Any advice for when the seal is not making contact with the moving door? The interlock is not fully sealing on our door and we have a very noticeable draft because of it.
We are having the same issue, carpenter " said" door can be adjusted. It can not be adjusted. Local hardware store advised replacing weather stripping. That will not fix the gap, that you are talking about. We have a gap, between the 2 door panel. The door does not seal well. The weather stripping will not stop the cold air. We are using thick foam from Jo- Ann fabric, the other type, with the sticky back, left a mess on the inside track. Face it the door is cheaply made, I am sorry that I did not upgrade when door needed to be replace, it is only 4 yrs old.
@@delicatelace8830 We have the exact same issue and I tried to do the extra foam fix too - didn't help in my case. I started inspecting the door and stationary panel more closely and I think the panel is slightly warped. I made an appointment with an Andersen field service rep to come and inspect the sliding door. Use a 4ft straight edge level and check all four sides of the door and panel; i.e. top, bottom, and both sides facing you. Basically, you need to check to see if the rail and stile on the door and panel are bowing or warping. At the end of the day, I too regret the purchase and mine is ~6/7 years old
My seal strip doesn’t contact the other door when closed. Should be a larger seal. I sure am glad they instructed us morons to properly dispose of the old parts removed!!
Awesome. Thx. Figured it out! My dopey contractor forgot to install the operating side seal and left it in the rubbish bin. Beware who you hire!

Have the same issue. Gap seem to grow when you look down the door and there’s a leak more than halfway down
Not sure if it’s worth changing the locking panel- is this standard in these doors?
