Hi, I have one Golf GTI MK4 1.8 Turbo 2002 and the cruise control is not working. The light from the cruise control appears when I enable the in the panel, however, the cruise control is not keeping the speed. So, I bought one original Clutch Switch and I will try to change it. I read in the VW blog that the problem can be related to the brake switch. Do you know if they are the same switch? I'm thinking of changing the brake switch if the first test doesn't fix the cruise control. 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I noticed on my t5 that inbetween gears especially going up hills I would rev to go fast but it go screaming up the rev counter and not responding, I thought the clutch was on its way out..do you think this could be the reason for it? I scanned my van with Carly and got code P028A which is a fault for this item 😅😅
I dont use the cruise control on my car. I took it out earlier and everytime i downshifted my 2nd gear would connect. It felt as if my car is in neutral. When i put my car in neutral my reverse lights stay on.
This particular switch because it is upgraded you do not need to press it, you carefully place it in its socket without having pressed the clutch pedal and then rotate it clockwise half a turn until a click is heard, you insert the cable, you press the clutch pedal checking if the switch is working, I did that today
my Golf mk 4 GTI model 2002.code p2128 and epc light >> The gas pedal does not work .. but when I put my feet on the brakes moving a car and the brake pedal was working as a gas pedal and brake at the same time ,,Is there any help?
I have a very annoying problem with my 2007 9N3 Polo 1.2 12-valve where I'm changing up a gear and pressing the clutch, the revs shoot up by about 1500 rpm and take 5 seconds to fall to idle speed. Would this be down to the clutch pedal switch?
I have a 01 mk4 1.8t and my cruise control doesn't work at all. Don't know if it's a switch or stalk that's not working. I have no rev issues or brake light issues
They’re both clutch switches. The gray one is the safety switch to start the vehicle. The blue one is to cut the cruise control if the clutch is depressed.
hey so to confirm this did fix your high rev problem? i have an 04 vr6 with that problem as soon as i push the clutch in its horribly annoying one moment your shifting fine next moment car thinks your in a race and revs up an extra 1.5k rpms
2 years later and it’s finally working again. Thank you for showing me I was installing the switch wrong
Im having the same issue on my VR, revs in between shifts and I feel its my clutch switch. Glad it worked for you. I plan on trying it
Thanks! I changed this out on my 2005 GTI and now the cruise control works fine.
Awesome! Glad to hear it worked for you as well.
I had no idea this would fix the cruise control, might wanna put that in your video description that it'll fix cruise control. :) Great video!

Starting the car with the clutch in is a safety issue in case you are in gear as not to jump forward.
Mala explicación, no te dice que para volver a poner el nuevo tienes que presionar y girar para que puedas lnstalarlo y pueda hacer clic !

I would say it’s very much worth trying out replacing the clutch switch just to rule it out. It’s very inexpensive.
@@sebastiangaida3285 Two genuine ones ordered (just in case I break one). Thanks.
Did your EPC light turn on because of this ?
I meant before switching it

The blue switch you are holding is not the clutch switch the clutch switch is the grayish one..
Then what is the blue switch he replaced
it is the clutch switch though

Thanks very helpful
