Ear flex is very noticeable in my Indian corn. I used to plant on 30" rows and now use 38" spacing. Ears are much larger which makes a higher percentage of marketable ears. Also doing sweet corn on wider rows has made a significant improvement on size and appearance which translates to better sales. Where there is a skip I find larger ears also. I've been following you guys for several years now and apply what you teach to my 7 acre vegetable farm. I've been to two of your soil fertility clinics and basically apply the recommendations for corn to everything else I grow. I find your programs very beneficial and sometimes funny when Brian seems short tempered with Darren. If there were any other topics I wish you could talk about it would be farm financial planning and return on investment expectations, etc. I came into this with no experience and didn't know what to expect financially and so I just set the bar really high. This year my net return per acre was $6000 so I assume that's OK. That's better than the last several years only netting 5000. Again thanks for your programs and maybe some day you can swing by my place and show me some ideas on where to improve my operation to get my return per acre a little higher.

All these record corn growers in the US plant hybrids at high population. Can we now say population limit flexing when right fertility, moisture and sunlight are optimum?
