I got a horse years 37 ago for Christmas. I would ride her through a village just like that. Her muffled hooves quietened by the soft snow. The excitement of Christmas with my beautiful horse (Treasure) You've just taken me back to my childhood, I can smell the leather and feel the snow flakes. Such a special time. Such a beautiful painting and the music brought tears to my eyes. God bless you and yours and everyone watching this.
Dear Paul,Today, on December 8, the International Day of the Artist 🖼️🖼️🖼️🖼️🎨🎨🎨🎨is celebrated all over the world and I want to congratulate you, Paul, wish you great creative success in the future and for many years to please us with your art and share your talent with aspiring artists. All the best to you, Paul!Like as always, good health and thank you for the video.❤️❤️❤️😊👋👍🙂🙏😍👌✌️❤️😊😊❤️
@@ArtbyPaulClark I am very glad that you love my comments!Oh, Paul, if I were nearby, I could give you my beautiful oil painting made on canvas in a frame as a keepsake.❤️❤️❤️🖼️🖼️🖼️🖼️🎨🎨🎨🎨👋😊🙏🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
Dear Paul, this is another fantastic, gorgeous, outstanding tutorial. Love this so much. Great choice of music, too. If I didn't like painting already, this would definitely be the moment for me to start. Thanks a million ❤ .
I came here because of Jenna Rainey’s UA-cam video “Best of 2022” where she mentions you as one of her favorites because of your talent and humor. I was enchanted as I watched you create this lovely line and water color Winter scene. So glad I stayed until the very end - haha! I’ve subscribed and will be watching more of you. Love the music too.
First I must say merry Christmas season to one and all. This painting is special because of the great buildings and sites drawn and painted remarkably in line and wash. Many thanks also to the atrist Catherine Johnson who provided it. The music is dynamic in the background and matching the video and not to mention your humour which makes this tutorial grand. Thank you and happy holidays to you and yours.
And here’s me thinking I’d already done the painting for my Christmas cards this year until I saw this. What a fabulous painting. Thanks Paul, you never cease to inspire me. 😊
This video was so fun to watch! I love your lighthearted humor and easy going style of teaching. Learning that line and wash is NOT an inferior way of doing watercolor scenes. I’ve usually applied ink to “rescue” some of my work by adding it at the end. Learning that I can start out with a bold guide and direction right at the get go. Thank you Paul for this lovely demo and thank you Catherine Johnson for your charming inspiration.
I run to each new video firstly just to see what top you’re wearing and how it fits in with the theme... and then for the paintings .... and... definitely also for the comedy/skits! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I also appreciate how you keep flashing the finished painting up at different times, it REALLY helps tie each part together for those of us not as talented as you to see why you made certain choices.... I really love seeing it!
First - Thank you Catherine for the stunning painting that was the inspiration for Paul's beautiful painting! Paul - Thank you for mentioning the vanishing point. I know this is a basic element of drawing, but I do struggle with it. I also want to draw my own drawings. I will "give this a go!" Paul, thank you as always for being such a patient and wonderful teacher and never assuming that we know everything already. You always do a great job explaining! :0)
Excellent carol choice (my second favorite, the first being the Carol of the Bells). Can't think of anything better to wish everyone than "good tidings of comfort and joy".
Fascinating! Watching you paint that is - and this one is just 'up my street' - well I do live right next door to a church! Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us - and the generous use of sketches.Thank you to Catherine for her generosity too - you did the original justice for sure. Loved the party interlude at end - a much needed giggle! Seasons greetings to you and yours - have a good one!
Dear Paul and Margot, I painted this last Christmas and as I pull it out in preparation for the upcoming holidays I shutter when I look at it. No worries, I am going to "give it a go" again along with the lovely Snow Girl to give to my grandchildren for the Holidays. It's been a rough year for painting with the death of my step-father, inheriting his cat and struggling to watch my beloved dog, who became blind last year, live her best life with a cat in the house. Tough for both of them, jealousy abounds. I thank you for all the hours of joy and challenges you have presented this past year and look forward to seeing what holiday surprises you have in store for your faithful and loving followers. Oh yes, one more thing, every Thursdays my friends and I get together and watch the lastest painting from you and lift a toast to the two of you. I do so hope to see you next year. Elizabeth, Peanut and Houdini from Orange CA USA
Thanks again Paul for another beautiful painting and great video. You never fail to amaze me and always make me chuckle. You are talented and oh so funny too. This painting again makes me missed England especially in Winter. How I wish I was in that painting of yours maybe singing in that church. Have a wonderful week ahead. Cheers
I think this is my favourite one. I just love winter scenes ... and that telephone box! Wonderful elements! And I learn something every time I watch. Thank you for sharing your talent. Happy New Year!
I was watching "Escape ToTheCountry" today and I told my cousin, I'm moving to England! Now I can I tell her I went and I'm having a lovely time! Thank you Paul!🥰
You are truly a master of this medium. I have watched your videos at least twice! I learn something new every time. If I am ever successful with watercolor, I give all of the credit to you, my teacher. Cheers!
Greetings from Connecticut where we just had a picturesque dusting of snow. Love your sense of humor. I now enjoy a sip of Pimm's or a G&T after painting a while and therefore enjoy my little hobby even more! Stay safe because I look forward to watching and enjoying more in the furture.
I think your tutorials should be on prescription for the poor people who suffer from anxiety and depression as they are so relaxing and absorbing. Another beautiful painting Paul, you are so talented 😍 Wishing you and Margot a very merry 🥂 Christmas 🎄 and many thanks once again 🍒😘
Morning coffee,Great Music ,Watercolor, watching Paul Paint,God is so very good,Going to get me a water proof ink pen this afternoon and try this technique on my car paintings ,Thanks Mr. Paul for paying your talent forward with the Blessing of it...
Wow, this is again so beautiful! Thank you, I will try it. Also congratulations to this other painting by one of the followers, very beautiful! Greetings from Germany 🤗♥️
Thank you for all your shares, since I found you, for you have made me smile during some of the hardest days of my life. May you have a wonderful Christmas, and be surrounded with those you love, however you may celebrate it and also Wishing you a bright and beautiful 2022.
Paul, just want to say thank you for sharing all of your painting knowledge with us. These videos are such a help and make us smile. I hope you and Margot have a great Christmas 🎄.
Love it! I only wish my arthritic hands could do Line & Wash. It would be more Squiggle and Wash with lots of stray branches growing where no tree was. It is a beautiful, haunting piece. Hats off to you and to the original artist.
This is beautiful and so much ambience...a nice Brit feel for us Canadians. Again, I will reduce the sketch template to make it Christmas card size. Many thanks!
This picture is so, so beautifull. It's make me feel magical. I wish to be there in that place this Christmas. Thank you, Paul! And best wishes for you and your family.
You'd be jealous of one of our neighbours, who does indeed have a phone box at the end of his garden. It looks odd, but always makes me smile when I pass by. I even bought a BT dial phone because I love the chunkiness in the hand, the lifting of the phone behind the cradle, the zing as I pull the numbers, and the ringtone. Some of us are suckers for nostalgia. On that note, I'm definitely going to have a go at this scene. It's winter theme and quaintness is alluring. The most relaxing and enjoyable 20 minutes I've had all day! Thank You! P.S. Cecil & Mildred... love!
Hi Paul, I absolutely love Cecil & Mildred sketches. Thankyou for being so generous by providing such a wide variety of watercolour painting videos. I'm very new to water colour painting, but have downloaded a few sketches & feel confident to just have fun. Really appreciate the wealth of info & humour in these videos. But especially your warmth of personality to enable folks to share this great hobby. Hope 2023 is an especially good year for you. Best wishes Grace
I always wanted to paint a red phone box.thanks, Paul. I'm glad its line and wash. Also, thanks for the skit, Mildred and Cecil, it made me laugh when I needed it!
Thank you for this very inspiring tutorial. The Red Phone Box really helps the painting come alive. I wish I had one too! Margo has funny remarks! LOL! Thank you both and I hope you have a very happy Wednesday!
I love all your work but this one really spoke to me. I am hoping to try it very soon. I enjoy every Wednesday when you add to your site. I have learned so much from you, thank you.
Oh, wow! Love this, Paul. Just wish programs like this were available 40-50 years ago when I didn’t have so much rheumatism in my fingers. But, I WILL still have a go. Thank you. ❤️
Such a beautiful painting today. I have always admired those beautiful red telephone boxes in photos and now get to paint one. Merry Christmas and a HappyNew year to you and Margot. I am so happy I found you and our group. Made my lonely days disappear as I am now busy painting and learning to sketch.. it has been -38 windchill for a few days so our winter has really set in. Stay safe.🇨🇦
Oh, Mildred, you sexy little minx! ❤️ Thank you, Paul, for the fabulous tutorial. I appreciated the info about the phone boxes because I wondered if they’ were going the way of the dodo. It’s gratifying to know that the remaining ones are protected.
What a joy is to have found you. You are an inspiration to me. Thank You Paul Clark. Here's Wishing You All The Joy's Of The Christmas Season.

Merry Christmas! I'm still very bad at painting snowy scenes but I'm trying my hand with a little painting inspired by this video. Time will tell if it comes out well. 🙂

Christmas with bells on! Many thanks to Catherine for the inspiration, you and Margot, and, of course, those reprobates from the art club!
Just lovely! The only thing I'd add is a bow with bells on the lamp post to add a bit more of a Christmas vibe. 🎀🔔 🎄 ☃️
The diagonal lines give a lovely verve to the peaceful scene. Beautiful!
