Maybe the best compliment I can give this band is you can make an argument for about 30 different songs being their best song. I can only think of a handful of bands where that's the case.
what i hear, is something terrifying and specific, each song has pointed to a specific relative thing, and it is strange that it so broadly grabs everyting. which song? yes!
Aaron is just such an incredible lyricist. "What the writing. Of a thousand lifetimes. Could not explain. If all the forest trees were pens; and all the oceans: ink?"
Aaron has the kindest heart I've ever met. I met and spoke to Aaron about 8 years ago at the bottom lounge in Chicago and our short exchange left a lasting impression on me and my future. I personally thank Aaron for his kindness and compassion and love, you are a true inspiration! God bless you brother!
I've met Aaron 3 different times. I even shared a grapefruit with him !! :3 He is so kind. One time my friend walking in the bathroom and Aaron was there using it and he was like "Do you mind if I pee here" x'D .. story short he said yes.
Never heard of this band until a couple months ago. A buddy of mine had an extra ticket to see them so bored and haven't seen a show in months, I decided to go. Instant fan! I loved the twin fender guitars and spaz drummer. Throw in a good bass player and crazy singer, you got yourself a band! I love all their albums now.
If you like [Untitled], I highly recommend checking out As Cities Burn's new album Scream Through the Walls! It's my favorite hardcore album of 2019 so far!

Huge Brand New Daisy Vibes. It's funny how a band that influenced BN ends up making a song that sounds like it should have been on the other bands album
Where the hell have I been?? MwY is back? Is it me or does the opening track vocal by Aaron (screaming) have a Showbread feel to it?! It's just me? Kk, cool cool cool

@@michaeldowell2508 gross. honestly, grossest comment ive ever heard. don't diminish this band by not even bothering to listen to catch us for the foxes or a-b life
What matters is how the authors of the album feel; I found it a brief disappointment. Less earnest and clever in every way than most of their previous catalogue, and a strange thread of desperate convincing makes this an album that will probably never receive mention.
@Ryan Smith I can definitely understand why someone would feel that way, I also simply disagree. Especially, based on Aarons own interviews leading up to this release.
Yeah I know what you mean.. Although I'm still utterly obsessed with Julia, it's so so good. And Michael row your boat ashore is one of their all time best imo.

I had a similar experience many years ago at a festival. He is a truly decent person. Thank goodness we have creatives like him continuing to produce.

MewithouYou and Brand New? sign me the fuck in, I need more of this in my life! two of the GOATs if you ask me!

Couldn't agree more.
For something I only stumbled across, this is REALLY powerful stuff!
I canNOT believe I slept on this. I left the college radio station I was working at and sort of fell of the wagon with keeping up with new music. RIP
I can't explain why, but I can't stop listening to this album. This record is just fantastic.
This is such a gargantuan record, future generations will enjoy more than us 17 comments so far, yet far more commentary to come

Wondering whether we were someone better then
Or maybe just better able to pretend

[Bear:]
No, I don't know if I know
Though some, with certainty insist
"no certainty exists"
Well I'm certain enough of this:
In the past 14 years, there's only one girl I've kissed
In the blistering heat of the Asbury pier
We sat quiet as monks on the Ferris wheel
Until looking down at the waltzer
And out at the sea
I asked her, "Do you ever have that recurring fantasy
Where you push little kids
From the tops of the ride?"
And she shook her head no
I said "oh, neither do I"
And with my grandma's ring
I went down on one knee
And the subsequent catastrophe
Has since haunted me
Like a fiberglass ghost in the attic
My inconveniently selective memory
As provisionally 'You' mercifully withdrew
All the bearing points we thought we knew
Day's run, days set plot
Our compass shot
We sailed waywardly on
Singing our midnight archer songs
Until well past dawn
It's still dark in the deck of our boat
Haphazardly blown broken bows
Our aimless arrow-words
Don't mean a thing
So by now I think
It's pretty obvious that there's no God
And there's definitely a God!
I dreamt of the rocks at the Asbury dunes
And that you jumped from the top
Of the Log Flume
And they gather like wolves
On the boardwalk below
And they're howling for answers
No wolf can know
I charged at the waves
With a glass in my hand
I was tossed like a ball
At the bottle stand
And I landed beside your
Remains on the stones
Where your cold fingers
Wrapped 'round my ankle bones
Maybe ten feet away was a star
Thousands of times the size of our Sun
Exploding like the tiny balloons
You'd throw darts at
i dunno if i can type anything that does justice... thanks so much for making this music.
