Great walking tour. Venice beach has definitely changed since last I visited, hope it gets to returns to its glory days again. Wow ! 999 videos Chris that's amazing ! Can't wait for 1000! Thanks.
My family owned the Foster's Freeze in the Marina Del Rey area close to Venice beach. It is now Dunkin Donuts . I love Venice Beach nice to see it again. Miss your sweet little sidekick on your back. Thanks for sharing.
Bro PLEASE stay away from Venice. In fact, stay away from LA in general. Visit San Diego or Santa Barbara or something of that nature. You’ll thank me later.
Great walking tour of Venice Beach. I’m actually planning to come down to visit next week so this was perfect timing to watch your video and get a preview of it first. Keep up the great videos!
Amazing walkthrough. I’ve skated up and down the boardwalk countless times but I’ve never had a good tour like this. Learned of places I didn’t even know existed. Haha
Hi Chris. Thank you for the walking tour. I was surprised that it's not that busy. Maybe the weather had a part in less people on the boardwalk. Kind of an eerie feeling.
I've never been here THANKS FOR THE VIDEO I would hope you could do a re-make as there has been a significant cleanup ALSO at 4:52 you have an error in the name of the street , it is WINDWARD not Woodward
It's sadly interesting how it's changed since I've been there. I wish you'd continued the transition to Santa Monica. Will you do an sunny day update for the Venice Boardwalk soon? It must look better by now.
Hi cookilovers.. depends where you're coming from. Within the USA there isn't anything. If you're coming from outside the USA then as of now you need a COVID test within 72 hours prior to departure
I might not be hip enough, Chris, but I’ve never really enjoyed the looks, the smells, and the overall vibes of Venice Beach. Curiously enough, I found it slightly more palatable in your video; possibly because it looks less crowded. Not to mention, you have the incredible ability to make anything sound great, my friend. 😀 That said, I can see how Venice Beach might come across as a specially colorful spot to the tourists, and the ‘select local crowds’. lol
14:00 minutes in you named the wrong artist and I think it's important for you to know Rip Cronk especially if you're doing a piece on Venice. Here's some info and some of the murals he's done. ua-cam.com/video/c4ogYaFSSQ4/v-deo.html
I was there in 2018 and 2019 both in the fall after the summer season had ended. 2018 it was with some out-of-town relatives and they were shocked at the homeless situation, the filth, drug dealing, and the feeling you might get mugged in the middle of the day, plus most of the businesses were tourist traps selling cheap souvenirs. Yep, it gave you the feel of a "West Side Skid Row." 2019 was by myself on a SFO-LA bicycle trip and it was similar. I would hope during COVID the place got cleaned up so the homeless and drug dealers are gone and maybe a new mix of businesses moved in (I can't imagine a lot of the old ones survived the COVID shut-downs with no tourists). I need to make a trip up there early spring 2023 to see what its like 'post-COVID' before the summer tourist season starts.
It's been a while since I've been to Venice and the Santa Monica Pier (I live in Valley). I'm traveling less because of the pandemic, but maybe it's time for me to get out of the house more. The homeless encampments are exploding, and it's now all over the city, even in parts you wouldn't expect it, like Brentwood.
The Venice Beach boardwalk definitely has different vibes compared to Mission Beach in San Diego. It is sad to see a lot of homeless camps along the boardwalk. At least the boardwalk is a little quieter with there being less people!
I was there with my family in February 2020. Horrendous, awful. So many homeless people and the whole place stank of weed. Did not feel safe at all. It was actually a quite depressing place. Same as Santa Monica. This area has really changed for the worst.
When I visit Venice for the first time mid October 2020, I was not impressed at all. It was a horrible experience and the smell was so bad (not because MJ) it was so bad and nothing like before when it was looking really nice in videos and photos by people I’ve seen... I was disappointed but now looking at this video, seems like city finally stepped in and made some changes. So I wonder if they enforce to remove the druggies and homeless away from Venice 🤔 Thank you for this! I’d like to visit back once is improving and better. 😁
Rip Cronk was the artist on the ladder up-dating his Ode to Starry Night. He has many walls in Venice with his art work. LAPD was informed by the city and CDC not to touch the encampments - so until this is lifted they will be here. Encampments have increased by 75% since last March 2020. There are to be NO ELECTRIC SCOOTERS ON THE BIKE PATH OR BOARDWALK. Those shops do not enforce this when renting, so please don't advertise them for Venice, we, the locals do not support them.
Still kind of trashy and dirty, but significantly better than just a few weeks ago when there were still hundreds of homeless encampments right on the boardwalk and on the beach sand. Looks like about 90% of them are now gone. Still a lot of work to do though to completely clean it up. Your thumbnail is in front of Mike's aka German in Venice henna tattoo shop. He's a cool guy with a cool UA-cam channel too.
@@lukebandy516 The goverment shouldn't allow that, Downtown Houston was succesfully cleaned last year, the police gave 2 options to the homeless, either go to a shelter or leave.
@jetpowercom i think they are, the texan goverment is about to clean austin as well because the city of austin just approved a law that bans public camping in the city. Texas is doing a good job
@jetpowercom Yeah, i hate the politicians in CA, i've been in SD, LA, SF, Napa, Sac and Santa Barbara and they are all beautiful cities with great people, what a shame that you guys let the demorats do whatever they want.
Really entertaining. I find your mic voice a little unpleasant to listen to. Perhaps it's to compressed. Sounds like your a pilot flying a plane. A smoother, more natural sound would be more pleasant to listen to. Just my opinion. Thanks for the tour.
Hi Vincent.. thanks for the perspective on the audio.. the good news is you don't hear any wind noise with this setup :). I'm recording it with the Zoom H6N. Maybe some compression going on in there
Boring! If you're going to make a video on Venice Beach, then make it exciting by letting people see all the little acts, etc. going on! .......it's like making a video of a circus while the circus is closed! What's wrong with this guy?

@@MannyRoad this gentleman is correct both San Diego and Santa Barbara have the same boardwalk environment and a lot less hassle getting there
I'd like to see a walkthrough of Anaheim near the parks (not just downtown Disney) to see what's open and what isn't.
Hi Bass Great walking tour. Venice beach Chris. Poor Homeless
I enjoy watching your beach walking! Keep it up!
Visited about three years ago. Sad to see Muscle Beach closed down, it is an iconic place.
Sad indeed!
Great walking tour of Venice Beach. I’m actually planning to come down to visit next week so this was perfect timing to watch your video and get a preview of it first. Keep up the great videos!
Awesome! Thanks!
Amazing Walking in the near beach dear friend
Thanks Feel The World!
A very beautiful Walk in Venice Beach 🧡💛
Brings back memories from when I was there! Hopefully it recovers soon 🤞
Really interesting tour. Thanks Chris.
I feel like I've been there, but only because I've driven down that sidewalk so many times in GTA5 :-).

Lived all my life in O.C California and never been!! Im going this weekend, Thank u so much for in!! 😇😇😇
Right on Image!
How is it there?
Great Video Chris. Haven't got to Venice Beach yet so hope to visit the next time I'm over. Looking forward to your 1,000th episode
Thanks Claire! It's a spectacle for sure! I hope they resolve the rest of the homeless camps by the time you visit.
Might have to take a visit to Venice Beach before it gets packed once again (pre-pandemic!)
Thanks for sharing this area. I've never been. Only heard about it. Must be very lively when it's crowded.
Yeah. When it's crowded it's like 20 times this crowd level. It's hopping then
Awesome job Chris.
We love visiting here from the Uk, thanks for the tour
Looking very nice. I do miss walking there from Santa Monica from my layovers there in Los Angeles.
Thanks for sharing this. Greetings from City Wander!
Thanks City Wander!
Miss this place thank you for sharing
Thanks Margaret!
Planning on taking a weekend brake to Venice Beach. I miss the beach.
Enjoy Andy!
Haven't visited in 30 years...so different...thank you
I'm sure it's changed a ton!
Thanks for the great video Chris!
Thanks Gumer!
Thank you for making this! Will be going soon 🔜
Hi Chris. Thank you for the walking tour. I was surprised that it's not that busy. Maybe the weather had a part in less people on the boardwalk. Kind of an eerie feeling.
I think it's more like the fact that there still aren't any international visitors in LA.
Yup. It's not that busy. I prefer a lot of friendly people there.
I was so interested in Venice Beach wanted to go there yesterday but decided to go to Redondo beach instead. Thanks for this vlog!! 💜💜💜
And now you've been to both! Virtually at least :)
Hope you do one next week so we can see how much busier it is

Thanks Korea 4K!
Hope to be there this Summer ...Greetings from Germany

German "In" Venice, not "from" Venice.

very clear video! so awesome!!
Didn't Arnold work out at the original muscle beach in Santa Monica before it was closed and move to Venice?
At 16:29 I took picture of the Kobe mural last year.
When is the best time on a Sunday to see street performers? Is 3pm too early?
Depends on whether it's summer or winter. In the summer 3pm is probably Perfect. In the winter I'd aim more for 1pm

Hah! Yes.. I'm not really hip enough for Venice Beach either. When you see my Abbott Kinney Blvd video.. now thats a really hip street
I live in Vegas but I go there to visit and buy clothes on the side and omg it’s beautiful
And I am getting GTA 5 flashbacks lol
Best thing about LA
Still cant believe they build a whole city based on a videogame
Honestly given the homeless and trash situation living in the gta version of los angles is looking more ideal
Bro, my wife and I died when you read out the t shirts. Love the videos man. 👍🏾

Will do!
House of Ink was on a tv show called Ink After Dark, I’m pretty sure
Ah!

nice job!!!
Thanks Colleen!
I love chunky monkey but I’ve not seen it in the Uk for about 10 years!
Chunky Monkey is the first Ben and Jerry’s flavor I ever tried! Delish!!!
Mmmm!
13:25 Shouldn't the artist be happy that his work is featured on a live stream? He could have asked for a few minutes to promote his art.

For a place that looks run down and dirty, they really have a lot of interesting shops and restaurants there.

Hey
It's sad to see how a beautiful city like venice has been taken over by the homeless, LA needs to clean it up and send them to shelters
You cant bring drugs into shelters genius, hence why they prefer tents on the beach.
