How do you trap a cat that previously has been trapped??
He knows better. He won't ever go in a standard trap, but got trapped in a drop trap but got away. Need to catch him asap. He has a bad njury that I want to have fixed by the veterinarian.

It definitely provokes anxiety when you try and trap them in a regular carrier. I couldn't close the door fast enough before the pregnant feral female cat turned around and bolted (she's young and petite and knocked up!) I'm headed to the Animal Control office to pick up a better trap.
Update: While pulling out of the driveway on my way to get my trap I saw the feral mama cat dead on the side of the road. Not the ending that I was looking for. She's buried with my other babies and tears have been shed. Feral cats have a rough life.
I wonder if she was looking for a place across the street, where it's quieter, to have her litter because her belly was big yesterday when she was still alive. RIP Jellycat, aka Jellica. : (
My 2 domestic females have an outdoor habitat that I built for them so they wouldn't end up as roadkill. They tolerate the habitat, but I'm giving them no choice, but to live a hopefully longer life.

Hi. I am from Belize. I work at a hospital. We have problem here with over population of cats. They dump our kittens at the dump site. I would like to participate in helping cats find homes and getting them spayed. Anybody knows about any organization that offer funding?

But what if I make an appointment and can't catch the cat the night before? The hurt cat (broken leg I'm guessing) is limping and his back leg looks all shriveled up! It's so sad! I don't have time to try an make an appointment, I'm just trying to catch him to help him out and go from there!
we don’t havw a feral cat coalition in Houston, this is so frustrating because resources for the community cats that remain on the streets don’t exist! or at least i haven’t found them yet!! everything goes for the foster ones! which im happy for! but shit!!! it will be nice to have someone to at actually help the homeless ones!! that remain homeless and i will not become a cat hoarder 😩😩😩 but it would be so nice to get some occasional help at least without spending countless hours on facebook going crazy asking for a bit of help 😞
How many times, you can trap the same cat??? We managed to get a feral cat into our garage, we can go in and out many times a day to leave him food and clean his litter box , but we have to open the garage door to get the snow blower out and bing in a house for him or her , also we have to arrange for a vet to tell us if the cat is female or male and neuter it, he is not vicious , but if we open the garage door he may escape.
I want to use my trap on two young stray siblings, but fear one will follow the other into the trap and get slammed in the door when the other hits the trigger. Can anyone tell me if this has ever happened to them or how to avoid it? It's going to be -20 below zero tonight and I am desperate to catch them!
One alternative approach is to use a water bottle to prop open the door (instead of the trigger mechanism). Tie a long string around the bottle and watch from a distance. When you feel like the cat you want to trap is securely inside (and the other is not), pull the string so the bottle comes out and the door closes.
@@FeralCatsOregon Thanks. They actually got a little friendlier as time went by, and I was able to easily get them both into a carrier. But that's a good idea. Next time, I'll have to try it. Though really hoping there is no next time. Ha!
@@BOSS_DOG One springs the trap and the other one gets slammed in the door following her in. Not smart. Besides, I already caught them both with just a carrier.
Nice video, I have a question, do you think it's possible to catch the same cat twice? The first time I did it I hadn't watched any video before and long story short she went fully crazy in the cage and I have no idea how but she escaped. I've been placing the trap for a few days in my garden now but no success, thank you for your help 😊
Yes it's possible, but you might have better luck with a "Drop Trap".

How do i know if a cat is feral and unfixed of a fixed pet cat? A lot of cats in our area are outside pets but don’t have collars.

I read one time that if a cat is not ID'ed and / or neutered then it is considered feral. Which is why it is important to neuter and microchip ID pet cats (or any pet / animal).
Here in France animal refuge centers usually keep animals (usually cats) for about a week. If no-one shows up looking for it then the cat is either released where it was live-trapped, or put up for adoption.
@@13harrmy moms cat got out on accident( she's trongly against letting cats out) but it was a bad time...Their park was trapping cats and must have caught her...She's microchipped but it didn't do any good as no one called...I think they trapped the cats and killed them

what is a good trap for kittens?
I used a similar trap on a large male. It took him all of about 5 seconds to break the door open and escape. Now I have to try something different as the trap is no longer usable.

omg when the door closed on the cat it was so scared
my crazy neighbor has 18 cats, I can't walk or sit outside because of the smell. I try to sleep at night but after "singing" they get on top of my trailer and fight running back and forth. they are killing off thousands of other animal species but not rated as being INVASIVE. I thank God that snakes can and do eat them.
Yeah, cats are pretty invasive.
I don’t think the traps should snap down like that contact the metal floor, imo they should leave enough height for the tail or a foot.
Trapping tonight and these 2 are giving me hell. Stole bait 3x in an hour or so and walked out the trap like HA HA lady😒..tuna, sardines, canned food...they stole it all and are full now🤦🏾

I used 1 trap caught one then waited a day or so then reset it. Used Tuna in Oil or sardines in oil.
Most of the feral cats in our area eat song birds. They're a good way to get rid of those pisky finches, robins, and sparrows.

She's talking about an appointment with the local feral cat spay/neuter program! The goal is to trap ferals, take them to a vet to be fixed, and either release them to their original location or, if they're young enough to be socialized, find them homes.

Just know that you shouldn't trap any cat you see outside. They could be separated from their family.
That's what the, "family" gets for thinking it's OK to let cats run loose... If it's properly chipped, they will get it back after a good lesson...

I live in Sunbury Pennsylvania. and we have some very dishonest cat trappers (TNRS) here, they steal everyones pets, they dont release the cats back to where they trapped them ,and they rehome peoples pets, and even kill them,, ,they even take cats that have tipped ears and collars,,,this cat trapping needs to be made illegal,,,,just leave the cats alone !!!!
I have cats kills birds in my yard and use my fruits tree wells as liter boxes. Keep your darnn cats in-doors. Why do some cat owners think that their cats have the right to roam in everyone else’s yard?!? I prefer the birds over the cats any day. I don’t care whether ferrel or not. If I can trap them, I am relocating them. Let them play w/ the coyotes.

All over the garden, the garage, and even outside my gate.
And i got new batch of chicks from my hometown and i watched them everyday and luckily my hardwork didnt go to waste,my chicks now have become very cute and chuby chickens.
So please understand why i hate cats.
(I dont hate all cats but just those pesky pet cats that roam around)
@Oreo Cookie But the worst part of the cat owner's stupidity is they keep on buying more and more cats because i keep on seeing more and more cats going from all the same direction,the stupid cat owner's house.
I am not that very mad at them like a want kill them i just have a bit of anger on those pet cats because they always come back all the time even when i shoo them away with a long stick unlike those other cats that never go back after i shoo them away, i guess not all cats are scared of humans.
And all those pet cats that walk around on a line are all going to my house, i think they got used to go there to hunt they're free chicken meal.
One night i go outside to check my pets and luckily they are all fine, but when i was going to go in, i saw glowing eyeballs under the car,then i saw 3 cats waiting there, i know they are pet cats because i memorized the appearance of the stupid owner's cats. And the other night i saw them again.
I got used on shooing cats away that i am not that mad anymore.
And i upgraded the chicken's coop so no chicken will be harmed anymore.
