Winter Flounder limit!! (4-21-2024)

Went out with the goal of catching another winter flounder. After catching the first one pretty early in the session the next goal was to get my limit. As hard as it has been to catch these guys, I’m still surprised i got them! It’s been years since i got a flounder limit.

You definitely the flounder king of NYC now bro. an old timer in SI told me 40 years ago he could fill 2 buckets of winter flounder at the si harbors and they taste 100x better than summer fluke. Keep smashing Bro!!

Was catching them good when i was younger with my dad, now it’s hit or miss, mostly miss lol

@TheReidsOutdoors i got to get one un the steamer one day. Got some sundails in NJ last November and they taste the bomb lol. I hate NJ so much....90$ in tolls n gas just for a 1.5 hr drive sigh.... from brooklyn.

@TheReidsOutdoors they small and thin so cant fillet sundials got to steam it with skin on, just descale, trim off the fins and steam whole, that meat is tender and theres no regulations on them but NJ has tons in novemeber at the inlets about 1 hours drive south from staten island.

Nice video brother. Instead of casting out and waiting, why not cast out and reel in very slow? Then cast to a different spot and do the same. You’ll cover a lot more ground that way.

Yea i see that’s how guys fish for them, this how i always caught them there. Plus it’s a lot of rocks. I go through some rigs while going for fluke there lol

winter flounder are scavengers and don't really chase prey. Completely different than summer flounder.

@@TheReidsOutdoors try them steamed with ginger, and scallions, hot oil and fish soy sauce, chinese style. it has a thinner tastier skin than the summer flounder. sundails is best steamed too.
