loved and lived your Irish daddy's side

bloke - she's been sleeping with Jaws
what a hoot!
so glad I went to Ireland for my first overseas holiday, and believe it or not, it was in Galway that for the first time ever I heard ALL seven nights of this brilliant song! was on a Con Tiki tour, we were in a Galway pub with muso's, I requested this song, and he made double sure that the ladies in the pub were all good with hearing the "naughty" stuff as well and made sure there were no kids present before proceeding to sing all seven nights. best thing ever! mind you, when he asked where I was from and I told him Australia he said "Aussies are known for their naughty humor"
nothing, I repeat NOTHING, compares to Irish muso's. Nothing comes close. Going back next year for another fix of proper Guinness and music
awesome
Celtic Thunder stopping after Friday makes so much sense now…
Epic...............
Mho and 😢are 😢the best in the team with all of the ❤last
Awesome
That was halerious Irish song specially the endin part fells like he saw himself in front of a mirrror drunk and he is yaling to his own refelaction.🤣🤣🤣A hûe ❤️ from IND 🇮🇳 🙏
the living death...not an irish sang
🇮🇪 ☘️
@@Derekcantona32 auld english/scottish sang.first recorded in ireland by the duliners in 1967. a was around in the late 50s early 60s when "irish" music was just startin with the clancies and due to their limited repertoire adopted many scottish and english sangs at the time. then the dubliners formed in 62 and did the same.then the furies in the seventies did the same. maybe you should research some o your sangs and fiddle tunes.
Who are the sober people that thumbed this down?
prude
ppl that should be BURNED WITH HOLY FIRE (which is just warm water)
not me. drunken and up voting here!
Hayden DiSisto erm, the Irish are British? I'm confused
Trust Me Britain includes Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England. Only people England are called English; Scottish, North Irish and Welsh people actually aren't.
I had to get my X sloshed to get the last two verses out of him.......and I blushed!
Same here many years ago and this lot were still cautious I can tell you
classic hahaaa miss ireland
Nice
What is the verse for Sunday?
You cleaned it up! Chicken.....:) lol.
It's sow not cow
Two different versions lad
Both work
I didn't catch with the last verse was. "That's a lovely ......... the ..... sent to me." I know it was filthy as Hell ( just the way I like it!), but I didn't quite catch it. I know some versions reuse the tin whistle, but I don't think that's what was used here. Can someone please clarify?
I believe they said carrot. Hence the line "a foreskin on a carrot I've never saw before"
That's a lovely carrot stick...
Never heard the last 2 verses before. Whee. Maybe be better to just stay drunk!
@SleepyShippo they did say carrot.
he said carrot but the original lyrics are supposed to say "the lovely tin whistle that me mother sent to me... but hair on a tin whistle sure I never saw before"
also, on Saturday night, he was supposed to say "a lovely nightgown that me mother sent to me... but fingers on a nightgown sure I never saw before"
@@chrisiswright no, tin whistle is the pipe of tobacco ☺
and who are these handsome lads
want a glass of water?
six years late but i think its celtic thunder
The song starts at 2:27
drink. drink. drink drink
Awesome LMAO
Was driving me crazy not knowing what went down on Saturday and Sunday
Happy st pats!
Love it!! And what's the problem?!! x
Great version , but better with more than one singer
What's the thing in Sunday? Didn't undestand it. The version I know says it's the tin whistle from Wednesday and the guy wonders that he's never seen hair on a tin whistle.
saw in other comments:
"thats a lovely carrot that your mother sent to me"
"a foreskin on a carrot I've never saw before"
@@peterszarvas94 is it weired to reply to your answer to my comment after 10 months within 10 minutes? Maybe a little bit. 😅
Anyway, thanks. Seems I didn't t read the other comments.
Yes it is rather filthy isn’t it? But I’m glad I FINALLY get to hear what happened at the weekend! I did like the singer’s hand gestures and word substitutions - it is hysterical. Well done! Only one thing spoils this - the English subtitles are all wrong please fix them or remove them.
Hey BlossomFlowerGirl, thanks for your feedback. I really appreciate it. I believe the subtitles are auto generated by UA-cam I have removed them for now and will work on typing out the captions myself. Again thanks for the feedback and much love,
Matt
@@mattabbott100 Goodo, thanks.
Can somebody tell me please who these guys are?

It really isn't that bad. I was thinking it a lot worse
The englishman version is the one i know lol
Uop
Full version my fucking arse
When the priests gave the Pope a hand was it the Sultan of the palm and his five lovely daughters?🤣
Could nt make out the last two verses too much mumbling..
Bourbon and Shamrocks do a good version. Not as PG as this
Ok Gross. I see why it wasn't sung before
🥕 you love it really and love carrots
I’m sorry Celtic Thunder does it way better!
If only they would the 2 last night
I agree with you. Those last two verses are not necessary plus Celtic Thunder has so much fun with this song.
Really? What's unnecessary may be crapping on a perfectly fine rendition of the tune! If you like the Celtic Thunder version, perhaps that's where you go to watch it. It's like going to a local show and saying "sorry The Beatles did it better." No manners. 🤦🏻♂️
So many mistakes :-(
just because its different doesn't mean its wrong xD
What about you doing better.
Pog mo thoin.
Obnoxious crowd. Ya gotta know when to shut up.
