I'm glad I watched this video. This is something I didn't even realize about keeping the map close to boost range. Thanks a ton brother. Love these videos!!!!
Thanks for the explanation, dude. Big help in understanding this.
Can you go through putting a 3bar in place of a 1bar? In particular the settings that need to be changed and why they need to be changed?
Hey what's up man, I've just founds your channel through some HP tuners pages on FB and watched a couple videos. Nice content and I've subscribed. I just wanted to correct one thing with this video. LS3, 7 and 9 don't all run the E67 ECM. Actually I've only seen some LS2 and all LSAs and 9s running that computer. All the LS3s and 7s I've seen are running the E38 computer. Don't take that as absolute truth though cause I'm fairly new to tuning and have limited experience. Keep up the good work!
You are the man, great info
Great Information!
the you explain, is fantastic ! its better than courses i paid $$$ for !!
For my Corolla, I wanna use a aftermarket MAF sensor for my Short Ram Intake (Because a Cold Air where i live is not fun to have during the rain) because I feel the stock one isnt getting much power. I plan to do port and polish heads, Cams, Port Match Intake Manifoldand all that other fancy good stuff later on but been wanting to run it with just my SRI and Muffler Delete. Should I just keep the stock MAF and wait til i do my upgrades or should i just go for it and give it a shot?
Great content! Thanks So much! Ton of information on your channel!!! Do you have a video on the changes needed to be made when a 1 bar is taken out and a 2.5 bar (GM-12592525) is put in it's place?
That sensor is a 3 bar LSA/LS9 sensor, last I checked .
Bruh took it straight to school....really appreciate this vid.
I can't find the video of yours where you showed in hp tuners editor where to change the sensor settings. If that makes sense. My current ECM reads and uses a 1bar sensor. I'm upgrading to a 2bar because I'm adding boost. There was a specific change made in a video so that the ECM knew it was a 2 bar. At least I'm pretty sure it was one of your videos. If you could link it in a reply, that would be awesome. Thanks
Is user defined parameters a requirement to do this? Hp tuners is asking for another $169 for that option.
what would be the part number for a 2 bar on a lt4 and keeping the 3 wire setup ?
Hay bro, im in australia. getting mine prepared for the tuner ! Im relocating the IAT to lim & hav2 install a MAP sensor. Its a GM 3800 L67 V6 engine & the Aussie versions came without the MAP,( only maf) unlike its USA 3800 counterpart. My tuner will b deleting the MAF. So my Q is should i run the MAP set up & sensor similair to the U.S 3800's or go 1 better & update sensor & system. P.S. useing stock delco PCM... TIA Kyle .
Share that knowledge my man... WD
Hello!
I have a Honda Civic 2004 in stock condition with a 3pin map sensor of 1 bar. Can you guide me how can I lean its air fuel ratio? Should I go for high number of bars or less as I already tried a map enhancer it did not lean the AFR mixture but it made it rich.
Ok i have a 2017 corvette lt1..texas speed stage 3,A&A 4" pulley, long tubes, meth and flex fuel that i do not use,no flex fuel in nc,i did the dsx baro break out harness with the 3 bar ls9 map sensor...so my question is how do i change this to a 3bar and do i change the sensor congig to the one for sc...supercharged?
,
Is there a 2 bar sensor that will work with holley terminator x. I have a fast lsxrt intake . But would not mind running a remote sensor mount. Thanks!
I put a ECS kit on my c7. The shop that tuned it did the MAF break out harness but I don’t think they went to a 2bar MAP. Is it possible to use the stock LT1 MAP sensor while running 8lbs of boost?
I have a pcm from a friend that has a 3bar tune on it would I be able to put a 2bar map and run the engine until I have it tuned? I'm not looking to go over 14 psi on my Turbo build.
Hey Kyle I am trying to log the parameters from your 5$ channel/chart files. I had to change a few things for my Gen IV but I don't get a MAP reading no matter the channel I click on, any ideas???
I still have my oem map sensor on my Stage III car. Can I change to 3 Bar Map Sensor myself since my car is already tuned?
Another great video bro.
Can i ask how can we scale new 2 or 3 bar map sensor?, i asking cuz many customers came with new supercharger setup and all they say its 2 bar map sensor.
Is there any way to calibrate/scale the map sensor without searching the net for part number and info?
Regards
Not really, it would be a crap shoot, you're just better off looking up the scale and offset.
What bar sensor i use on my 2001 Audi4 QUATTRO i upgrade to ko4 tubro, intercooler, bov and test pipe? Where can i order it?
I bought 2 turbo chargers that can handle 2.5 bar of boost and my car S6 C7.5 is restricted with 2.0 stock map sensor!
Do I need to upgrade?
Thanks man
Great video man!!! I just bought my first corvette stingray with an lt1 engine, it has a a&a supercharger but is showing a baro code, so if i do the baro harness breakout and upgrade to a 3bar sensor do i need to tune it for the new part? Or will adjust by itself? Sorry i am new to this! Thanks in advanced.
Yeah, I'm guessing it's on a MAF only tune then as you can't tune the VE table in that setup properly without a breakout
What map sensor will work for a 5.3l gen 3 for boost?
But…. I’ve maxed my 2.5bar out! I need at least a 3… might go to a 4bar just cuz I’m not sure if I’m stopping at 30psi 😜
I have a gen 4 only has the selection for 2 bar
Wow why have I only found this channel now dammit. Good stuff.
Because it's only been around a couple of months, lol! Thanks for the support!
Well that’s alright then, I thought you tube was holding out on me.🤫
@@8wireracing694 Plenty more to come, stick around for awhile
so , i have bmw 535d with stock 3bar map sensor and ive chipped the car more than 2.2bar boost of turbo , so if the atmosferic pressure is 1 and turbo 2.2 it becomes 3.2 does this limit my turbo to 2 so it cant read the 0.2 left , car runs smoothly and doesnt put me on limp mode . please help should i buy 4 bar map sensor ?
i have issue on my turbo diesel. after 3200-3400 rpm i have power drop and gain in a sec and going like this can it be a map sensor? no check light or smthing
Can’t seem to find 2 bar map sensor for 03 Silverado
Dear all
I’m looking for a map sensor that can read four plus bar. The issue I’m having is I have a boost cut at three bar. So I want a map sensor that can read over four bar and can be tuned by hp tuner.
Best regards
Okay but like how do u know 1 bar or 3 bar when it's not located on the part or description when buying online
08 6.7 Cummins compound turbo what map sensor do you use
A correction if I may ~ MAP stands for Manifold Absolute Pressure, NOT manifold air pressure.
One thing I’ve always had trouble wrapping my my head around is how do you get inside the stock computer to tune it? Is there a software program? Is there a way to record a run up to a certain rpm and see where it is? Good video
Yeah, a few platforms like HPtuners allows you to log and adjust data on the stock computer. Just like any other system, someone just had to be smart enough to interpret the data
Goat Rope Garage thank you very much.
So this sensor you are taking about is the sensor on the charge pipe, the Tmap? What about the sensor on the intake manifold should you be updating that map sensor as well ?? Also on a 3 wire sensor isn’t it voltage, ground and signal?
No, talking about the map sensor in the manifold
Hell yeah Western Pa! I'm near Pittsburgh.
Keep your eyes peeled.
Shit. I'd drive down to get some hands on advice. Western NY
I have a 2006 Silverado 6.2 l LS stock components I upgraded to a TBSS style intake and 87 mm throttle body. The issue I’m having is when the intake air temp is below 85 degrees the throttle is all over the place it usually puts me into limp mode. Above that it idles and runs fine. It being winter this poses a huge problem. The Mas is in normal range, have you experienced this situation?
are you sure you didn’t delete the coolant hoses that run through the Throttle body? those hoses run through the TB to avoid exactly what you’re describing…
When upgrading to a 2 or 3 bar map sensor do I need to remove the old factory sensor and put it in he same place of the factory one?
And do I need to change the default map sensor pid in the scanner to my new 2 or 3 bar map sensor?
Yes. And yes. You have to copy all the new Map values from the editor into the scanner histograms
I got a 2.5 bar, too much for 15 psi?
How to make 2 pin map sensor to my hiace 2.5 diesel
Can I use a 1 bar map for 1 bar turbo boost by rescaling the map? Or I must have a 2 bars map for 1 bar boost? Thank you
Nope, 1 bar is atmospheric pressure, so any boost at all is over 1 bar, you'll need at least a 2 bar.
Manifold Absolute* Pressure. The terminology makes a difference as in psi vs psig.
What happens if I upgraded my turbo creating say 3.5 bar including atmospheric pressure and only use the standard 3 bar map sensor?
You'll reach an untuned area that we most likely cause you to go lean
@@GoatRopeGarage thanks man
What would cause a map to read below atmospheric
I'm struggling with some issues and need to get map and SD tune. But I'm only running about 10-12psi boost and can't seem to find a direct fit 2 bar. Any help for 08 TBSS with 408?
They make a direct fit 2.5 bar?
@@GoatRopeGarage bro. Thanks for quick reply. Any idea part number? I was told 3 bar off Duramax is perfect but that's more resolution than I need. Correct?
@@Anvil_tbss It's less resolution, but more span, but to be honest if it fits it's probably your best bet.
@@GoatRopeGarage thanks man. Brand new at this game. Watching a lot of your stuff. Of course weather now doesn't help me. Lol
I got a 2 bar map sensor what do i need to adjust in HP tuners i already changed the offset and linear. But it wont idle when i start it.
turns out i have the wires wrong fixed it. it will idle fine for about 5 seconds then goes into limp mode i know there is something that i need to change in hp tuners i just cant figure out what.
Offset and linear should be it, is it reading correct with the engine off
@@GoatRopeGarage no it says its at 25.5 psi with engine off and the baro pressure on the VE table only goes to like .93
What part number is the sensor?
Legit
do you have a video how to set up for gen 3 ve tuning
Not yet, but I will get one out soon
@@GoatRopeGarage thanks im just starting out thinking to get i good hold on gen 3 stuff i have a dyno now with a load to do steady state but long story short been a ls swap intaller for 5yr great at that part now ready to learn how to make them run great
