In 2005 I almost bought a remodeled hotel condo in Cannon Beach for $62,500; I was worried that I wouldn't be able to make the HOA payments if they went up precipitously. I've kept track of it (a short walk from Haystack Rock) and last time it sold, all of 300 SF of it, the sale price was HALF A MILLION DOLLARS. WHAAAAAA!
Yikes - increased by 8 times. I am in shock over HOA fees that add $500. to $1000. per month permanently! On the other hand, a real estate salesman gets the same percentage for the same work but on $500K, not 62K. Must be nice to be in RE sales.

I do not need to hear about higher crime rates in larger cities from three different angles. Your information is useful. you are well-spoken. Just make your points and move on

I agree Coos Bay is a shithole, any other Oregon coastal town is better. But its also probably the cheapest place on the coast to live and has the most shopping, restaurants etc. So, it depends what you're looking for. I'm looking to move towards the coast within the next couple yrs myself. Cheers!

Reedsport is my favorite cheap town. I love the Umpqua River. It isn't very good, but you are centrally located.
