One minute repaired action fixed and saved the unlimited hours of wasting time to open a MS Word 2016. So Microsoft should learn from this guy and fix this bug in upcoming Microsoft word version.
This problem has been driving me crazy! I reinstalled Office, etc, but I kept getting "not responding" message with files that would run at work. The problem was FIXED after following the directions in this video. Thanks.
So based on this, I removed printers from Windows which were (a) offline and (b) had no fixed IP. This also fixed the problem. It's somewhat bizarre to me that MS Office requires all printers to resolve before starting. Been dealing with this problem for months/years now. Thanks for the fix!

How to Fix Clear the Print Queue Manually You have to manually disable the Print Spooler service and delete the files in the queue. The process is easy. Here’s how to do it: • Switch the printer off. • Click the Windows 10 Search Box. Type "Services" in the search box. • In the Services window, navigate to Print Spooler. • Double-click Print Spooler. • In the window, click on the Stop button to disable Print Spooler. • Open File Explorer on Windows 10 task bar. • Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS. You’ll find the folder that contains a log of documents on the print queue. • Press Ctrl + A on your keyboard to select all the files in the folder. There are hundreds of better things to do than to fix our computers. We must put pressure on our governments to force all these companies like Microsoft to repair all the products that they sell us for FREE and for life.
You can only change the Print Spooler if you are signed in as an administrator. You seem to be operating with an administrator account, a very bad security practice. I only operate on a daily basis in a standard user account. It prevents a ton of virus infections. By the way, this "solution" did not work for me.

goto Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers and select the device right click and Remove Device. Do this for all not used devices !
