    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is a 2023 first-person shooter video game developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. It is the twentieth game in the Call of Duty series, and third entry in the rebooted Modern Warfare sub-series, serving as the direct sequel to 2022's Modern Warfare II. The game was fully released on November 10, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
    Modern Warfare III retains the realistic, modern setting of its predecessors and continues the sub-series' storyline. The story follows multi-national special operations unit Task Force 141 tracking down Vladimir Makarov, a Russian ultranationalist and terrorist planning to trigger a third World War. The game's multiplayer includes 16 remastered base maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), with post-launch plans for new maps. An open world Zombies mode with a player versus environment experience is also included.
    After developing Call of Duty: Vanguard (2021), Sledgehammer Games were assigned to develop an expansion pack for Modern Warfare II. During development, however, Activision chose to make the project a full, standalone entry in the Call of Duty series, reportedly leading to crunch. Sledgehammer utilized the 9.0 version of the IW engine when developing Modern Warfare III. Treyarch, the lead developers of the Call of Duty: Black Ops sub-series, also co-developed the Zombies mode. After a series of leaks in early-to-mid 2023, the game was officially revealed in August 2023, with a showcase event and public beta also taking place in October. Upon release, the game received mixed reviews.

    I have never heard of such a brain dead take on sbmm. Moronic claims such as try hards just need to get good to beat sbmm is what brought us to the point where aim assist gets reduced and ping gets ramped up to 11/10 to create 'balanced' games. Getting good as you claim is the exact opposite of what any player should be doing under sbmm. Why? Because if you do, then you get rewarded with longer queue times, more games where you have to carry where even 3.0 kd can result in a loss, and ping that sometimes goes higher than 200ms.
    Please prove any of the points I have made wrong. I will give you the benefit of the doubt to say something intelligable to defend your opinion.

      Well if you notice when you are carrying a gamemode with a high KD and still lose. You most likely are in a lobby with 1 good player on each team and noobs everywhere else. who are too afraid to play the game which will lead you to get more kills but nobody plays the objective. Besides maybe one noob on the other team who sits on it the whole game.
      Domination and Hardpoint are team based modes so you cant blame match making because you didnt want to play the objective
      And I am sorry that aim assist being reduced effects your gameplay. After switching to PC I have had to rely on my own aim and skill to combat sweats and people with extreme aim assist
      I would recommend doing bot training without aim assist to get your aim on track
      And all my years of playing I have never had ping issues unless there was server problems
      I believe it is more of a shadow ban issue than a SBMM issue
      But I definitely recommend taking breaks once you feel like the matchmaking is at an extreme. its not good for your mental to get shit on by sweats and have SBMM in the back of your mind

      @@Cr9mson once again the biggest cop out strawman arguments. I am sorry that you have not experienced ping issues. I guess the world just revolves around you and the countless evidence of reddit forums where people say they have inflated ping after winning 5 games in a row must be a lie. That seems logical, doesn't it?
      Also, I guess you really do not have to deal with longer queue times either cuz those probably don't exist for below 2.0 kd players either. I'm glad we can rationalize the game through your experience. Maybe if you keep doing some bot training then you might get over a 2.0 kd and experience what the game feels like when you actually become good.

      @@pspppe perfect example of an Ad Hominem. Using how people on reddit “feel” about the game doesnt make it a fact. If you did actual research you would see that the game never prioritizes skill over ping.
      I actually played for over 7 hours today for camos and never had any ping issues even when my matchmaking skill level increased
      Your only accolade so far has been trying to insult my skill because I essentially told you that you are bad at the game so you have to attack me to feel better about yourself.
      Most videos that are about SBMM are merely opinions just like my own. Everyone will tell you what it does and speculate how the system sorts your rank
      The idea that the game is trying to ruin experience for good players and make a better experience for bad ones makes no logical sense nor from a business stand point.
      Now for my insult. Just because you graduated from reddit university doesnt mean everything you read from there is true

      @@Cr9mson yes that seems logical the screenshots of inflatted ping after 5 game winstreaks. The multiple accounts of people showcasing videos of aim assist being altered. The screenshots of bots with generic and unreportable user profiles like gamrhigh or demonjuice joining lobbies going 0-30 to throw a winning game. The screenshots of 20min+ queue times. All of those posted on reddit by good players unlike yourself. All of that is opinion to you? Lol such a logical argument, good job timmy.
      I guess the only facts are the ones you spew with your "I'vE pLaYeD tHiS gAmE aLoT AnD I dOn'T hAvE aNy IsSues" take. This shows how much research and evidence you have provided doesn't it?
      Anyway this argument is pointless and its over because you are either an activision shill or you are genuinly stupid. Hence, I leave with a famous quote, "arguing with an idiot is like playing chess with a pigeon. The bird is going to sht on the board, and strut around like it won anyway".

    I mostly agree but the fix I would like to see is casual and ranked/comp playlists. Like how they do it in siege. If you wanna play competitive games with sbmm and sweat the you go ranked, if you wanna have simply fun, stay in the same lobbies and meet randos that should also be an option without the sbmm and more mixed lobbies

    • @Cr9mson
      @Cr9mson  8 місяців тому

      I do hope someday activision tries to rework the system. Because obviously they need the “noobs” to play because they will probably spend the most money and they want to give them a fair experience
      Because at least with competitive shooters most people play them to become really good while COD as always been more laid back
      But I feel like too ranked needs a rework in order to inspire the more serious players to actually try the mode

    Nobody is saying SBMM "makes them worse", they're saying matching players in lobbies based on a hidden skill level instead of based on ping is annoying. It might not be a problem for you, but when I'm having to wait like 5 minutes just to find a single lobby at 100 ping, it kinda makes for a bad experience.

    • @Cr9mson
      @Cr9mson  8 місяців тому

      I have heard about people taking a long time to find lobbies and have excessive ping but I have never had that issue. I dont know if its because people get shadow banned and thats why? But I do run over 500 GB fiber internet so maybe thats why my ping is always stable

    as a CSGO player your comparison was way off, competitive in csgo is for SBMM thats the whole point and why its fun, if you play a casual public death match there is near to no SBMM and thats why its fun. i dont wanna be try harding on casual mode i just want to enjoy the game... if i want to try hard i would play ranked.

    • @Cr9mson
      @Cr9mson  8 місяців тому

      i feel like its harder to notice the tryhards in deathmatch because CS' deathmatch is like 20 people (guessing) and you usually die very quickly and to anyone. Plus CS' skill gap is very simple and everyone has a even playing field

    Player A “gets gud” and starts exclusively playing the top 1%. His outcomes (win/loss, KD, etc) float just below a 1
    Player B doesn’t “get gud” and is sort of average. His outcomes float at slightly above 1
    Who is the better player?
    Why should players with lower proficiency/skill have similar or even better outcomes than those who actually are better than them? Not to mention the longer queue times and ridiculous connection issues associated with high MMR lobbies.

      the point is corporate conglomerate named Activision implemented a secret matchmaking system to punish all players by rewarding those who spend more money in the game compared to free to play players by making them play with high ping and CDL wannabes

  • @AbsoluteDeicide

    This is a minority opinion (in the "community" anyway), and it's completely correct. The bitching about SBMM has been going on for years, and I have still yet to hear a reasonable argument against it. You play against people roughly at the same skill level as you... How is this a bad thing? The only people who are legitimately against it are content creators who want to "dominate" random lobbies where the entirety of the rest of room is just trying to have fun but can't with one asshole pretending he is in a CDL tournament. 11 people are miserable so 1 dickhead can drop his fifth nuke in a row... Great...

    • @fattyusmcchubbs9200
      @fattyusmcchubbs9200 8 місяців тому

      I swear if I have to hear "You hate SBMM because you just want to pub stomp little timmys" i'm going to have an aneurism. There have been reasonable arguments against SBMM for years but people likely even yourself just refuse to listen and dismiss them. No offense but it's a braindead take that completely misses the point. SBMM in COD isn't just about matching players up around their skill level because it's not that simple. SBMM goes far beyond that. The problem with SBMM is it doesn't create a fair and balanced matchmaking system that rewards players for getting better. Performing well in MW3 gets you put in high ping lobbies with extended wait times while your opponents have a much better connection to the game giving them an unfair advantage off the bat. If you don't have a full squad of buddies, your random teammates will be of much worse skill to balance the teams. This means the better you do, the more you will have to carry your team. This results in more losses than wins. Why is it fair that getting better at the game means you have to lose more games? Especially when considering the fact you have to actually win to unlock certain things? Another argument is that SBMM doesn't allow much variety in player skill levels meaning everyone uses the same meta setups, movement patterns, etc, making every game feel redundant and repetitive. Like a ranked game mode but without the rank and rewards. So what's the point in trying so hard if you don't get anything for it?

    • @Cr9mson
      @Cr9mson  8 місяців тому

      I think personally because the gaming scene is very hyper competitive now and its only about being the best at any game you play. Before there was never any competitive shooters for consoles and now everyone has high expectations for players and what is considered "good" which is very unfortunate

    • @AbsoluteDeicide
      @AbsoluteDeicide 8 місяців тому

      @fattyusmcchubbs9200 It's not a perfect system or algorithm, but it's more fair and balanced than having no SBMM and relying solely on ping or just having completely random lobbies. I can see an argument for weighing connection above skill more loosely, but for the vast majority of games I've played it's rare for anyone in the room to have over 40ms latency. Unless you're competing at an ultra high level, it's fine for a public match which (as you said) has no stakes. It's supposed to be for fun... There should be incentive to win because it's a still a competitive game, which is probably why they chose to put the unlocks behind daily challenges with unlimited points earned by winning games.
      People play the game for different reasons, but it really does suck to be matched up against people that are literally in a different league than you and you have no chance. It would be like forcing grade school kids who can barely dribble a basketball to play a game against the Lakers just because they happen to live in LA and are the closest opponents; no one is going to have fun. The chances of me, an average player who plays solo and has no time or interest in professional gaming going against Optic should be 0%. The "reward" for good players should be that they are matched up against better players, because that's the only way they're going to get better at the game. The argument of, "Why bother trying hard if I am going to be matched with harder opponents?" doesn't make sense; you're trying hard, but don't want to play against other people who are also trying hard? You're following and using exclusively meta classes, but don't want to be matched against people who do the same because it lacks variety? Complaining you aren't getting enough wins is an argument towards stricter SBMM, not less.
      The point of this video is people are using "SBMM" as a catch-all excuse for every death, lag spike, loss, bug, fart and sneeze that happens when they play the game. Skill based audio, skill based hit detection... it's laughable. SBMM is literally just matching you with people roughly around your ability, that's all it is.
