I naïvely thought that because the potato had been a long established food in the west that I had familiarized and investigated all ways you could cook with a potato. Fast forward to me in Korean restaurant five years ago trying a potato that’s been cooked in honey and soy and having my mind absolutely blown. I lack words to describe how fantastic this was. If you haven’t tried it try it! Soo good!

Potatoes were originated in Peru, south America. They were brought to Europe just like Asia. People have rice, noodles and potatoes everything. Asian food not just rice just like italian is not just pasta and pizza

Having caramelized potatoes is fairly common I think, the honey is the added sugar although I haven't tried it with soy sauce, gonna do that today :)
In some parts of Germany (some think it's weird but I grew up on it & love it), we have fried potatoes (in a pan) with sugar, it tastes divine! 😊
I use curry powder, sugar, salt and pepper to season mine.

I just made this the other day but added too much garlic for my liking. I would probably add half a tsp. of garlic next time. I love garlic but for some reason it doesn't sit well with the honey.

    Love it!
But most of the recipes I see the same use of soy sauce and the same sort of mixture
Doesn't that make everything taste the same?
I am more used to the use of spices like turmeric, curry leaves, bay leaves, red chilli, etc in food of our culture

Really???? I made this a week ago and I was fine. It was super cheap honey so it had been filtered a million times and was clover honey. Maybe it's because I only used like a few tablespoons. Thanks, I'm gonna do some research on this.
