IMO, this is definitely Twice’s signature song (at least for the first half of their career). If you consider the media represented, only one of them really ends “happily” (The Princess Diaries), and its message is the same as Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love of All”: Learn to love yourself.
So basically all of the movies they're watching have 1 thing in common: none of them have happy endings. And it shows love in various forms so in the end...they still haven't answered the question of What is Love. But maybe the question starts with the person - it's more important to love yourself before loving others. That's why you see Nayeon transform from a geeky, awkward teenager to a confident, lovely girl.
Ok so the concept is that the girls are on the couch watching TV and seeing different love scenes they see themselves in. And yes, Dahyun is in an Acuvue commercials during channel surfing.
I still find it mildly shocking that Leon: The Professional is one of the movie references in a Twice MV, because the central love relationship in Leon is between a 12 year old girl and a professional assassin in his 40s. The love relationship is unrequited, but it's still heavy with Lolita vibes. I guess Romeo and Juliet is not very innocent either, though.
It's a phenomenal movie. If uncomfortable at times. And one of my favorite Gary Oldman performances. But yeah. The first time I saw this video I was pretty surprised.
